You make some good points, the dollar is weak but to give an example of someone doing well, a few of my friends handle bankruptcies, there business is booming, another friend owns a auto repair shop he says his business is doing better then it has in 25 years.

As far as "a bunch of hardware that all runs about the same" this is xtreme systems and every little bit counts;)

Honestly most of the folks that frequent enthusiast computer sites aren't poverty stricken. :D

My aftermarket computer parts are still selling, and we are just as busy as ever at my day job.



It was all hypothetical... all I was really saying was that if you threw everything out the window and looked with a pretty blurry view, it's all pretty much the same.

I just switched from a 4870 1Gb to a GTX260 55nm for the heck of it, and while the GTX260 is supposed to be slightly faster, all I noticed was a little difference in HDR rendering and colors.

Saw that earlier today(night) searching for info on the subject.

Must say I feel a little "stupid" not checking more before buying. :(
Maybee a cheaper 780G/SB600 based mb would work just as well with PHII.
The USB performance sucks just as much on SB750 as SB600 according to reviews. But that and SATA-features I could not care less about.
If it OC well, all well. :D

Anyhow, I shall build a mAtx rig (Antec Performance One Mini) so the only real option I thought was the DFI board.(Going for 790GX).
It looks good, had some decent reviews (I could find), has 8-pin CPU (maybee not that important) and possible to run XFire in a mAtx board.

Hope it will work well with the X4 920 I will put in it. :)

Esau was never bad and he seemed to always have an idea of what was going on. he got banned for cussing out an intel fanboy.

no he got banned for trash talking the XS forum itself because of the Ad support that was added. I think he is a good guy but he did cross the line so gotta do the time.

I'm sure that comment about XS "whoring" themselves added to his ban more than anything. Look at his last post. Either way, that one comment was a big enough reason than getting into it with an Inteliot. They randomly troll the AMD section anyway with their tripe on the regular. So I doubt it was the him talking smack. It's not cool to crap on a place that let's you use their site for free. They have every right to make revenues any way they see fit. His comment was just uncalled for IMO. This place doesn't operate for free ya' know.

back to topic, anyone has spoted a review of a P2 on a 780G mobo?

Im especial interested in power conumption on this platform. I wonder if P2 runs on the Jetway NC81-LF (mini-Itx board) would make a great HTPC or a SFF cruncher. :D

These number are from a MSI DKA790GX Platnum System......(Firing Squad) BTW, a PII or even a regular Phenom would be a waste in a HTPC. A Dually is all that's need for a HTPC unless you are doing some big time gaming at high res....If so then you need a high end gaming PC. I have a 45W Dually in my HTPC that runs 1280X720p(Projector) and all is well.

It depends on wat are you doing with the "HTPC", sure for only watching it would be enough, but converting and/or folding a dual is not enough. ;)
