y0gi: If you'll keep on having issues with revo psu, imho corsair ax1200 might be good choice. Similar load stability, even higher efficiency, fully modular, good components & soldering. Judging by Jonny's review might be good PSU to have.

Okay, i might as well explain whats been going on with the Enermax psu and the whole strange clicking noise issue. Here goes: As you all know my Enermax psu was making some strange clicking noise and i had to return it. They checked it and claimed they could not hear anything so they sent it out to their distributor for further testing. It was here and about two weeks later, they finally called me back and said a new replacement has been shipped out to you. Awesome... right? Well, once it was delivered to my front door, i eagerly ripped open the packaging to find the exact same box (no shrink wrap or plastic) but the exact same (open) box that i already sent back to them. So i quickly called them up and they reassured me that - yes it was the same box only with a new psu inside. Seemed odd to me. Anyway, made my connections, powered up and guess what??? That's right, same friggin clicking noise. By this point i was furious. So i left the psu running, called "them" and said listen to this and placed the phone right next to the clicking psu. At that moment the damn thing was so loud i could even hear it from downstairs. Then, the apologies came flying. By this point i got in contact with Enermax directly who were very helpful and contacted "them" directly. "They" called me back and gave me many options. (1) New psu:rofl: (2) Money back, or (3) Different brand of psu. I went for 3 and got myself a brand new Antec 1200 Overclock Edition.:up: The first psu i have ever owned was Antec and it still runs with no probs today. I'm not chewing out Enermax in any way. I've heard great things about their psu's, so i'm chalking it down to an unfortunate experience. So, did "they" even replace the psu at first?:shrug: Cant really say as i never checked the serial number. This whole thing has set me back about two months, to the point where i just stopped caring. But, things are back on track and i've even ordered some new items to make some tweaks to the build. Wow, i've rambled on for ages. Now you know why it took me so long to explain. Ooops! Sorry, for the late reply mate. I'm so flat out at work at the moment that i haven't had time to sit and post any pics yet. Yes, this project is still going. I've made a lot of changes and even figured out how to mount the rad in another manner where (from the outside) it almost looks as if the rad is kinda floating as i've gotten rid of the frame i made before. whoever gave you that advice made a mistake mate. those capacitors removed will worsen your PSUs performance. check johnny guru review as it was tested with and without them and ripple increases a lot with standard cables without capacitors. It is part of core PSU design!
If you need a PSU that doesnt have those you will have to get something else but since you started sleeving already that may not be possible to revert to original position. Admittedly the reviewer tested the PCIe cables however if it's there, there is a reason for it. Perhaps PM nickshih who works in AntecHQ and will know what sort of impact it will have.
i gotta agree, if they aren't needed why did the manufacture install them at great cost? (parts/labour/design) who said they are not needed? an electrical engineer?
love ya skills on the floorplate!! i have the same problem with way too many unneeded holes, ive got another idea to cover it rathar than replace it, although i would love to, dont have the metal skills you obviously do.
