someone have performance tests for fx series on 880g/890gx vs 9xx? i tryed to google them but no luck
owner survey after 2 years of usage:
motherboard works still pretty well no big issues with old procesors (am3) its good choice if you going to buy older second hand PC
OC capatibilities depends alot on memory setting and disabling integrated VGA but if you set this correctly desk produce pretty nice results
asrock bios is totally lost in auto memory timing setting its highly advised to set them all manually then i have been able to increase FSB speed by 40-50mhz
all of asrock utilities for windows are totally useless (cant imagine someone who actually going to use them :D)
integrated RAID controller is really good -> easy use of 2xRAID 0 SSD array

@oneb1t
Probably there no difference between those platforms. Since there is no difference between 890FX and 990FX:

I totally agree with your thoughts about Asrock 880G Extreme3. Can you share your manually set timings here (all of them please)? I am still searching for the perfect ones. Still waiting for 300Mhz FSB! Thanks to Davey, I managed to make 270Mhz fully stable with 12GB of RAM :yepp:
This mobo is tricky to OC ... but it is also massive amount of fun.

So my late settings were useful to you! I'm happy for having served you right! :D
Looks like Asrock BIOS support keeps on being a mess...

so i installed fx-8320 into my motherboard and its working!!!
only issue i have is trottling under full load in some (not all) benchprograms which can be fixed by forcing Pstate or disabling APM
i also writed to asrock support ticket about this as they managed to fix it on 880g pro3 with same problem before
overclock is prolly not as good as on 9xx series chipset but still i managed to get about 4.4Ghz from 3.5Ghz
some 5Ghz action on our old MB http://valid.canardpc.com/2654587
