They raised the wall after he entered the room. Now he can't get out anymore, but that was my ... eeeeh ... their idea :D
Charles. I am loving that workshop. It has so much potential, and that view really takes the cake. Although I must admit that if it weren't for your far superior photography skills, we wouldn't be having the same reaction, lol.
Now put some carpet on that floor! :p:
dang, that room had me fooled. i never thought you were on the roof, figured it was the basement. no windows, cement walls, the pipes
Thank you James. :)
That sunset was really something! I actually took 400 pics which I know is insane, but it just got better and better.
Thanks for the very kind words Muki. :)
Cheers Daniel. :)
I can't wait to take some pics up there - I just need to get the table. Your case will be the first to be photographed. :yepp:
Cheers Marin. :)
Thanks Henry. :)
Thank you Daniel. :)
I can't wait to get the room ready for work!
It's much better than the place I used previously... believe me!
hehe, good catch Rocky. The entrance is to the right of the cardboard boxes.
They're not hidden... they're in the back garden where they belong!

Indeed! Cheers. :)
hehe, Cheers tamtam. Excellent use of emoticons to tell a story! :)
I'll take a shot of the entrance... I warn you that it's not very interesting. :)
When I move to Germany you can entomb me, until then I'm FREEEEEEEEE! :ROTF:
Cheers Jason. :)
No carpet - makes for harder cleaning of tiny metal bits. Don't worry; I've got my bunny slippers for when it gets cold. :)
That's what I love about it - looks like a subterranean lair from the inside... then you open the door and POW!
murderShop Update:
Whipped up the murderBench in 3d. Nothing fancy, just something solid.

Ignore the colors - it won't be painted. :)

I likes 'em high so it will be pretty tall. I'll also build a shelf into the base for storage. As an Aquarist who builds his own tank stands, I'm a classic overbuilder. Pretty much everything I build out of wood is overbuilt. It's a sickness really... Well, if I ever decide to get a 300 Gallon tank, I'll have a stand. ;)
Anyway, here's the lumber. Now where did I put those instructions...

Now we know why his name is 'Harwood' :).
Damn i didn't know you live in Vancouver until i saw science world lol...great work man
wow, not only is that a great shop, but real world lighting will make your photo's even better..
I must say that your an amazing photographer, those pictures were great, and a few deserve to go in XS Xtreme Photography section I think. lol. I only WISH I could take photo's like that.
Good luck with your new shop, and I look forward to seeing your work. and I must say, one day i WILL own one of your pieces of art that we all call computer cases.
Well, Charles wonderful work..now I know what drives you, What a view, really it inspires one to do great things. Charles, thanks a lot for helping me with the whole hole tapping project on the 900. I finally got it done and powder coated that case. I am starting on another one..hopefully, soon I will have the TJ-07 to play with and integrate some murdermods to it.
Your work is truly amazing...not to mention your advice, thanks Charles..Looking forward in reading about your projects some more.
Hey...watch it now, those are my cousins!
hehe, have you seen the price of TJ07s lately? If the price keeps going up I'll have to have them transported by armored car!
Actually, it's funny how often people spell my name Hardwood.
I guess it's better than Softwood. ;)
Thanks Jaivan. :)
Wow, thank you for taking the time to say that; I really appreciate your kind words and support. :)
Thanks Habib (I'm assuming that's you). It's been my pleasure to help; I'm glad to hear you're making good progress there.
I hope you're planning to do a worklog of your upcoming TJ-07 project. :)
This explains a lot... :p:
murderShop Canada Update: Got the main workbench finished - coating the topside with Minwax Helmsman Spar Urethane took a few days, what with all the coating, waiting and sanding. Five coats seamed to do the trick, hopefully it will give me a resilient surface. The final step was the lighting which I got from Home Despot. I went with two 4-foot strips of T-8's w/ reflectors. They're not too pricey and do a nice job. I put rubber pads under the legs to help absorb impacts and reduce their transfer down into the building.
Wednesday I will start using the bench as I have much to do and no time to waste! The rest of the shop will be filled out over time; things like a rolling mechanics tool chest, standing metal tool cabinets and a built in wall storage unit for parts. I like having a place for everything and effectively using up all available wall space. I'll probably build another largish table on wheel that will be used to layout parts and whatnot. The rest I'll figure out as I go. :)
Anyway, no post is complete without pics so here are a trio. Nothing exciting I'm afraid - just proof I actually completed the workbench. :yepp:
