The stock timings should be 6-6-6-18, I haven't yet fiddled with the memory settings yet, as I'm still trying to figure this out. I'm getting a good deal on 2x2gb DDR2 800 RAM Crucial BallistiX Tracers.. I was just wondering, will this be a good fit with my current hardware? I've read reviews that it could reach 1200mhz as well. Assuming my systems' capable of this, hope this doesn't cause any bottleneck with my current hardware.

Well,
I have that set of RAM,
I can only get them to 1020 or so.......
(but im sure somone who knows what they are doing could do better)
Also, if you are just running the same FSB, just increase the multi, then the RAM isnt holding you back at the moment.....

I just got my Crucial 4gb memory. I can honestly say that this is way better than the generic Kingston modules I got previously.. Though the flashing LEDs on the modules makes my case blink like Christmas lights..Currently using Prime95 to stress test. Any other good stress test apps you guys can recommend?

My max VID is very similar - 1.225v, what PLL voltage are you using? mines at 1.6v atm.

Most of the crucial I've used can do DDR2-1000 to 1100 fairly easily with relaxed timings. Even some of the newer stuff will do 1000 with as little as 2.0v running 5-5-5-15 or 6-6-6-18.

Alright. I'm back, an this time its PERSONAL with this E7200! I'm armed with my trusty metalwork sandpaper, a small pouch of water, a solid flat surface and 44 grams of AS Ceramique! Batton down the hatches! I'm going in!

Pop the IHS might be way more worthwhile mate

I doubt it, with the IHS on stock temps are very good, measuring core temp and not IHS temp both cores are 35c, the IHS is deffinately flat now :up: No more 5-6c temp diff between cores. Maybe I can get 3.8-4GHz now. Not holding my breath, but my fingers are crossed :D

Well.. my P5Q Pro is going to be off on a RMA soon. Its decided to get REALLY flaky and won't even boot with stock settings half of the time :rolleyes: I always thought something was iffy with this board but thought it was just my imagination.

I have E7200 with the asus P5Q pro.
The best stable clock I've had is 3.3G@1.4v.
I have been losing my hair and brain cells for a few months over this set up!:confused:
I can get her to boot into 3.5/3.6, but requires high V's and no matter what i do i can not get it stable:mad:
So the P5Q pro is going and i am going with a Gigabyte GA-EP45-UD3P.
I hoping I won't be wasting money on buying a new board, but i am pretty sure its the mobo thats the problem!!

I'm very tempted to pull my X3330 out of my P45 Neo3-FR and toss this E7500 into it and see what it'll do. I've had great luck clocking the P45 board and i'm wondering if my lack of 780i knowledge is holding me back.

Its not the board. My E7200 does 3.6GHz 1.45v in both the Pro and TPower, its just my luck I got a brand new replacement board thats seemed flaky from day 1 (but worked fine all the same.. hence me thinking it was my imagination) in return for a board I RMAd due to a fan sensor that was iffy.

Stable 3.6 I wish.... Like i said, i've tried for about 2 months trying to get a stable 3.5/3.6 with no success.

Sounds like you got a particularly bad chip for clocking :(

So you think its defo the cpu, So i am gonna be wasting my money on a new mobo.

I'd think so yea. No mobo would be THAT bad at clocking a E7200, especially the P5Q Pro. It would take a special kind of retarded lemon of a board to not be able to clock a E7200.

Well the E7400 caught my eye 1st... then i looked at the bigger L2 cache on the 8400 and that sealed it.

I have some problem now. I took all the parts out to do some mod to case,
later I put back all the stuff, and now want to run 3,8Ghz 1.32 V(cpuz) (1,34v on easytune) :shrug:
if i set sams settings what in screen orhos gives error. unstable..wtf :(

I got a e7300 to replace my e5200. Will get it this monday. My e5200 did 3.5ghz gamestable but not prime or occt and 4.3ghz sp1 on air and roomtemped air! xD

Well, I've got a 7200 that I've had a drag of a time getting it stable above 3.8GHZ without resorting to huge voltages.

I got it stable at 3.847GHz at 1.26-1.28V for one hour run on OCCT....but Core 0 got to 63C. Second core, Core 1, runs typically 5C behind it....it never creasted 58C during the OCCT run. I dialed it back to 3.75GHz on 1.24V.

Setup is:

E7200
Asus Maximus Formula mb
4 x 2GB Mushkin Redline
2 SATA II hd's
4870 1GB video

Watercooling with D-Tek Fuzion v2, EK S-Max NB block, DDC2 pump w/XSPC top, Feser 240 rad and MCR-120 rad.

Well, guess I'm not doing too bad, but while I had it up at 4.01GHz, it failed OCCT within 20 sec, despite it being at 1.3V.

C'est la vie.....cannot have everything.

I got my E7300 today but its not a worldbreaker... 3.8ghz is stable with 1.325v but bsods when entering windows with 1.315v :S Also i cant get it sp1 stable at 4ghz with up to as much as 1.4v. When i tried lowering the multi upping the fsb the max fsb was around 510.

The settings i run is 400x9.5 and if i try 400x10 its a no go. Why is it like that?
