Definitely mine next am2 mbo...
That JR board is nice, although IMO only for SFF/HTPC use. However, when Deneb is out Ive a spare 9850BE... Might as well grab that little baby:cool:
Dag nabbit. The first wave of 790GX boards have all landed and there isn't a single 3 or 4 slotter among them. I must have a minimum of 3 x8+ slots, 4 is better, and 5 would be ideal.
And you probably wonīt be seeing much over 3 slots either, as it only has 26lanes. 4 are used for southbridge, 16 for 1/2 slots and that leaves 6 lanes for other.
Asus having 3 slots, highly probable that itīs a 4x electrical. 2 lanes over for 1x slots or something :S
I'm with you on that one Particle:) Although the onboard IGP in conjunction with a ATI Card is appealing. Just wish there was more slots on the motherboard as I need atleast 2 PCI Slots one for sound card and the other for my parallel Card for my Laser FAX/Printer
TBH, it seems like RS780D wont offer the same power saving features as nVidia has with their Hybrid SLI. So to be honest, I hardly see a reason in the first place to grab a RS780D board unless you're a HD 34x0 die-hard fan/HTPC/SFF user.
Just get the RD790/SB750 combo;)
As far as I know this is the only one,but I am not 100%
and btw AMD loves the students:;)

EDIT*
I think Bingo13's "bad secret" was the 150$ price range, think the Biostar is 99$ on the egg...........
*slobber*
Those DFIs look really nice...
Good to see old PCI still hanging in there.
Wristband carrier for a thumbdrive?!!?

Glad to see someone think I'm not being absurd for once!
I currently have the following PCIe cards:
- 1 PCIe x1 sound card
- 2 PCIe x16 video cards
- 1 PCIe x8 RAID controller
I would like to add:
- 1 PCIe x1 10/100/1000 NIC
- 2 PCIe x16 video cards
I guess I'd need a 7-slot board for that, which is unlikely. :) I can live with just the two 4850s and the PCI NIC I'm using, which means I need a minimum of 3 PCIe x8 slots and 1 PCIe x1 slot unless I want to downgrade. I don't think any amount of higher clock speeds from an SB750 board is going to make up for that missing video card. heh

much lower power consumption with same vcore/mhz:hehe:
Hmm...
That's a lot for just the chipset...

Sweet. I'll have to check it out.
