LOL........Whats up Dave:D
Just looking in and making sure the flames aren't waist high yet..:D
I'll grant you, boards are issues, now you know why I use server hardware.
My guess is you need 2 systems, one for that humongus raid deal and one for that Q6600..
I do have a DX3600 system with PCI-e X16 and X4 slots on a SM X6DA8-G2 board that might solve your problems..;)

Well my intension's at this point Dave is 2 68w Barcelona's on Dual Socket F 4gb Ram permanent home for my storage and a dedicated work station server worthy of my needs and expectations. This system that I am on now will be strickly for blowing up:D
"Trying" is a word that you should have included.:D
Now I have many times where I want to write " you stupid SOB" to some guy whose obviously trolling to get people's anger up but I don't.
It doesn't accomplish anything and just gives the troll what he wants..attention..
The key on trolls is to always ignore them, thats what frustrates them the most and on people with a different opinion, attack the argument, not the man.
ok, thats the lesson for today..:D
what up stephan? how you always get the cool ass chips ( fx 57, venice, and now this!!!! ) best of luck with ur benchies. i say 3.5 ghz 1.49 volts. :) hope i'm right
You will need a new BIOS for it to work properly, also, we found boards produced before March has some other "issues" with them regarding POST routines, stability, and the like. ASUS should have a new BIOS shortly but they are more concerned this weekend with getting their server boards up to speed. ;) The same holds true for several Tyan, ASUS, and Gigabyte server boards, latest revs and BIOSs work fine now, they all still need further tuning in my opinion. Overall, even on a server board, the latest silicon is shaping up nicely when compared on a clock to clock basis with Clovertown but Tigerton throws a wrench into the launch tomorrow.
s7,
those are B1s and are subject to errata #281. you're going to get really :banana::banana::banana:astic results (i've got 6 of them).
BIOS 0506 for the L1N64 should work (and i can send it to you) but you might only be able to use a single processor slot.
:)
a little ahead of you here. :)

We had plenty of experience with cards not being seated 100% and POST problems. The board particularly does not like the PCI-E physX card. We eventually got it to comply but now board is in line to RMA again after what seems to be a failed flash. We've already spent an hour pullnig everything and resetting the CMOS a thousand times to no avail.
is it just me or does it seem feature rich, fully loaded enthusiasts boards similar to this one tend to be a bit finicky to setup and picky on how they're configured?
That tends to be the case since more features = more bios/hw config possibilities = large headaches in the end :D A large reason why no other mobo maker decided to take on the task of producing an enthusiast 2p board such as the L1n64 has to do with support. Asus just avoids this problem by just not offering any :p:
if you want to swap bios revs, s7, let me know.
if Mr. C***g provided that bios to you, then good luck. you're right, it doesn't work.
all my tyan bioses have come from AMD, not Tyan. :)

It's 00.00 CET 10th September. Results? :D
well a little teaser I found to while away the hours (at least here in Europe we'll be in bed for the next 6 hours :) )

Thanks Motiv for the screenies! I suspect you haven't toyed much with overclocking it yet?
Here in Spain is sleeping time, but i prefer to wait. I NEED results:p:
Another useless B0 bench...
I do hope the Asus gets it's BIOS worked out.. I was planning on using it with some dual barcelona's as my engineering rig for a year or two.
wouldn't count on official support regarding that. ;) remember, opteron is strictly the AMD workstation, etc. board....I'd HIGHLY recommend the upcoming S2915E and S3992E revisions as they support dual HT links and split-plane power management (core & mc discrete)
