Slow goin' but I got it DL'd.
Wow, they released it  You would think they could have made it so AiBooster reads correctly b4 they made it a non-beta. Aibooster hasn't been right since bios 0801.
Boot still slow as hell for me. After the last line is "2048MB" right before it detects USB, it sits there for about 5secs.
I noticed that accessing my USB key was QUICK. Not sure what fixed it. I went from 701 to 903... so anything in between must have fixed it. I used to have to wait literally five minutes for it to scan the USB key. Now it took under a second, actually instantaneous. Also this time I also had more files on it than just the BIOS file... so I expected it to take longer, but it was great. Just pushed B:\ and it was THERE.
Hi all. First time post.
I flashed to this BIOS this morning and everything's the same, except that it boots a lot faster for me now and I am now able to run at 3.6GHz stable with only 1.535V set in the BIOS instead of 1.55V (which could be because it's burnt in a bit otherwise?).
Flashed in Windows, cleared the CMOS with Asus update but not manually and didn't remove battery and I still have full voltage options.
Faster boot time from the 590 would be great, but a the price of FSB speed and possibly stability?
Nah... :(
I saw someone asking this on page two or something, but it was never answered..
Does this bios have profiles?

Is it safe to use Asus windows flashing util? or is it a flash in dos using AFUDOS BIOS Update Procedure??
Windows flashing util does me fine, just as long as nothing crashes and it doesn't get interrupted your safe using it. I run a fairly lean computer and disconnect from the net when i do it, so i've never had a problem, but some people swear it is akin to consorting with the devil.
ive never had a problem flashing in windows.
Weird, same version 2.03.01
From the time I switched from 0701 to 0901, AI Booster and PC Probe read incorectly. Is it it the same with this one? Is it possible to revert to 0701?
Also, is it better to remove the battery when flashing new BIOS?
Uh, bump?
yes just reflash it, but i wud use 1101, who cares about ai booster
no dont remove battery when flashing bios.
I do care about Ai booster, and it's not the only program that reads incorrectly since I flashed this bios.
Anyway, what do I do exactly to flash in DOS? I've only done it in windows and i'm not sure. I think I need a MS-DOS boot disk and a second disk with two files, the bios and afudos. Is that correct?
Also, at what point do I clear cmos? Do I shut down the pc right after I flash to do that?
Well?
Common guys! I need to know!
Just name the BIOS you want to P5WDH.ROM and put it on usb-mem and hit alt + F2 when booting.
Then it starts flashing the bios...
I don't use Ai booster so don't knowQuote:

I must be doing something wrong: I boot with the disk and when I type 'flash' in the command line it says bad file or bad name. What am I doing wrong?
use Afudos ( a:\afudos /inameofthefile.rom /pbnc /n )Quote:
