You must buy 1.02G. 1.01 cannot support MCH and 2.1V+ Vdimm voltage. They are different layout and BIOS.

Just want to clairify: Ver 1.02G will have Vmch adjustments?

Also, is this an 8 phase board, like the current P5B-DLX?

I didn't see power phases mentioned on Asus' site, & can't tell from the pics.

(I hate to make an assumption)

Damn. Well, I'm crossing my fingers that the one I just ordered is a new one, but seeing as how it's not quite October yet, that's unlikely. I guess I'll have to get the soldering iron ready.

Rev. 1.02 VMCH voltage change on bios.

3 phase board is the same P5B and P5B-E Rev 1.01.

The 1.02G allows up to 1.7V on the MCH. The board will marketed under a different brand name, probably P5B- E SE or something like it. So far I have hit 6x590 with it, not stable but trying for 600. 550 should be stable on this board in the end. :D

How high can you get it with default MCH voltage? I'm debating if I should even keep what I suspect will be a 1.01 revision arriving on Friday. :(

I just got my board and it is indeed the 1.01G :( I'm still debating on even using it, being that I shelled out a good deal of cash for some OCZ PC8000 Platinum XTC. 2.1v isn't going to be enough to push these things....

I took a peek at the chipset, and to add insult to injury the NB is a C1 according to the S-Spec. :-/

I ALMOST picked one up... thinking it was a C2 rev NB... now I'm SOOOOO glad I didn't.

Best mid priced Conroe board is certainly still 965P-DS3 from ewiz for <$150 shipped.

ds3 is quad core (kentsfield) capable. Coolaler already tried ds3 out with kentsfield and over at Anandtech it is listed as Quad core capable.

I have stated several times that the first boards will be C1 then followed up by the C2. By the way, no difference in performance between the boards with C1 or C2 unless you have the 1.02G board. This myth about C2 being better is pure horse crap, it is the new board designs and bios that make a difference. ;)

My C1 does 7x401 and actually overclocks just a tad better than the C2 board, just not the C2 1.02G board. ;) Asus estimated MSRP has not changed, it is just the price being charged by the e-tailors has for the current time.

Did you replace the TIM on the NB? I haven't yet... not sure how much difference it will make.

Also, do you have probs from 360-399 and then fine at 400 like the P5B-Dlx, or are you good all the way to 401?

How would one know that motherboard is 1.02G?
Will it have a different name?

Is MCH and 2.1V limit crucial for overclocking?
