@starostise, "i think my cpu is awesome regarding temp and voltage". It is, that's fantastic.
@CompGeek, that would be tough. Maybe you could offer to pre-test them.

Is this suicide shot or Super PI 1m stabel ?
suicide shot.
hi,
i need some help with san diego 3700 overclocking.
first my config:
- san diego 3700+ on aircooling
- dfi nf 4 ultra d
- 2x512mb twinmos bh-5 old (doing ~265mhz@3,3v and ~272mhz@3,53v)
- msi 6600gt pcie
- lc power 550w powersupply (20-pin)
i have 2 destinations, >3000mhz on cpu and >260mhz@2,0 2 2 x on my rams
so i am trying following settings, they are 4 to 5 h prime and super pi 32m stable:
11x313mhz @1,48-1,5vcore with 166 divider -> 260mhz on rams
so far, everything is ok, but when i startet looping the first 3 tests of mad onion 3dmark 2001 , the system crashes between 1 to 5 minutes.
(i never tried higher versions, perhaps i should ...)
it seems 3d/pcie load crashes my system.
i think, my temp's seems to be okay, 40-42° C load on cpu, 42-44°C load on chip? the volts of my powersupply seems to be okay, too.
i am playing with open case, extra cooling on ram, northbridge, graphic card, and so on to locate the problem, but nothing.
i am playing with different bios versions and spent a lot of time on optimizing all the memorytimings, rising ltd and chip volts .1v but there is no satisfying result.
so i need help and suggestions, especially from people with the same settings or from people with same problems.
by the way, are there pcie settings in the bios , which relieve or stabilize my system?
sorry for my horrible english, i am from germany and i know i have to improve it ;-)
(when i am in the false section, please let me know.)
H.
just started to OC it last nite and this is what I've gotten so far. Will have 3.0 and 30000 by this week end.

Under full load such as prime. the temps can go as high as up to 50+*C. Probably because im using stock heatsink. Is there any heatsink and fan you would recommend to get this baby running cool again? Please let me know which heatsink will be good to pick up.

Sheeet my friend, my ram is bulletproof. :slobber: Tried, tested, and proven many times.;)
I am fortunate to have the 2 set I do and to have never sold them.
Ok, but using small fft's stresses your CPU less then using large. Just run the "real" Prime95 and choose maximum heat.Quote:

I think it could go higher, but it was limited by my mobo and cooling, before it was on the eVGA 133-K8-NF-41-AX board (not too bad actually) and a Freezer64 non-pro, but now with the DFI and the SI-120, I am hoping around 3GHz stable! Now if my mem would go it :stick:

My PC,
Asus A8N32SLI

Help me...
From everything I've read in this thread, it is entirely possible to O/C my A64 4000+ to 3 Ghz? I'm hoping to go 10 x 250 with a 4/5 mem divider. Does that sound reasonable?
possible but it depends of your cpu :)
How so? I honestly haven't overclocked since my P3 1Ghz.

Here is my new CPU....an AMD 3700 KACAE 0602GPMW. I think this stepping is on a par with the legendary 0547GPMW. My highest stable overclock on stock volts (on air) is 3080MHz, and with 1.44V I can reach 3135MHz. The latter is only 1 hour 25 minutes prime stable but I am working on that:

It's 32M stable at that voltage but needs 1.375V set in BIOS for it to be totally stable. Temperatures aren't too great though. Might invest in a Freezer 64 Pro or better at some point. Been swapping between stock cooler and Akasa Evo 120. Temperatures with the two are about the same.

My little Sandy, as reported in my signature...
LINK
Bye:)
Hi, im new on this forums.
Im going to buy an used SD 3700+ and i have some steps to choose
Here is the CPU stepping code ->>>
ADA3700DAA5BN:
KACAE 0551TPAW / CABGE 0517UPAW / KAB2E 0548FPMW / KAB2E 0604FPFW / KAB3E 0548RPDW
I want to know which step is the most overclockable.
I need help, because i must know in 2 days -_-
Thanks for help!!
FX-55 @3113MHz

Oscar
Well...I have a little Sandy too. The IHS is pretty "rubbed" so I don't exactly know the stepping (but I think it might be a CCBWE or a LCBIE, because cpu-id saw it as Toledo, and because it is an E6 revision..and because it goes very good for an E6)
So...
The Rig:
San Diego E6 3700+
AC Freezer 64 Pro
Asus A8N-SLI
2x256 Corsair CMX3200LLPT v1.1 (bh-5)
The Setup
Because of my mobo, I could only provide 1,50v for the CPU and 3,0v for the RAM, so all results are obtained at those values.
All (very cold) air cooling
Temp ambient = +4 degrees Celsius
Location: on the ledge of my window, windows wide open, in the middle of the night :)
The results
1. Max Cpu-Z : 3268Mhz @1,50v - 297x11, ht 3x
http://img291.imageshack.us/img291/8...8mhzzw2.th.jpg
2. Max Spi 1M : 26.250sec @ 3179Mhz - 289x11, ht3x, 239Mhz@2-2-2-5 1T (2-7-12-2-2-5-2-2-1-1)
http://img156.imageshack.us/img156/7...0seckk4.th.jpg
Conclusion: I need more voltage!
I'm also new here, and I'm no guru...but I would say go with the KAB3E or with the KACAE.Quote:

My first post here. :D
I have recently bought a San Diego 3700+ E4 cpu. It is KAB1E stepping
It does 3GHz prime test vdef, 3.1 GHz prime test @ 1.408V and perhaps even more but i haven't tested yet. I also have a screenshot at 3333 mhz but unfortunatelly it isn't cpu-z verified(you will have to trust me, aldo i can run another session and validate it).
My achievements for now:
- cpu-z max: 3333 mhz @ vcore: 1.536
http://img340.imageshack.us/img340/1...nshozp0.th.jpg
- super pi 1M max: 3267 mhz @ vcore: 1.504 -- score: 25.391 sec
http://img183.imageshack.us/img183/2...2202kc2.th.jpg
- Prime test 3GHz @ vcore: 1.360
http://img469.imageshack.us/img469/1...3ghzsa9.th.jpg
I just bought this cpu and i was impacient to find out how good it is, and my primary target was super pi and cpu-z max so i had no time for prime test. Excepting the prime test screenshot (i had ~ 5C ambient temp) , i used Cooler Master Hyper6+ (fan @ 3300RPM) and zalman SGT1 thermal grease and i had ~ 20C ambiant temperature. ;) I forgot to start smart guardian but my cpu temp was ~ 31C idle .
http://img341.imageshack.us/img341/6530/myrigjq5.th.jpg http://img124.imageshack.us/img124/2...2mhzuw1.th.jpg
What do you think ?
System:
Asus A8N-SLI
Arctic Cooler 64 pro
AMD 64 4000
Corsair TwinX 4400C25 2x512mb
XFX 6800GSXXX
Tagan480-u22 psu
I’m trying to overclock my CPU to match the FSB speeds my ram is rated at. I bought a matched pair of Corsair TwinX 4400C25 which are rated to run at 550mhz, FSB 275, but the highest satiable FSB my CPU will go to is around 235 with a multi x12, core speed 2.8Ghz.
I know the problem is with my CPU because I dropped the multi down x4 and the Ram went up to 275 no prob on a timing 1:1 2.5-4-4-8 T2, 2.7volts. Passed memtest every time I upped the FSB by 10 from a start of 200
Because my cpu is satiable at 2.8 Ghz , multi x12, I tried dropping the multi to x10 so I could get to my rams max fsb 275, but as soon as I get past an FSB of 240 my cpu becomes unstable will not pass the 30 min test on OCCT.
HT is set to X3
Ram timing 1:1 2.5-4-4-8 T2, 2.7volts
PCI-E set to 33Mhz
CPU volt tried from 1.45 to 1.5
CPU temps have never gone past 41c at max load
I know it sound good getting my CPU overclocked to 2.8Ghz, but I feel it’s not getting the most out and my Ram.
Is there anything I’m not doing, or doing wrong. Do I need a better Motherboard or CPC? I’d really appreciate some help from some of you seasoned overclockers, because as you can tell I’m a bit a novice.

KAB1E is one of the best SanDiego steppings (easily achieve 2.9 - 3GHz aircooled) but then it is not easy for 3.1GHz cos limits....
