@ SAE- it was kingston value ram pc2700. we set the ram timings to like 3-4-4-7 in his comp, then pulled them out. dont know if that did anything. :rolleyes:

What did the trick for me? Couldnt tell you, all i did was the stuff mentioned above over and over again, until it saw light.
There is no real way to describe it, no order, no sense, no pattern, just a mash of alteration in technique and swapping out hardware whilst trying to power up over and over again

The timings are either set from bios or read from spd...

Finished testing Infinity 5/05 T6 12-18 results->
Speed = Fast as flying monkeys
Stability = A rock! A high FSB capable bios, not crashing during gaming at over 255fsb @ 1.8vdd
Peripheral dropping = Yup, Lost onboard lan/USB Did not lose sound
Good bios for those who don't experience Peripheral drops, also a great bios for benching. I would not recommend it for 24/7 use or to people who have 1/21 syndrome(like myself)

Hum, WildKard... for 100% peripherals stability you should use the T16 version... It's acting exactly the same way like 1-21 for me (high fsb lockups due to apic...).

This is by far the fastest of all 3 bios versions, I have yet to experience Peripheral drop, I played some quake3/farcry/painkiller for a couple of hours
Running prime95 for the day, it usually causes peripheral drop after 10 hours or so if all else fails
all testing is done @ 11x255 2811mhz 1.75vcore 1.8vdd 3.3vdimm expert/aggressive/expert 11-2-2-2-2.0 EEFD

@Hampster: did you get your mobo working again? I know you didn't get the BIOS directly from me but, nevertheless, I still feel responsible for your mishap. This why I only chose people that explicitly stated or that I already know have BIOS saviors. This mod is still in the highly experimental phase as I'm still figuring out the optimal methodology. If you must hotflash to get your mobo back to life and are in anyway confused about what to do, PM me and I will send you my IM nick. I've never had to hotflash but am familiar with the process.
@Naaser: I will repeat what I told you in PM, please DO NOT flash to these modded BIOS until you have thoroughly tested your new mobo with the stock official BIOS. I did not send you any files for a reason; you MUST make sure your mobo is fully functional before you start flashing away.
@WildKard, G|-|ost, SAE : sincere thanks for your info. Very encouraging as your results indicate that the methodology is workable. I will continue to try different combinations on my machine throughout the weekend. Hopefully the release versions will be ready by next week. One last thing, I don't mind you guys sending out files to people who want to try but please, please make sure these people have somekind of backup plan in case of failure. You guys know about the failure rate of Oskar's latest Betas...

I always stated in the emails I sent out, that every user trying it has to be careful, and I warned not to flash it without a saviour/hotflash experiences...
I did not have to hotflash either. Those bioses are not better or worse in success rate than OSKAR's IMO, how should they?
But would you try to get in the updated nvidia STPGNT bits into ya finals, please. Still havta use wpcredit. That'd be great :D
Just plain common sense really, ya know? Anyways, I do have Tromoto's STPGNT patch and inserted it into the early Infinity versions I sent to WildKard and G|-|ost but left it out on all the LPB versions I sent you. It does change 6C to the correct value as recommended by NV but the value is for the older revision chipset and not for the C18D. Turns out Oskar coded something into the BPL of 4/29 and 5/5 that is affecting register values. So he's trying to figure out why. The patch works for the official 11/27 BIOS however. I won't bore you with the details but I'm confident it will work and will be included in the release version.Quote:

btw, removing ur ram sticks lets u boot again when u cant boot....ufff....dammit dfi....i am gonna work her out

I had to reinstall after I installed sp2 and then overclocking too far stopped the internet working, the roll back feature didn't work since I did not have enough space on my OS partition (fixed now due to partition magic).
I installed without apic, just so I can see for myself if I get a better overclock. Well I don't. Apic disabled drops about 400 3dmark2001 with silightly higher fsb and slighly lower cpu speed. So I can't really compare speeds (between apic enabled at 240fsb * 11 and apic disabled 245 * 10.5).
I have only tried 505_18T6.zip. This works at 240fsb. It works at 250fsb in games but is prime unstable. No peripheral drops, but I have apic disabled so that maybe different.
I will try to test speeds between the latest bioses with my rig as it is at 240fsb * 11.
I think my board/cpu need some modding to go past 240fsb (but I am fully sinked atm).
BTW AdModDev, I note that u r sending out infinity bioses to some, I have an infinity too, but I don't mind testing lpb bioses either.
