the crazy part is in F2 bios on this mutant board (x48 rev1.0 PCB with X38 NB)
if you select 1.7v or 1.75v in bios check what the actual vcore is :shocked: :shocked: :shocked: :shocked: :shocked: :shocked: :shocked: :shocked: :shocked:
all i can say is i feel very lucky i am using this little Cellery 460 for testing and this son of a :banana::banana::banana::banana::banana: has survived 2v before :D

ok, i see that you revised your post to drop the "T" from the bios version...obviously, it is for the DDR2 board.
Guys, hopefully you could help a Gigabyte newbie out here. I've just crossed over the the X48-DQ6 (DDR2) due to a coolant leak that took out my Maximus Formula. :down:
I'm only just getting to grips with a new BIOS but at the moment am struggling to get anywhere near the performance out of this; I've managed to get my FSB up to 400MHz but my memory write / read / copy is down according to Sandra.
The BIOS is totally different to the 680i & ASUS incarnations so if any of you would feel generous enough to give me some pointers, post your BIOS settings or point me in the right direction for me to stop regretting buying this board I'd be a happy bunny. I just havent a clue at the moment :shrug:
Thanks in advance; hopefully I'll get somewhere before my patience wears out & the board becomes an interesting looking door wedge.
haha adjust just vdimm and vcore and enable loadline.. the rest of the volts should do fine on its own :D

This is from my X38 Dq6 9x400 Prime stable but should give you a starting point, getting to grips with the new bios. , The bios layout is the same for x38/x48 .

Cheers for the starter matey, I'll give them a go in a few minutes! As for the BIOS being the same for both X38 / X48, I'm pretty sure that they are, its just a big difference in how its presented between my old ASUS & this new Gigabyte :shrug:
I guess there's a chance to shout RTFM at me; didnt realise there were hidden BIOS settings that can only be seen after a CTRL + F1 :confused:

Doesn't do anything for me, was playing previously at 520x8@3.33D 1,733 7,7,7,12 benched great on F5A wouldn't post on F5C. Despite reflashing was getting some odd actions with the CPU Host clock comtrol. wouldn't stick on manual.Quote:

So far the x48 seems a step backwards compared to my Gigabyte p35c ... I assumed it would be simple enough to just use the BIOS settings from the p35c especially the memory settings but when I try the x48 just locks up ...
In memset (the pic shows the settings from my p35c) as soon as I change the performance level from 7 to 6 the board locks up, with the p35c the performance setting is set to extreme in the BIOS and the thing chugs along 24/7 ... I am going to wait for a a couple of bios updates which i hope will fix the performance probs and lockups before I try the board again
Performance level depends on the FSB, FSB Strap, RAM Divider, and 1-2 RAM 'timings'.
Also, I've noticed that X38/X48 has stricter chipset timings at a higher ( worse ) performance level compared to P35.
What I achieve with P35 @ PL6, is achieved with the X48 @ PL7... not just reached, but surpassed as well.
PL5 at the settings you're showing would require some high voltage for the MCH ( NB ) to be reached.
Unless you're taking part in seriously competitive benchmarking, then it's not worth the risk to give such voltages to the MCH.
