Nah no 'official' links, just some comments by users in the Overclockers Australia forum, that I relayed to this thread.
Ill try and get some official links or something tonight, if not then in the next 24 hours....Id be interested to find if this is true or not as well.

I think I could get my hands on an MSI Neo 865, for trade, is it really showing these types of benchies? is there a review OPP is working on?
too bad IC-7 only offers 2.8V vdimm by default
the vdimm mod seems a bit tricky too.
seems like 4pca3+ and vcore mod is the easier way to go.

In looking at the benchies I have seen at 1:1 vs 5:4 I would take a guess and say it is true.
I have also heard that Abit , (and others) is working on a bios that will fix that, or at the very least give higher performance in one way or another.
I just wonder.....What's the highest speed that you can bench S-Sandra Arithmetic benchmark with HT enable???.....NOT for the M8 who opened this thread......I'm talking in "general"......Could you post(all of you) your MAX frequency S-Sandra Arithmetic bench with HT enable so as to see what's going on when both of the CPU's are working together?......Thanks...... :)
YES my IS7 only allows for 2.8VDIMM, and it's killing me at the moment!
Little volt mod on mine and im up to 2.96 vmem.

BTW, mem benches are no brainers with the 2.4 and low multiplier. The problem is that I just haven't seen many 2.4s hit the 4.1Ghz mark yet. I'll take the extra CPU clock over FSB any day:)

I am curious with your first impressions...
Here's the rub. Poeple probably think I'm crazy, but I've had a brand new Prometeia here for over three months and haven't been using it. I had so many contact problems with the AMD kit. And I've done everything by the book. I used the correct plexi-shim which cut around the surface SMD's on the Thoroughbred, and the bracket is mountted correctly. Where the complications begin are when attimpting to align the Microfreezer head with the clamp, and processor surface. There's a twisting tention when attempting to mate the microfreezer to the processor. The amount of tension literally twists the sticky sealant which is very rigid, when holding the condensation plastic mounts which surround the Ziff socket.
While trying to tighten down the screws through the microfreezer, there's a lot of tension, and hard to determine when their tight. Six spacers per side, and my Die temp was 10-15C (+), while microfreezer temp read -33C. I learned this may be normal with the Epox 8K9A (I also tried the 8RDA with equal pressure even though the Ziff socket faces horizontal as opposed to vertical 8K9A).
After those experiences I gues I became dissillusioned until I found an Intel, because feel the surface of the Microfreezer head, will mate much better with the Intel's IHS. Unfortunately I would have put in yesterday now that I know this processor can reach 4GHz easy. This because at 3.6GHz it only requires 1.550 Vcore, and temp's air cooled with Thermalright SLK900U and Vantec Tornado 92mm/119CFM are only 36C. HOWEVER what's holding me back is the 875P-MCH. This is because I own an ABit IS7-E which is a 865 (really a reject 875P so their identical) which failed Intel's binning process for their 875P. It been shown by reviewer's and end-users, that a 300FSB is all that's attainable with an unmodded IS7, or just about any 865PE board.
Someone is helping me out with one soon, once I get an 875 baords then it'll be woirth placing on the Prommie. I beleive even the Promimie can't push the 865 version MCH, past 300FSB, even if the microfreezer where on the NB.
I attained 300FSB with 4x256MB GolD 3700 Dual at 2.5-4-4-8. However the memory isn't at fault, the bottleneck is the NB.
