Show us a complete video with spi + cpu-z although you make 13s @ 4GHz
i wouldn't go as far as saying its a fake, TaPaKaH has done everything everyone has asked but there has to be something crazy tweaked about that OS. i just finished a short dry ice run to see if i could get 4GHz 1M stable to see how close i could get to these times but there is just no way i can touch it. this is with a stock XP Pro 32-bit install with all but necessary services and all the usual tweaks that helped the time, affinity, real-time, copy-wazza, etc...

i am not quite at 4GHz without mods to the board (P5B-DLX) but 2 whole seconds with a windows install is very interesting to say the least. i am going to be working on a stripped down OS and modding the board in the next few days while the board dries out (can't believe it still runs), but something tells me that 2 seconds is going to be very tough to find with just an OS modification. congrats on the craziest 1M time i have seen to date
A stripped down OS with otherwise-minimal tweaking won't pull a 2 second lead (and coincidentally identical scores to a Conroe with a similar set of tweaks/OS). He said himself that the OS is only responsible for .5-.6 sec (at the most) of the improvement. He hasn't said he has some great tweak, just an OS that cuts off about a half-second from an untweaked run (which is great in its own right).
CPU-z is showing something wrong...maybe he has 4MB Allendale ESs (and CPUz is reading the wrong rev due to the custom BIOS), maybe the custom BIOS forces a fake namestring w/o him knowing it (though he'd know if he were running a non-E6300/6400). CPUz isn't giving us the whole picture, and on validation, CPUz even says not to trust was CPUz says.
not Opti :D but 12sec @4ghz is very bug

that sounds most feasible, in his first post with the 6300 results, he states that the CPU is lapped and doesn't know the stepping. a 4MB ES sounds like the most likely scenario. thanx for the insight Vapor.Quote:

BTW - I asked a friend about that E6300 chip - he said it was the "white box one", so it may have 4Mb of cache, but
1)CPU-Z would have reported that
2)Are there E6300s 4Mb-L2 ? As far as I know - there are only E6400s w/earlier steppings
TaPaKaH
share the oc tool for the P5B non deluxe and the mods that we dind see yet :) .
thx blind
Yeah, 13.2s at 4GHz is still too-fast for Allendale, especially untweaked....maybe this board has a few tricks up its sleeve?
well the only way to confirm or deny anything here is to try exactly the same settings/OS/tweaks and all and get those results
as things stand right now i just cannot believe these....it's too difficult to comprehend how you could do something like that EVEN 13.2
run 32M at those settings.........i want to see whether it's just a 1M thing or if 32M times are that fast
Look at his E6400 32M....it's not just 1M.
well i don't think thatQuote:

When will they release this TaPaKaH?Quote:

Ok thanks for asking. do you have any problems with the asus p5b vanilla while booting ( the famous double reboot / shut down and your hd`s stops spinning) after saving bios when you overclock this board ?

or does this board boots good if the strap is over 401 mhz see the http://www.bleedinedge.com/forum/showthread.php?t=23803 ?
yes, I do have it ...Quote:

Well, I think it`s just the p965 chipset, if you boot from a cold boot, do you have the double reboots than or does it boot instant without any problems? it boots double when overclocking with a cold boot, also with a fsb higher than 401 mhz, kinda freaky
Yes, I do have "double boot" and neither cold nor FSB400+ helps it :DQuote:

Hey Tapakah,
Do you have any update for that modded BIOS. I have an E6300, I don't mind tp do some final test for you and report back for any problems.
Amazing job
release the bios plz......
i'm completly :slobber:
i think is "normal" for all asuses now :mad:Quote:
