OK, do you think 5GHz is attainable? And whats the max volt you can put?
And is my 2.4C M0 will be better then the 2.4A Prescott in 2k1?

omg thats nice! I saw a few ppl who got these somewhere else and they maxed at 3ghz on air? I think maccis mmight do 3.8ghz on air? hmm nice clocks though :) and the other person who posted....(forgot name)...nice clocks also. Please, we need more results! Tedinde said he ordered like 2-3 weeks ago! Come on in bro and post something about that beast :) :D
3.8G on air - not even close to that :)
It runs barely thru the 1M Superpi test at 3465MHz w/ default volts+aircooling. Extra volts and cooling is what makes it fly.
Default volts/air its some 200MHz worse than my 3.0C but w/ R404 + overvolt its 200MHz better than the 3.0C :)
Guys, wait till Grantsdale i915 chipsets omg. There u will see the true power of prescott core.
Why not get the faster i925 Alderwood if you are going Intel?Quote:

veeery interesting. this would be nice in a chiller maybe.Quote:

hm, ive seen these available in the uk.
edit: I've got a P4P800 Deluxe + P4 2.4A Prescott coming my way tommorow. Only have stock cooling atm tho, need to get something better, but don't know what tbh.
Hi guys,
I'm interested in buying this Prescott.
I have a OCZ PC3500 Dual Channel Platinum Limited Edition, can you tell me if anyone tryed this mems with this cpu and Asus P4C800 DLX and what was the results.
Best regards,
Jorge Lopes
just picked mine up + a p4p800 deluxe board.
My box code is.
PROD CODE: BX80546PE2400ESL7E8
MM #: 860580
FPO/BATCH #: 7402A675
BOX DATE: 02/19/04
that guy with the 4.6ghz one was the 18th of Feb :slobber: 1 day out.
Also the actual cpu's corners seem to have slight grooves in them, this normal? Coz my 2.4C m0 didnt have these afaik.
Stable as hell..
but looks cool :D

2.4A + cascade
OMG!!!!!! thats stable!!!!!!!!!!    , I love that CPU. Is it beating your P4EE? dont thing so but....
Nice clock. A 100% overclock. :)
To bad I killed my IC7 and P4C800. So my 2.4A has to wait.
@ macci
what was the max. clock you could reach with aircooling?
I got 3.8GHz -> one SuperPi run but very unstable :(
Looks like I may be getting one of these to go with a chiller. Cant wait
..you do know that is a 100% overclock? my god! what are the temps with that cascade and that chip?Quote:

2.4A + cascade
That is some crazy S*** !!!!! My hero :D
Someone please make some 3dmark tests, we all see its super fast in pi...
I posted a 3DMark2001SE lobby hi test run w/ 2.8E @ 4200 (300FSB 5:4 2-2-2-5) - only 160FPS. P4EE w/ similar clocks would hit around 175-180FPS.
2.4A@4.5GHz 250 1:1 2-2-2-5 would probably hit over 170FPS there.
nvm macci did itQuote:

macci, whats the better bang for the buck running a chiller, 3.0c or this prescott? im kinda biased towards this 2.4A to be different
oh and what is the superpi 1m at 4.8ghz and higher with that?
The 2.8E I had a week ago or so (sold now) would run 3780MHz max w/ +15C air at 1.53V on AI7 mobo.Quote:

Normal room temp, alpha 8942+80mm fan and Vdroop modded P4C800-E w/ default BIOS volts would get that chip up to 3550ish superpi 1m stable.
This 2.4A wouldn't pass the 1m superpi any higher than 3460MHz w/ the same settings. Haven't tried the 2.4A w/ higher volts/colder air yet but I'll test it w/ watercooling tomorrow :)
So 3.8G aircooled thru Superpi is not a bad chip!
Peen, I'm useing a 3.0C on my main rig and 2.4A in bench system at the moment. The prescott is far more interesting for some reason even thou it may not be as good as 3.0C for everyday usage (HT missing). :D
4.8G was max "CPU-Z stable" speed of course :D
Runs superpi 8M at a bit over 4.5G and 1M at 4556MHz so far (29sec).
I'm going to add some extra mosfets and capacitors to the mobo I think..
Hm, I need to start subzero cooling. But my board is broken. :(
Extra Mosfets or replace the current ones with stronger ones?
Which board?
P4C800-E, there are 3 empty mosfet solderpads (1 for each phase) and loads of space for extra caps :D
Hehe :D There is a fourth one next to the AGP slot -> what is that for?
Where to solder the extra caps?
Id like to do this mod :)
nice macci,
I have a new D1 Prescott to put under the cascade this weekend.
