Yes 1.212v is the max.

it seemed to be about a 50/50 chance of making it threw any benchmarks at that clock i had to back it down to 1320 for it to be 100% stable. i feel like just a few more MV and the thing could go crazy like 1.25v and it would be stable at almost 1400 its def crashing because of low voltage and not heat. but if its max its max. im getting a new mobo and 3770k later this week mabye ill do some benchmarks and post them for ya after i get that running.

Great results.

Looking at these (ref) cards there is some room for simple improvement:

There are 3 unoccupied spots for caps. Installing these capacitors (470uf 2.5v tantalum low esr) would reduce the voltage drop from the VRM section to the core.
It would also stiffen the voltage so it would droop less under a heavy scene. This should lead to better overclocking, and stability.

This one is set to 1.250v.
This is untested by me so I don't know what the outcome will be, you're on your own if it goes bad.
If you decide to take the plunged please report back.

do it live! lol that looks like something im crazy enough to give a shot. if they lower the voltage drop then im assuming you have a write a new bios that takes that into account otherwise youll boot up with 1.6 or something crazy going to the core.

It will not overvolt/overshoot. It will just bring it up to where it should be.

For example I have my card set to 1.2v, however when i measure the voltage directly behind the GPU it reads 1.18 - 1.19. This is the voltage sagging, the caps will help eliminate the sag, and keep the voltage closer to 1.2.

Also the BIOS I sent you for 1.250v. I'm not concerned about it frying/burning up your card. I'm unsure what it will do because on 680/670's the vrm controller is hard limited to 1.2125 via resisters tied to the last two bits of the VID. So going over 1.2125 may result in a voltage lower that expected like 0.900 or something. I dont know if this limit is placed on the 660ti. So if you feel bold and want to be the first to try then by all means boldly go where no man's gone before :)

so bassically if it tries to jump past 1.2125 it might just not get any more power and sit at 1.2125 or it might get pissed and brick either way its not going to let anymore then 1.2125 v threw the vrms

This is from the VRM chip documentation. Yellow is the default 1.15 VID, Orange is the max 1.2125.
Look at the area I highlighted it red. On the 680 (and I think 670) Nvidia hardwired these to 0 and 1.
This means everything over 1.2125 is not going to happen. Look at the green which is what you want,
the first two columns need to both be 0 to get here.

If nvidia did the same trick on the 660ti (highly likely) you'll get this instead when I set 1.25000. Look at the purple

Yay Nvidia did not do the dirty trick, and I got 1.25v :clap:

Crap nvidia did the dirty trick, and I got 0.85v :mad:

Yeah sorry I got a bit sidetracked today. I'll continue working on it.

I will release my tool as soon as I have everything figured out. ATM some bios's are too different even in the same model, so I'm still trying to come up with a reliable method to automatically detect the values/offsets.

just stumbled over this thread and what I see looks promising!
I also own a Gainward GTX 660 Ti (ref I think, the package without Borderlands, see picture)

It is a bit loud on 30% fan. Is it possible to unlock it?

20-100% fan

Perhaps. Right now it actually only works on unix platforms, i'll be porting it over to windows. Also I'm working with a few fellows over at http://www.mvktech.net/ on this so there a few kepler bios editor projects running in parallel right now.

It should be better you work together, no ? With credit to ALL dev, maybe " mavke " from mvktech will be in ? An app name like " Kepler Bios Tool " KBT :D ( not KGB :o )

Out of curiosity, when you upped the voltage in your bios did it make any difference to your max stable OC?

1.175 would allow 1200mhz stable on 3dmark11
1.212 would allow 1250mhz stable on 3dmark11

Multiple runs.

Now keep in mind I have not really used this card much other than for testing bios mods.
I did however play BL2 on it and found it to be unstable @1250mhz 1.212v so I backed it down to 1200mhz 1.200v and It's is very stable.

I suspect if I had the voltage at 1.175 and clock at 1200mhz it would not be stable in BL2, but it would be stable in 3dmark11. Major difference I see is BL2 using physx while 3dmark11 not.
