I suppose but for a 69 dollar (cad) reduction in price the 6950 modded certainly looks like a sweet buy. I hope the higher binned parts do the overclocking some good as I have an Enzotech block and heatsink (mst-88) I'm hoping will fit the drmos (if I got that right) on the card.Quote:

68xx is really great value for money for FPS you get for games. Seems there is bottleneck for cpu the better card you go for.

What sort of percentage of 6950 users are we getting that are actually successfully modding their cards to 6970 specs? I'm really curious. The idea of getting 2 6950's, modding their bios to 6970, and then running an amazing crossfire system just sounds so tempting right now. However, if the process is only having so-so results, I'd rather spring for 6970's.
seems to be pretty much 100%. My 6950 only lasted about 3 minutes as a 6950 xD
The Techpowerup site in the OP's link shows every card working after the flashing (60+) and I've only read 1 report on here of artifacting after the flash.

sorry dude but if thats your attitude your on the wrong forum site... sure people who own a 5870 will not be upgrading but even for them the extra DX11 performance is appealing. it could be argued that we only need a GTX 460 and you know if you play at 1920x1080 a GTX 460 will play 90% of games maxed with AA the whole nine yards. but this is not "good enough systems" this is xtremesystems, I run 1920x1080 and there is a reason I bought a second GTX 480, I want a kickass system not a good enough system i want to play 100% of games maxed out with max AA all the bells and whistles with no lag.Quote:
