this board looks like a winner if priced right, i wouldn't mind using one for a folding rig
me? :D
if its priced well and clocks well thats great... more boards to chose from is def nice... but i find it hard to believe itll cost the same or less and clock better than other boards... but if it does, hooray :D
but 200x20 4g and 2g cas7... is there any board that cant clock to this speed?
not me? :( :D
yeah looking forward to it... and i hope we will get more infos about testing and reliability... the idea in itself is nice, but only having some components tested by a third company instead of the mfc doesnt realy make a big diference... thats more like how it should be for all boards... im actually surprised not all component mfcs and vendors need to have their parts tested and certified
saaya - buddy, those are stock clocks for me, I just turned it on like that, didn't had time for LN2 yet cause of that ATI launch...
200mhz on a i7 870 is great
Ok guys, once I will finish with ATI's new line of products I will put the guns on the Sabertooh, to see if it is up to the task, or just an extinct species :)
Saaya - just for the record, from all the boards I have worked with so far from Asus, Gigabyte and MSI, they clock almost the same on air. Even under cold, with the same PCI-E clock, the do the same BCLK, and so on. Only my max clocks under cold have been different untill now, and the max bench-able clocks under LN2.
don't forget to finish ya beer first Monstru !!
Wow what a read...
interesting board, asus :)
yeah that what most people told me so far... there seem to be some diferences in peoples experiences though, some say asus is clocking slightly worse than others, some say msi i clocking slightly worse than others... in max bclock that is...
and yes, dont forget the beer bro! :D :toast:
Well, (beer hick-up)....I must say that they do not seem different as far as BCLK is concerned. BCLK is in a very tight relation with PCI-E frequency, so at the same PCI-E freq they will get almost the same BCLK. How far you can push the PCI-E, well that is a different story but I didn;t have time to test all of them from that point of view, untill now. One thing I can tell you for sure, with 101 PCI-E I validated all of them between 245 and 247 BCLK - here is Asus's 245 BCLK and here is Gigabyte's 245 BCLK, both at 101 PCI-E. I didn't validate the 245 MSI, but I will when I will test it again. :)
Well....will you think less of me if I tell you that I haven't quite tried pushing BCLK on air? I did some fast 230 on Gigabyte, but that was it, because I knew that the BCLK really depends on cold. So....I dunno, I was focused more on the extreme part and less on the daily-use stuff.
im sooo dissapointed in you... :shakes:
of course not man! :D
thx for the reply anyways :)
its a shame that barely anybody nowadays does direct compares between the top boards... good to see your working on that :toast:
We need more info! :D
Looking pretty interesting so far.
And off topic: is it just me or forums are getting slow?
Well, I can promise you that the next thing I will work on after finishing with this ATI article tonight will be a clash between the titans (P55-UD6, Maximus III, Sabertooth i55 and P55-GD80). Unfortunately, neither DFI, EVGA or Biostar were kind enough to supply a sample in good time, so only Gigabyte, Asus and MSI will be featured in the first comparison.
i only know of 3 people worldwide getting biostar samples so dont feel bad about it LOL
DFI has been strangely quiet about P55... and EVGA too... havent seen a single review of the evga or dfi boards...
i think their boards arent ready yet...
EVGA board is 'ready', delay is at the reviewers end as we have other boards to round up at the same time. DFI, yeah they are still getting ready so you're right on that one.
Well, I got a TPower I45 Biostar sample back in the P45 days, and my coleague got an X58 sample back in the Nehalem days. Now I see that they can't keep up with the samples, and I am sad because they had very good boards on P45 and X58, and I was hoping to see the same thing on P55. EVGA might be ready, but I sure as heck ain't got none, and it kindda feels weird having the Sabertooth before EVGA's P55 board. DFI on the other hand were allways late launchers, so that is not a surprise, that's true :)
Will this board be better MIIIF ?
They (Asus) are putting it on the market just under M3F. As far as OC is concerned, I don;t see why it would be less competitive.
thanks for getting me clear :)
No problem, I am sorry I didn't manage to write about this board yet and test it some more, beeing so busy with 5870/5850 tests :(
