hey, i did that SAME thing...
as a warning, make sure the mount is good and screws are tight... if u want to remount, you're either going to go through a crapload of hassle, or remove the mobo.... which is a crapload of hassle...
So no one has any results yet? I bought the DS3 instead just because people posted good results. I'd rather have this board because my gigabyte is a huge piece of crap that resets each time I increase the fsb by 1mhz :)

I don't have conroe yet, prolly won't for a while... Fugger's in testing on this board....Quote:

I would if i could get this stupid RAM to work lol. It will only run stable with one stick and then when i start jacking up the FSB very high it gets unstable. I know it isn't this E6300 because it can surely do at least 2.4-2.5GHz. The RAM seems to be running fine now set at DDR2 800 (450MHz) and FSB 300MHz but when i drop it to like DDR2 533 and start cranking the FSB it wont boot. Hopefully Abit is getting ready to release another BIOS update. I posted a thread on the Abit forums and contacted OCZ to see about an RMA for the new rev. 2 stuff.Quote:

I don't think i'll even be able to get ahold of them with the motherboard installed in the case. I really like this Big Typhoon except for that and the fact i guess i'll have to order another one of those sticky pads for the backplate if i ever change motherboards which is sort of dumb. It's like Thermaltake planned for you to install this thing one time on one board and that's it.Quote:

Yeah i saw someone say that over at hardforum when i was looking for info on the big typhoon. I guess it's too late now though. Oh well, i'll probably just sell it with the motherboard when i upgrade since i only paid $40.50 for it and get a new one then.Quote:

Yes i flashed the BIOS when i first got it but i wouldn't say that is has much better memory compatibility since myself and most everyone else seems to have problem getting DDR2 800 RAM to work on this thing.Quote:

No luck with the three DS3 so I ordered the Abit board with memories of NF7-S r2. Reading Abit is back just brought back good memories.
Got the board this afternoon. The pictures of the layout do not do it justice. Throwing darts from 75 feet away at it could have put the some of the stuff in a better spot. I could just get into windows with one stick of ram and then the usb mouse and keyboard would not work. Messed with it for hours and got nowhere. If I would have liked the layout just a little I would maybe put it aside and when FUGGER and the guys figured it out, spend more time with it but a plain ugly gal is tougher to put up with when their cranky then a good looking one.
Bios is not as good as the DS3 either.
This was a short date.:(
latest is bios version 11....Quote:

P965 chipset boards don't support SLI/Crossfire. If you want Xfire then get a 975X chipset board.Quote:

I think ill be getting a new abit mobo when i get my x6800 chip, and ill give my kids the badaxe.Quote:

Hope you'll be a little luckier than you've been since we've been thru the early A8R-MVP mess. Good mobos tend to be as common as flying pigs these days.Quote:
