I will check on the next run and let you know :)
thanks Clunk :) it just amazes me how DFI tapped Thermalright to do their sinks...maybe soon DFI would tap EK/Swiftech/D-Tek...? :D
Recenlty made the switch from the shipped BIOS (05/21) to the newer (06/09 Beta) and quickly realized big improvments, especially with 7-7-7 clocking as Eva2000 mentioned! It also fixed a new minor issues I was having when restarting the motherboard (if I shut down the motherboard and went back some time later to start up the board wouldn't post. I would have to either manually reset the board a handful of times or clear CMOS and start over). Now it starts right up with no issues what-so-ever which is great news! At the moment I'm having decent stability at 450Mhz x 8.0x with 7-7-7-21 1T. Granted the performance isn't great because I've got plenty more DRAM settings to tighten up but I'm happy to have made some progress over 05/21!

Can anyone confirm for me if there is any performance/stability issues if you use the yellow memory slots over the green? I ordered the new OCZ Flex II memory along with this board but won't be able to use those big heatsinks on the memory made for water-cooling, if I put them in the green slots and the Thermalright HR-05 northbridge cooler...I will have to use the yellow slots so if any of you guys could comment on how well those slots work with your memory, I'd appreciate it much. Thank You.
The yellow slots seem slightly better then the green. Those are the slots I used in the screenshot on the proceeding page.
Forgot to mention, has anyone tried sub-zero cooling with this mobo yet?
Yeah same here, yellow slots are fine and probably better from what most people say (people far more knowledgable than myself)!
Thanks Roger...I just took a look at the first page and after looking at the pics, realized that my memory's heatsinks would be in conflict with the Thermalright heatsink...for the longest, I've just popped my memory into the first slots...I guess it just became habbit after doing it for so long...I can't wait to play with this board tonight with regular air-cooling...then in a few weeks everything goes into a custom phase change system being built for me...should be a lot of fun with my 9770 that has been sitting in me bedroom unopened for 2 months now.
Here :)
the last run was just to see how high it would go with the 9.5 multi at 1:2. I was hoping to get to 500/2000 but i was just short of that at 488/1952.
Going to try with a lower multi and see what I can get :)
just bought this board and got some problems.
first the LED display C1 then after 5 seconds it changes to 01 and stays 01. How do i fix this?
im using stock bios with this board and im using Team Xtreme DDR3-1600.
I had similar issue when I first got the board as well. I ended up just clearing the CMOS a few times and then made sure I went through the entire BIOS making sure all my settings were very stable (just to get things up and running and to install Windows). Once I had the OS installed I went back into BIOS and started playing around a bit more. I don't know how much experience you have but there are many settings on the board which can cause your situation to happen. Plus make sure you have all the HDD/Sata settings correct so that it recognizes your HDD's. My manual is put away in the box right now but check yours and see if it lists the "01" setting, it migth help you get started. Again however in my case I just manually cleared the CMOS (using the two onboard PWR +RESET buttons) and it eventually booted up! Good luck.
Crap, didn't even think about that Praz but I bet your right! In my case I was able to initially boot because my modules default SPD is 9-9-9-24 but one of the first things I did was manually set timings to 7-7-7 on 05/21. That is when the fun began because at the time I had no idea that 05/21 had this problem? Good point!
i cant even change the spd since i cant go to bios. my monitor wont display anything. i tried 3870x2, 3870 and 7300gt but still nothing.
Need to borrow jhay's set of ram. :D
I think this might help, and they seem to be very cheap, much cheaper than buying a new stick of ram to get it working:

thanks Praz!
Striker 2 Extreme is now retired (thank god) in the box and DFI X48 T3Rs mounted and booted up directly without a hickup, really looking forward to this mobo:-)
