Whoa!! It's D-Tek's new GPU block

I just got mine today, hooked it up on my 8600gts , looks very stealthy and indeed way lower than my MAZE4 i previously had..
i still have a 2nd 8600gts with stock hsf, itching for any gpu block on that, even a mcw60 now even..well have pics of block/card soon!

Currently trying a test run with my 8800gts g92 and the new fuzion block. It easily shaved 10c off the stock cooler on max speed. Idle temp 26c, 3dmark run hit 30c max. This was all done on a fresh coat of ac5, so temps might drop even more give a week or two. :D

30c max? Compared to my stock cooler that would be about 50C less! How is your stock cooler keeping your card at 40C on load????

Well, after upgrading the driver to 177.41 to follow the advice of Scott LeGrand (NVIDIA CUDA developer), the issues I had disappeared so it's the driver. With this out of the way, the video card is rock stable so it's now time to finally assemble it.

Now that it's put back in the loop, the GPU is hovering at about 41C running the F@H GPU2 client, which is great while it hover at about 54C with the stock cooler running the fan at 70%. The only bad thing about that setup is that the barbs orientation is not optimal so I must try to route so it doesn't hit or rest on the side panel. I guess a couple of 90 degrees elbows can solve it but since it's working as is, I'll leave it alone.

Fan at 100%, very very loud though... Hence the watercooling :D

how does this block compare to the mcw-60. anyone tested that yet? haven't decided if i want to get a mcw-60 or a gfx2 for my 4870 yet.

On a GPU, a few degrees difference won't really matter since most GPU is volt-limited, not temp limited. I like my block but never used the MCW60 so I cannot make a comment about which one is better. However, with the fact that D-tek make unisinks, this is the deciding factor :up:

ya im one of those people that would kill for lower temps even if it doesn't do anything :P. i was planning to get the mcw-60 or the gfx2 and then get some mc14 ramsinks and mc21 mosfet sinks and then my zm-f3 will be blowing on it from the side fan on the case. :up: hoping that will take care of it.

The rad for the ram and mofset is hot ? Need fans ?

was gonna use the heatsinks and have my fan from the side of my case blow on it to take care of ram and mosfets.

I touched it while running under load and it's warm to the touch but not too hot. However, I have a 120mm fan blowing across the card from the front to the back.
