yea, thats why BP needs to come out with there aqua sink, theres that open slot for there GPU block which would work in this case.

there is .2" +/- .015 clearance from the actual ram and the block.

also the dimensions are based off the 4870 since i need a single slot solution for my current build, unless i get some ek blocks... :rolleyes:

... anyone know how much a CNC costs? Evil, why can't you be working for one of the WB manufacturers and actually making these! That design right there is more or less exactly what I've been looking for.

what? what do you mean? the extension is milled from a solid block, the oring seals the top to the bottom

as evil agree'd and i said, it wont work.

because you got ram under the water chanel. Unless evil can make the block fit the 2 ram's and core.

But then it would be gpu specific. You see? your going around an endless wheel like a hamster.

Ok, what am I missing here. These look like they're designed to fit on top of D-Tek unisinks. How would these not work in conjunction with the unisinks? Obviously of course you'd need a different unisink for each card, but that would still be a little better than a completely new block for each card.

In short,

1. Its predetermined setting, which destorys the whole point of a core only block. Meaning its selective in what it fits on.

2. there is .2" +/- .015 clearance.. Do i need to say more? :rofl:

I am a mechanical engineering student and have worked alot with AutoCAD. It can render but nothing like this. What software did you use to make renders like this. did you draw it in a CAD program first. I have worked in SolidWorks and have never seen a render program that good. But i do have access to a CAD machine as well as a 3D laser printer for rapid prototypes.

I am thinking about getting some copper stock and making some custom waterblocks. I want to watercool my Areca SAS controller. It gets ALOT hotter than you would think. I had an Adaptec 5405 and it had a 256MB of DDR2 and a 1.2 Ghz processor and passive cooling. It would shut down within 30 minutes from heat do I made a heatsink for it with a fan

the models are made in inventor which is a 3D solid CAD software
models are then imported into 3dsmax which there i setup and render
into Maxwell Render.

give ne some dimensions of the Areca SAS controller, ill have you a
drawing in no time.

One quick question as i have no expertise in autocad : how do i export from autocad or some mechanical drawing software to a file that is needed by a CNC machine.

Well, it's similar in that both of them are waterblocks for a graphics card, but aside from that pretty much every other aspect of them is completely different. Also, you shouldn't just post a link with no explanation of what the link is, that's really rather poor etiquette on a forum.

Just outta curiosity Evil-98, are any of the file formats you use of a type that can be directly inputted into a non manual CNC machine? That would be key right there if you can just take what you design and email/bring on a flash drive/CD to a CNC place and all the other work gets automatically done.
