7950GX2 always works at x8, regardless of the mainboard. For the simple reason, that both PCBs on 7950GX2 are connected thru PCIe x8. Therefore, PCIe x16 connector (on the card) that is plugged in to the slot, becomes nothing else but PCIe x8.
NVIDIA has conlcuded it and many benchmarks had shown it before that - whether it's x8 or x16, it really doesn't make any significant difference. Previous 7900GX2 used x16 connector between PCBs and NVIDIA apparently noticed it was a waste :)
