DFI at $180 and making good clocks, ASUS at $270 making good clocks....oh the choices...
Hmmmm ... I know the new bios might not be ready for while, but I've seen enough to convince me that I can deal with a $180 DFI mobo being a place holder (I would have choked on the Asus) for a better mobo that will hopefully appear sometime in the not too distant future. I pulled the trigger on the board ... and a CPU, memory and another PSU. :D If it all ends in tears I'll blame you Kunaak. :slap: Seriously though - thanks for helping me decide. It should be fun. :toast:
Dumo has put alot of time in this board, I would ask him to make a thread that has alll the FAQ for this board, he was hitting 450 fsb on the old bios...Quote:

I know that 975Boards usually don't have Problems running 7900GX2/7950GX2 GFX's, but i'll still ask:
any1 got Problems on DFI Infinity running a 7900GX2 or 7950GX2?

Ordered the Infinity earlier today, the board at $180 was too good to pass up.Quote:

(I really do NOT want to buy a bad board. The foxconn (which I almost got) turned out to be a nightmare, and I'm also disabled, so.....)
Question to whoever tested this new BIOS > this new max FSB is it on strap 1066 or 1333?
well, i just ordered this board with the 2GB Gskill 4-4-4-12 and an E6600. Hopefully this new bios will show itself in stable form soon.
I never did understand the whole "FSB Strap" thing.
yep, 08/16 bios is not bad :)
can do 425-435 with 1.35-Vfsb b4 needing more voltage bump.
Vmch was @ 1.7/2.6 vdimm
Asus P5WDH I would use 1.4 Vfsb to get over 410 so overall im
impressed with latest bios.

First post @@ Come on DFI GIve me new bios my 6700 seems so sad @ 3.7 gig :(
dynasty are you doing that via the bios or setfsb in windows ?
also can you power down and power back on and it boots fine everytime at that FSB.
1.7v for mch wow thats pretty heavy...... way to high for only 425 FSB wouldnt you say ?
2.6vdimm ? you got some fatties in there do ya ?

I am booting into windows @ 375 fsb and using cg ICS 9PLRS509
to increase fsb after that..im working vmods to this board tonight looking
for past 450 Fsb..:D
Dynasty:
With that beta bios you have, what happens if you try to boot windows at, let's say, 400 FSB or more?
Do you have problems with having to hold down the power button, or where the board will not reboot when you shut down ?
I think this is what the other poster was concerned about.
I'm having strange experience with my DFi Infinity 975X.
I put 410fsb on bios and the cpu boots to windows @ default (9x266 seen on cpu-z). I go back to bios and there is 410fsb set. why it dont OC?
I've flashed 814 bios and mobo dont boot anymore.
Tryed Insert button trick but no luck.
I'm now at my precious DS3. It rocks solid but i like to see dfi working cause saturday i'll bench 3D01, 3D03, 3D05, 3D06 with SLI of 7950gx2 (quad sli).
Wanna break some records guys.
There's anything I can do?
Thanks in advance.

its a modded bios, so very unlikely to ever be a official bios.
where your most likely gonna find this bios, is at DFI-Street.
sir kunaak when the modded bios is finish please put a link here.. :) still waiting for the new bios.. sir Oskar Wu where patiently waiting.. :)
So there will be no new official BIOS with the Options/Performance of the modded BIOS?Quote:

all I am doiing is giving my speculation on the matter.
Oskar Modded pretty much every Bios I ever used for A64 DFI boards, and not a single one came from DFI's website.
all came from DFI street, or a site rehosting the bioses.
I simply mean, I have never seen a modded bios, become an official bios... even though Oskar was the one to do it.
i reffered to the first Post...Quote:

then i got 3 last Questions:
1. Can u send me a Link to the modded BIOS? I made a quicksearch@dFi-street but didnt find it.
Nope. It's not Mine to Give Out.
When Oskars ready to make the bios ready to give out publicly, he will.
I said this in my first post in this topic.
2. Where u able to get past to FSB380-400 with 1:1 ramRatio? I saw the screenie but i cant figure it out right...
yes, easily. can get up to 460+ , However, I haven't seen many people get above 400... I dont know why I am able to get alot more from this board then most people so far...
my speeds are boot up speeds, not clockgen.
3. Would you prefer the Infinity instead of a P5WDH or P5B? Would u prefer ANY other Board than the Infinity?
at the moment I am extremely happy with the Infinity, I am only vaguely curious about the P5WDH at the moment, since I really havent seen anything from that board that tells me its better then this one.
I like the 965 chipset, but the 965 chipset, is definatly slower then the 975 chipset, and being able to hit 500+ on the 965 chipset, doesn't really translate to better OC's, unless you have low multipliers.
for instance, I just saw a guy doing 550 FSB on a P5B Deluxe... and only getting 8,000 for bandwidth.
I am getting 7700 for bandwidth, and I am only running 400 FSB at the moment, and by the time I run 450 at 1:1 I am well above 8300 for bandwidth.... which is still far lower then the 965 chipsets do on the FSB.
but, a (possible) 550 FSB is about the only way to push a low multiplier CPU, if you want crazy OC's (like I do:D ) and since I use a E6400, the P5B Deluxe, is a chipset I am interested in... but I know, its a trade off, slower Super Pi scores, slightly lower frame rates, and lower bandwidth, in trade for higher FSB's...
I am extremely happy with the Infinity at the moment, with being able to hit 400+ on the FSB now, without having to use only the 4;3 ratio.
it would be nicer if 500+ was a option, but I dont think it is... not even with this bios.
but then again, very few 975 boards are able to hit that kinda FSB.
knowing Oskars giving this board a look at, and seeing what he can do for it, gives me alot more confidence in this boards future.
after experiencing his work on the DFI NF4's, and the kinda luck I had there, I really like knowing he's giving some time to this board too.
