So I was looking back at the beginning of this log and it's crazy to see how far it's come so far. It's gone from this

to this

Well so this post is something other than reminiscing I do have some more info. Pedalmonkey is going to be buying my 4870x2, kb/m, monitor, and some of my spare fans from me. The plan now is to buy three 285GTX's for tri-sli, get a new monitor (either one with a built in webcam for college or a 2048x1152) get razer's wireless mouse and some keyboard I haven't decided on yet. So yeah, there I go again, spending more money but at least I'm not eating the whole cost of my other stuff.

woo, its like K-Mart to Gucci or Prada or what ever else u wana call high end. ooh good one for you. From Toyota to Lotus :P
-
That's my next major investment ;) ... in 20 years...
-
looking good bro! and tri sli 285! good plan... looking forward to that. :D
-
Yeah =) Tri SLI 285GTX's result in the highest FPS in games currently and will be better to over clock instead of two 4870X2's or two 295's. They scale better with three individual cards vs two dual ones. Also I do folding when I can and the 285's spank the 4870X2 so I think all around it's a better choice. Once I sell my stuff to pedalmonkey I'll buy one 285GTX, my 3 SSDs and my new PSU. My old PSU only had two 6 pin and two 8 pins which are great for two 4870X2's but I need 6 6pin for three 285's :)

So I was able to snag some dancer Marley from work yesterday and I'm going to cover almost the whole interior of my case with it as well as the front panel which I've already glued it to and cut to fit. I have pictures on my camera now to give you an idea of how freaking amazing it looks but my cable is at home (I'm at work) so I'll get them up tonight.
-
Small update. I mounted and wired the fans that fit on the 2.5" HDD bay. Wired them in a series so they'll get 6v each and even at 1/2 power those things push a lot of air! I'm surprised how much those 70mm fans can put out! And at 6v they really aren't that loud. 12v they're horrible but I'm not using them at that so it doesn't matter. Also I have a picture of the front of the case covered in some of the dancer marley that I got from work. Ignore the small bubble on the top left. It was a bit longer than the metal there but I fixed it. The whole inside of the case I'm going to line with that instead of the sound dampening material because it looks SOOOO much better. Once I cut the hole under my PSU and the other holes under my mobo I'll put everything back in with the marley so you guys can see.
PS. zipties are god

EDIT: oh and I also got all the pumps wired together as well as the two radiators up front so there's a lot less cables coming from that direction.

Damn bro, and who said at 1200 was a difficult case to mod :P
-
Just gets better and better eh..
-
This really is a pretty creative mod. You're definitely setting the bar pretty high for future 1200 mods!
-
Thank you everyone =) I haven't had a chance to work on it over the last few days because I was at Global at Red Rocks but today I'm going to cut a few more holes behind the mobo and once I get the $ from pedalmonkey tonight and give him his stuff then I'll pick up some contact adhesive so I can apply all the dancer marley where it needs to go and get the mobo back on. I think with the $ I get I'm going to get the rest of the LC stuff, my PSU, and a 285GTX so I can at least get it up and running. I can use my 250GB HDDs outside the case for now until I get enough for my SSDs
-
I can't beleive I've only just seen this worklog. (Just goes to show just how many quality liquid cooling worklogs there are over here at XS you tend to get bogged down in them!)
I like how you've adapted the paraflow for the 1200. I would have previously shunned this case as being unfit for anything but this is a nice build.
The paraflow concept from beast is such a great idea as well to be honest I'm a little surprised that more people haven't taken it up.
-
Thank you I'm glad you like my log :) Yeah when I started doing the whole paraflow idea in my case I was wondering the same thing. I mean it's a great space saver and there are quite a few people that put rads in their drive bays. They could fit twice the cooling power in the same space! Well hopefully more people will see this and more people will start using it. I just got money put in the bank today... now I need to wait for my debit card to come in the mail... ugh

Small update =)

Oh and yesterday I ordered 4 32GB SSDs, a PCI-E 8x controller, one of my 285 GTX's, my PSU, my keyboard and my mouse so that should all be here next Wednesday or Thursday. Oh and I also painted my HDD cage black FINALLY and drilled the mounting holes for it. I'm going to put those 4 SSDs in it that i just ordered in RAID 0 and then 5 500GB HDDs in RAID 5 for storage =) Anyway, that's about all I can do for now till my parts come. The only other case mod I need to do is drill a ~120mm hole bellow the PSU for air since i'm going to be flipping it upside down.
-
can i trade you monitors :P
-
That sort of seems backwards to me haha. I sell you my monitor, buy a new one for more, and then give you my new one and take back the old... I think not ;) I can't wait to see how my boot up time is and how much faster things run in general with my 4 SSDs! Anyway this is the RAID card I got but it was $80 less because it was open box.

nice man, yeah give me a call when ur setting all that up, i'll come over at check it out. Finally u'll have a functioning comp so we can game and stuff. :D
-
Haha yeah although for now it will only be on air. At least till I get my next paycheck. I really don't have that much left. Only a few hundred to and then the rest is adding more video cards and ram and stuff which I can do at any point. I can't wait to get my stuff! I'm really curious to see how fast my read/write speeds are.
-
Alright well I got my parts and everything, they look sick. Went to start my comp and power through the mobo but it won't boot. Took it all out of the case, just ran GPU, CPU and one stick of RAM and nothing, no post or anything. So we put in a new video card and that didn't do jack :banana::banana::banana: so my mobo is DOA... yeah that's great and all but I ordered it 3 months ago and now it's out of newegg's RMA time so I'm going to order a new mobo tomorrow because I want to get it put together before college... so yeah FML. I'll post up pics of the SSDs later though, they look amazing.
-
Alright so a update

http://i143.photobucket.com/albums/r...0/DSC00820.jpg
http://i143.photobucket.com/albums/r...0/DSC00821.jpg
And I just ordered...
EVGA X58 SLI LE motherboard
3x MCW60-R
3x Swiftech 285GTX GPU cover
MCW30
AS5 thermal paste
Heatkiller LT with backplate
And another dimmer knob to use for my pumps
So once that all gets in THEN I will have my computer up and running... a few days before I go to college wooo
-
Tell me what you think of that keyboard, I have been using the new Apple one that is about the same shape, and I love it, but it doesn't have illuminated keys, so I was checking out that Logitech.
-
I still have yet to cut the front panel. I'm gong to have the air exhaust through that since the whole point of a paraflow is to keep the hot air out of the case and by adding that wall it helped achieve that as well. I'll figure out a way to keep it clean though don't you worry ;)
EDIT: oh and as far as the keyboard goes, I LOVE it so far. I haven't installed the drivers on anything yet because I don't have a computer where it will stay long enough but it's awesome.
-
Wow, I just stumbled upon this log. Subbed.
I really like the transformation from the beginning to teh end. At first, I was a little worried about how it would turn out, but it looks great now.
-
Thank you =) Yeah at the beginning it looked like crap haha. It's taking a while to get done but hey, at least it's getting done at all.
