This new kit allows you to place the TRUE vertically so to speak... I baught the TRUE as soon as I saw that ^^

Can we maybe get a top 5 list of the best overclocking ram on AMD ? i read this thread and still have no idea what is being used in here.
Part # is in several cpu-z memory SPD tabs.
If you want cas 6 2x2g and max clocks 24/7 with reasonable 24/7 voltage there is no top 5......there is only 1. Benching is a dif story......theres plenty of 1x1gig choices.
It's elpida Hyper based and you surely PAY for it, take your pick theres many manufacturers that carry them.
I want cas 6 max clocks 24/7, i guess what im asking can i get that with good d9gtr ? or does it need to be hypers ?. Your right hypers you will pay dearly, so im kinda leaning toward GTR or GTS if i can get what i want. Thanks for your reply.
I tried the GTS 4gig 2000 cas 8 with no luck at all with them, but that was on ud4p, i now have ud5p, i know don_dan had some good clocks with them, i couldnt get them a lick over 1600 even with 1.70 and cas 9, would bsod everytime, so im looking for something else.
Finding affordable GTR based 2x2 gig is hard enough.......however, the 2x2 gig gtr does not fare as well as 2x1g and to get C6 requires some preety nutsy 24/7 voltage. I would rather reccomend you to go with something that does c7 1600 or 1333 c6 as the performance save benching doesn't realy justify cost.
Elpida Hyper or D9KPT (second needs some serious volts).. maybe BBSE or D9GTR/GTS. Max around 1600 cause if Iīm correct, AM3 canīt do more? Basicly, you can buy some OCZ CL7 and live happily ever after..
My D9KPT can do CL6 1500MHz.. its not miracle, but it can.. and for 99 EUR.. which aint bad..
Ok, well i have a patriot viper 4 gig kit now that is 1600 cas 7 1.9v, about 1640 cas 7 is all i can get stable 24/7. I guess save my money and get hypers is the way to go.
I thought you tested the Dominator GT 2000C8, now you want to get some other Hypers?
Stay away from D9GTR for 24/7 use though, just like chew* said, they require massive volts to reach high clockspeeds.
Max clockspeed is 960MHz, 800Mhz is still a long way to go. ;)
How does 790FXT-UD5P + 965 C3 like 2(3)x1GB Kingston HyperX DDR3-2000 C9 Elpida BBSE's?
And what about 2x1GB D9GTR's?
There's a thread about these in the bandwidth section.

I think I may bite after I return from my trip. I'd love to see what these can do, hopefully 1600 cas6 or 1800 cas6/7. They may pair up nicely with a C3 and some water. ;)
this is the right thread to publish that post, TheBlueChanell

Not the best Ram today, but i think good Spi32m performance

Performance number = 3931262,4
This thread is sort of about the "best" ram for an AMD plaform......that said it applies to ram for 24/7 use....not many people run 2x1 gig in a 24/7 rig not to mention it's easy to clock 2x1 gig to the limit of the IMC.
I know it's only 2x1GB but it was just to test how far the memcontroller would go:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...ots/900ram.jpg
Not 100% stable as memtest 86+ test 5 froze after a few seconds.
I think 880-888 is stable.
So not much improvement for the IMC with the C3 revision. :(
Thanks Daniel. ;)
It is CSX Diablo ram, i have 3 (!!) pairs so i will give 4x1GB a shot soon to see if it hits the same limit.
No Hypers here (yet) i'm waiting for the price to go down before i take the plunge.
Vdimm was 2.02V set in bios, these sticks need around 2.04V to do DDR 1800 7-6-5 on my (now dead:() X48 board.
3 pairs
I got myself a Cellshock kit off ebay, my first D9GTR, but they didn't want to play nicely when I was testing them, I couldn't enter BIOS with them. I need to spend some time with them again. 2.02V is lower than I expected, which is rather cool, but still, Hyper chips are incredibly powerful. Mine were stable at 884MHz CL6-6-5-20 1T on my C2 965.
Please do some 4x1GB testing, I haven't seen anyone do it, and you have some fine RAM to do it.
Just tested 4x1GB of ram and i was quite surprised to say the least, see for yourself:

1more click of fsb resulted in a bsod.
Maybe the higher Vdimm (2.1V) was the reason for going higher than with 2x1GB.
I think it's fair to say the amount of dimm's are irrelevant for the IMC's max. ;)
Maybe for you, and for everyday use ;) 4x1 will run into issues maxxing out cold
Imc is not the limit, your ram is the limit now. And the crosshair III maxxes out higher.
Try 7-6-6 or 7-7-7 also 32m would be nice ;)
Gigabyte has a board wall at 940.

Here' what you should expect from your d9's timing/speed wise. I don't run 1m becasue well it's misleading.

Prime stable + max NB stable on water

I don't think it's the ram mate, both pairs ran DDR1900+ 7-6-5 in my Rampage Extreme -- 32M stable.
I will try more volts on the ram to see if i can get higher.
How high could you take your ram in the Crosshair III with normal cooling?
Btw, nice results on the ram clocking there.
Nice going Eugene, I haven't seen anyone take 4x1GB that high!
@ krjalone: Another one running Dominator GTs! Can you go any higher on the RAM?
Thanks Daniel but seeing Brian's results it seems like i failed. :D
Surely i will try more with 2x1GB and a bit more volts, i might even kill some time doing 32M runs. ;)
Zeus after you hit 956 stop trying as its a physical wall of the cpu, crosshair III can get you there however.
Take your time and don't force em. You will figure it out :)
krjalone, lock in those timings bud.
They should do 6-6-5-18-24 prime stable at that speed.
