Mine would not do DDR2-1000 without 2.4v on the P5W. I can't remember what it wsa on the AW9D-Max but it was set lower(I think the abit overvolts).

I have P5B I can throw them in and I just might do that if I get lucky and get a new single card video solution late this week. If I break a little time away from gaming in the next few days, I might keep flogging them in any case.

If you're a gamer on a budget and want to put more money into your video card (and you should) these sticks are a great deal given the current market for highly overclockable sticks. Yeah, they even look kinda pretty too, if you're into that.

If you have a Fry's near you, hold off until the Black Friday. There's a good chance they will have a one day limited stock sale on Nvidia's new offering. I'm a pretty heavy gamer & my 7900GT's(700/850 benching 650/828 gaming) have served me well. I hate to invest in another pair of video cards with only 5 months on these but rumors has it a single 8800gtx paired with a conroe scores 11,000 in 3DMark06. I get 11,000 with two cards. It will be very tempting.

wow..DDR2 800/400fsb @3-3-3-12

very nice....

these look to be the best value for ram around...correct me if I am wrong but not many of the DDR2 800 sticks are going to 100% hit DDR500 even if you go to 5-5-5-15

BTW could you get DDR2 1000/500fsb if you loosen to 5-5-5-15?

When I first got these sticks I set mine to 5-6-6-15 at 2.025v on my P5b Deluxe

I havent tried any tighter timings or less/more voltage. My first try was memtest stable! I am still working on my CPU OC...

I have another question...is there a difference in performance with 8x 450 vs 9x400 for example...can you feel a difference or only in benches?

If i can get these to run at 2.2v at 400 with 3-3-3-12 timings would that be better then 2.2v at 500mhz with 5-5-5-15 timings?

I got my to run at

5-5-5-12 2.2v at 1000mhz. I didn't feel safe using 2.3 or 2.4 vdimm but i was able to get it to boot at 1000mhz at cas4 and 800mhz at cas3.

Haven't tested 500 but 550 >> 400 at your mentioned timings

Yes 500fsb is stable. I perfer 500fsb since it runs faster in testing and it saves time when I load up my programs. Like a few seconds but i can tell.

You can get up to 550? with more voltage i think at lower timings. I kept my voltage at only 2.2 to keep warrenty.

or you can just buy ocz 1000mhz ram for $250 after rebate and it runs at 5-6-5-16 i think.

Great, I bumped the wrong thread. :( Got some off the Egg for 230 and boy are they PRETTY! They make a little tingy noise when moved around too...from the clip. :D Anyway, they achieved what I had hoped for. (see screenie) Now I hope I can get the 6600 up to 3.6 without too much trouble.
