afaik there was a guy at a german board who tried liquid helium... it was too cold so nothing happened when he tried to power his system on ^^

i don't think that it is too cold, maybe it didn't boot because of cold boot bug... probably is possible to boot with a higher temp (-100 or something like that) and then drop it inside of the pot to full cold power :P

what's the liquid helium temps? -256c isn't it?

Nah it wasnt a cold boot bug as we know it from a64...
afaik everything was fine as long as he used ln2... :stick: (not 100% sure about that) ...

btw: tried setting tRFC to a lower value using memset? Gave me (dunno if it works 4 u too) 0.05s better times (set from 25 to 15).

I wonder how much time is being spent writing the times to the screen and windows having to redraw? I've found in many cases, hiding the window will speed things up.

So, perhaps when you get the 'GO' dialogue, before hitting it, open another window (say another instance of SPi) and place it over the top of the first. Then hit 'GO', wait for it to finish and then have a look. You never know.

The whole 'printing-to-screen' - work is done by the GPU!
So I don't think that this would effect the SPi score!
But ... in the end you're right: you never know! ;)
