Hmm it seems you've got a similar clocker to mine:D Nice cpu turtletrax:up: I bet your cpu does much better on a P35.

Hmm it seems you've got a similar clocker to mine:D Nice cpu turtletrax:up: I bet your cpu does much better on a P35.
Thanks nj ;)
What amazes me is the Vcore needed for 3.6ghz. I can prime all day long with 1.36Vcore and load temps of 45c. This is my 24/7 OC and I am really happy with that.
Looking forward to a new board, but wont pull the trigger untill X38/48 rear their heads. Hoping to match your stellar OC
Oh just wait till you put the cpu in a P35 you'll see you can use lower vcore for 3.6ghz. Just remember on P35 to set all volts manually because when on auto they raise automatically with the fsb;)
You'll see very little if any performance increase with x38. So, this is why I am staying with P35 till x48 is available:)
Hmmmm, your not helping my wallet nj :p:
I am hoping to sell my 680i to a friend (thats you patriote!!!:D ). As soon as I do I will decide. I dunno if I will go with the P5K premium or the DFI. Hmmm, so many decisions!!!
Is there a 4Ghz Quad club yet??? If not, we need an Avatar and a new thread for application
Any thoughts nj or others??
Edit: Post 300 :) At this pace I should have 1000 in about 6 years :ROTF:
I'll be in on that  I've got 4Ghz stable on my Q6600, but I'm trying to get this now
http://valid.x86-secret.com/show_oc.php?id=241138
It'll pass for about 1 hour then a core craps out on me, while the other 3 soldier on. I'm going to try lapping it and see if that helps tomorrow, if not I'll post my 4Ghz stable results :)
how long do you want prime ss to be?
Q6600 G0 - L727A918 - 3.82Ghz P stable - WC Apogee GT - 1.48v (actual) - ASUS Striker Extreme - by --------linflas
Yes I let prime run longer than what is seen, currently Crunching WCG on it all 4 cores loaded 100% with valid results. (Also playing a little Quake Wars Beta, worth the purchase looks like)

I would much rather have this stable, but for the life of me cannot get the Striker to co-operate.

Well we should get this going... PM me if you have thoughts on how we should go about that. Also if you know any Choppers we should get an Avatar started.
@ Linflas
Dont know allot about the Striker but my EVGA needed me to lower the SPP/MCP links to 4X to get stable at high clocks. Is there any such setting on the Striker?
EDIT: Hey CraptacularOne, have you tried this setting on your EVGA?? If not give it a shot. Even a 3X might get you stable too. That and cranking the HT Voltage were the main things that helped my last MHz.
I haven't tried that yet, but I'll give it a shot this evening
@ johnsally, give me a couple hours of prime and I'll take your word that it's stable
Like I said earlier in this thread, this isn't a bragging rights thread, this thread is meant to help people who are looking for a good stepping to overclock with ;)
I am not sure why you posted this, but if it is reference to the screen shot of 4.1 I posted, my apologies, the first clock I posted is my current 24/7, which is crunching WCG 24/7 100% on all cores as we speak. Giving valid results, about as stable as it gets.
The 4.1 was posted because Turtle had been working on higher clocks, and he is also on a 680i chipset, so I thought I might be able to get a few tips, which he has already been nice enough to add.
did not mean to spam your thread.
I think that a minimal prime time limit needs to be set, in order to compare our resualts..Its pointless that some folks are posting 15-30min prime shots, while others are realy trying to be 'transparent' with their overclocks, so i vote for minimal 1h of prime95 in order to be on the OC database list..Also separate the Superpi tests as they are useless, regarding stability..
No, it wasn't in reference to you or anyone in general :toast: It was made in the hopes that people wont just post BS stable clocks :)
As for the time requirement, as I said before I really have no way of validating that, as anyone can copy and paste whatever they want for times, so it's going to be on the honor system. That's why I ask that we keep things honest :)

stay tuned for more I am still not done with this one yet, plus I have another chip to test.
Wow CraptacularOne, those are :banana::banana::banana::banana:in' mem freqencies with 4GB. What voltage are you running to them?? I would love that!!
Here's my latest Q6600 OC:

Note: the ram settings should be 5-5-5-15 & DDR2. The stupid CPUZ thinks I have a lot of extra cash to throw around to buy DDR3!
I will be working on getting this prime stable @ 8 hours or more. I don't have time as I need this computer for research atm.
I might be able to lower the voltage a tad, but it seems to require a TON of voltage to stay stable:
cpu: 1.5875v
Dram: 2.3v
NB: 1.55v
Pushing anything past 425x9 blue screens with prime95. I think its due to having ddr2 800 instead of ddr2 1066. I should have dropped a little more chash. Oh well.
This isn't what I was hoping for, but considering some can't even get 3.5ghz stable, I'll take 3.8 stable or maybe a bit lower if I can get much tighter ram timings.
List updated :toast:
@ Synthetickiller, I need your FPO batch number to make your result useful to the table :)
@ turtletrax, I'm running 2.4v to them
@ no_n|ck, I have taken your request and separated the Pi results from the main data base :toast:
Here's my first entry. I sure i am being seriously held back by the striker extreme at the minute so seriously tempted to get the ASUS Blitz Formula edition. (Any one have any thought on this). Also is it true that i could end up using less voltage to the CPu to get the same clocks??
