PCI-Express, 256MB GDDR3, TV-out, 400/490 MHz, 256 bit, 16 Pipes, Retail
should i be worried ?
thanks
And if POWERCOLOR models do have tempetaure sensors and fan speed control thru ATI TOOL ?
it dosent have video in and out and only one dvi connector if i remember correct. should still have power connector and 1.6 ram
Mine is continuing to burn in, its now stable at 472.5/598, and I can bench at 480/605Quote:

A DFI rep just told me that these are expected in June. So it looks like the Neo2 will be the best option for at least another quarter.Quote:

Why are there some X800 XL's that are using 392MHz/700MHz stock?
http://usa.asus.com/prog/spec.asp?m=.../2DTV&langs=09
gpu speed seems about right. On all XL cards the speed isn't dead set on 400mhz but late 300's. The memory speed is a good 150mhz less though!
Yeah, and that thing also costs around $410 on NewEgg. Poor, poor ASUS.
I just hit 5600 in '05 at 577/625
I'm getting a new power supply tomorrow, so I hope that'll help me get a little bit more.
dont you mean 477 gpu?
Ive got my running at 560 :D

How have you got your core to run at 560mhz?? Is tht being cooled by phasechange or DI?? Wht voltage are u running? Have you done both the GPU mods??Quote:

Ok just checked your futuremark linky

Yup, see my avatar, both phasers in one case, no messy DI or anything like that, I just crack up the volts and cards speed and run my benches.. That was ran at 1.68v on the gpu and I do not have a vdimm mod, I need one bad though, my vcore mod was done by a friend, I dont trust myself with a soldering Iron (nothing like a brazing torch, LOL).. The higher I run the core, the lower I have to drop the ram, wierd? I can bench the ram at ~630, but I have to drop the core way way down? Wierd thing is though, I get a lockup before I ever see a single artifact? And Im afraid to go any higher with the volts, Do not want to kill my card considering this is my 24/7 rig and not a benching rig..Quote:

HI
I think it´s impossible! to active/change PS 2.0 to 3.0 with new Drivers.
...ok --->I gave My x800xl-GPU 1,72Volt but I cant´t run without artefacts over 509 GPU :( and I won´t use mor Volts! but the temps are very well :)
29°C Idle and 36-37°C under pressure and inviroment max. @40°C
I think my GPU is not soo good :(
ok regards Fire113.
As fire113 said, enabling them via drivers won't be possible.Quote:

The temps are also good, with my fans on full whack the core doesnt go over 40C. I think the core has run out of steam, from 475mhz onwards the increase in voltage needed to run a few more mhz is alot higher than at lower mhz.
I also dont get hardlocks but i get a distorted screen, like back in the day with the 9500's which had bad pipes, i get like checkerboard effect and need to reboot.
Dont know if anybody else is experiencing this, I want to know if anybody has done the overcurrent protection mod on the GPU, maybe this is my problem???
Oh anybody know if their is a way to post score without having 3dmark01 installed? I am not on the net and want to upload a 32k+ score. I tried putting 3dmark01 on a disk which and running from this, which works at home, but the library computers do not have dx8.1 so the app wont load
last question :
does X800XL have temp. monitoring etc ? :=)
Yup through rivatuner and atitoolQuote:

I second the Zalman, it only dropped my temps about 5-7 degrees, but the temps were very low(36 idle, 65 load) to start with. Now they're around 34 idle, 59 load after the volt mod. The move to decent ramsinks seems to have given me about 25 Mhz more on the ram, as I can go to about 605 without artifacts, and before was getting about 580 before the card hard locked.Quote:

I have never done a volt mod before. Charlie, I know you are all about the pencil mod which I am interested in cause it seems easy and non solder based. Would you mind giving me/us the info on exactly what you did and where you got your info to follow from while doing the mod? Pictures, article or perhaps a short tutorial written by yourself or someone else? I have an ATI silencer 5 coming and my core can barely do 430 with stock volts. I would really like to do more but I will admit I am new to volt modding and a little scared. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.Quote:

I saw that link. Thank you. I am just unsure exactly where and how to draw the pencil marks on the resistor. If anyone could be so kind as to load those pictures up in paint to draw exactly what to do and where it would be greatly appreciated. I know most people know what they are doing on this site and for most things I do however, I have no shame in admitting when I don't know something and need some help. Just really can't afford to break something I am not 100% assured of.
I second that. Would like to do pencil mod but dont want to make a 300$ mistake
I agree, the forum link seems a little better than the guide, but would be nice if someone made a guide for dumies (like me)

hmm anyone running x800xtpe speed after vmod?
eradicator with 560 on core :D
Well im maxing out at 492mhz, with 1.65v i can bench at 485mhz, upping Vgpu by 0.10 volts to 1.75 is only gaining me 7mhz! So im wondering if the overcurrent protection is kicking in, or Ive just reached the limit of the core. Thats why I am interested to see if anybody tried the overcurrent mod, seeing tht you seem to be having exactly the same results as me with regards to increase in mhz between 1.68-1.73v, maybe this will 'release' our cores.Quote:

I´ll try again to get higher with the GPU maybe with this temps and 1,75 V I can get ~520-530.<---hope so.

Not been fortunate enuff to hit a big clocker first time in recent times with gfx cards. Im sure their are some magic cores out their tht could have 520mhz in them with good watercooling. Youve got some sweet ram, by the way :). 635mhz is sweet

does Zalman VF700 CU fit on POWERCOLOR X800XL ?
Fits perfectly, i saw a 20mhz improvement in memory and core over stock cooer.
guys news XL have 2.0 or 1.6ns ram chips?
2.0 as default but some on the beginning got 1,6ns manufactor was powercolor as i remeber correctly.
seEn
i think that x800pro vivo AGP is still the best cost/performance card...
These are the benchmarks for my system, with the following specs. There is no overclocking or tweaking involved, all default speeds. The specs are as follows: I know my video card is not an XL series, but I've just bought this card and would like to see how it compares with the XL. The make is a Power Color X800 Pro Series.
Intel Prescott 3.2E Socket 775
2 GB Infenion DDR400
X800 Pro
Intel 865Pe Chipset
Please tell me if this result are correct with default speeds? Or if they are on the Low Side.
gatt767 : why FSB 200 ? Why not 250 * X ? :)
and those timings for ram ? omg ......3-3-3-x at 200 ?
what are you doing ? :slap:
The last two-three weeks I haven´t done any 3dbenching with my XL. Only Goldmem and memtest.
Today I tried 3dm01 at 470/540 which was completely stable a few weeks ago (24h of 03 in loop). It was a no go. I had to back down to 550/530 for 3dmark to complete.
Then I noticed the temps were higher then they used to. I had 51c idle and 54c load. Earlier i had 40-41c load.. dont remember idle.
The Zalman VF700 is getting warm, so its not bad contact.
I dont get it .. why cant i EVER get decent hw...
Tedy are they good for a non tweaked system?
I know that they look bad no overclocking, slow mem timings etc. etc. but I have already lost a Pc due to a lightning surge that passed through the LAN Port, straight to the mainboard/CPU/Powersupply and mem. So I don't want to re loose this one with overclocking.

It seems that some cards have a slightly higher stock vgpu than others  i am running 460/550 artifact free in ATItool without any mods, i have been to 470/570 and cannot see any artifacts in 3dmark though, maybe ATItool is just too good at stressing :stick:
Cant wait to volt mod it this week and hopefully make 500mhz on the core
just got my POWERCOLOR X800XL PCIE
2.0ns :(
will bench a little....
erm what tempetaures are still safe for X800XL ?
So far GPU max is 440 Mhz......
Few questions :
- Which cooler is better ZALMAN VF700CU or ATI SILENCER 5 REV2 ?
- Where do i see voltage for GPU/RAM as Nibitor had for NVIDIA ?

Tedy don't feel bad about 2.0ns ram. Most people are getting cards like that including my powercolor. Out of the box with no volt/cooling mods my memory does 567 rock stable. I hope with better cooling a bit higher. Your core is doing better than mine though. I can't seem to go higher than 425-432.
My mem kind a sucks, doing max 540 :( 2,0ns... The core on the other hand is doing 480 on water, kind a strange, but nice :) Gonna find me a pencil and draw something on it :D
mine also only does 550 fully stable but with mods, good airflow etc.. i could also bench with 600 :D
how much did you guys get in increase with increased voltage?
3dmark 2003
11214
280*9
x800xl 400/490
A have a powercolor x800xl with a zalman vf700cu on it and my core does 456 and my memory only 521 :( :( :(
overclocking has been don with atitools if i go any higher i get artifacts in atitools scanner.
can i get higher (safe) with rivatuner
o the temp are oke i guess 54 on core full load and 30 idle
In my experience with my 9800 Pro, ATiTool sucks for detecting artifacts that you'll notice in games. I ran games 20MHz above what ATiTool told me was stable and never saw a single artifact.
ATItool detects artifacts at 550 on the mem on my XL. I play games at 440/590 with no artifacts and bench at 610+ easy.
just becasue you don't see artifact does not mean they aren't there. leave it at ati's values, and your cards should last as long as it was originally intended. go over, and possibly lessen it's life. That's if you care about that.
This aint called XtremeSystems for no reason, with better cooling its possible to run the cards much higher without risking its life...Quote:

I meant to say ATI-tool, and not ATI's values. Overclocking, and not raising voltages, should not damage a card. it either works, or it doesn't
Why i mentioned that was becasue most gaming/testing evironments are 3d...so there is always a side to an image that you don't see. the artifacts could be happening before the z-culling, and you wouldn't really see them.
Yep, mine does 460mhz core on 1.45v. I can run 480@1.5v, but temps hit 60C and I start to get artifacting.Quote:

I'm using a jetart JASCH1, which can't quite cut it when it comes to extra volts. Does great on stock vgpu, though. My Maze4 will be here Friday, though so no worries. 1.6-1.65v coming soon!!!!
In Denmark we've just got a shop that sells a wc set the mem for a 100$, gonna get that one and give my mem some juice.. If it doesn't give any ekstra its at least kind a fancy with some dye :D
