I was just glad I was able to get into the sub 12sec pi, i hit about 11.9xx, dont remember it was about a month ago... with stock ram timings I might add.


Anyway, the thing that held me back on the P5B was the FSB when using a 12x multi.

Kentfield is defintely a lot of fun.

Nice, I hope my e6600 is almost as fast at 32M super pi, my goal OC speed is the same, 400x9 and hoping it'll be at 1.325vcore in Bios like it is now at 320x9 :toast:

Yes, you're right. B0 stops at x10 on P5B bios. But on P5W DH, I could choose up to x20.

The only thing odd about the B3 stepping is the Cinebench scores are low for the speeds I'm seeing here. At 4340MHz, he should be getting a much higher score than 2196. I could get 2120+ with 400 less MHz. Also, at lower speeds (3.7-3.8GHz), B0 will get better scores than this chip. Other than that, it looks like a decent CPU.

I have a couple Kentsfield processors and would like to try what all you awesome dudes are doing here. I have 5 thousand to blow on a Rad system.
I have read the threads and not sure on what motherboard to choose from:

Abit AWD9-Max or the P5WDG2 WS Professional

What do you guys suggest?

Maybe you guys can give me suggestings on the rest of the best hardware and once I have it complete, I can post all the specs, etc..
I also think that going H2O would be the best way to go... give me your thouhts.

add one more, the Bad Axe 2, it is optimized for running Kentsfield.
