ya works now.... i think some mediafire servers were down....
just updated yo 1602 and works good so far.... now starting to do some prime95 tests on the OC settings

any chance for an M4A79T bios that is fixed and doesn't overvolt thuban @ 1.5 and above
Thanks for the new BIOS, I'll be testing it throughly tomorrow.
Hi bingo, thanks so much for posting these pre-beta BIOSes. They've made me reconsider returning my M4A89GTD-PRO/USB3 to the place I bought it.
The most recent BIOS you posted, 1605, has fixed most of my problems running Ubuntu Linux on the board. At one point I had to disable tsc and hpet and set the kernel clocksource to acpi_pm. I also had major problems with the Realtek card cutting in and out, even in the last BIOS (1602). But as I said, 1605 seems to have fixed those problems. I am now booting without any extra kernel boot parameters and the on-board LAN seems to be fine.
I haven't tested it yet on 1605 but I was having a problem on 1602 with a Promise SATA300 TX4 PCI card. It's a 4-port SATAI card. Basically if I had the card plugged into the board, I could not have all six motherboard SATA ports utilised in AHCI mode. The error I was getting was "Insufficient Runtime Space for MPS Data! System may operate in PIC or. Non-MPS mode" I haven't tried with 1605 yet, but I was wondering if this was an error condition that you're aware of. I was hoping to use this board in my home file server and I have 8 hard drives in the system. I'd really like to be able to have all six motherboard SATA ports in addition to the Promise card's 4 ports.
I'll try to test 1605 out this weekend but just thought I'd mention it to you in case you had come across this issue already. I've been in contact with ASUS tech support via e-mail but unfortunately they haven't been super helpful.
Saw that there was an update concerning the M4A89GTD and maybe there is something in the pipeline for the M4A89TD pro/usb?
Have overhere serious troubles concerning CorssfireX with 2xHD5850, already contacted ATI but everybody may guess what their answer was.......don't rejoice the support of ATI!
The only advantage is more detailed scenery and no gain, would say loss, in FPS!
But, to be sure, it could be that it is motherboard - bios related so is there something in the pipeline?
Update - C4F BIOS passed first qualification today. If the second set of user beta testing goes well tomorrow then we should have it posted late this week.
good news bingo!
Hey Bingo whats up. Any news on a new bios for the M3N mobo's out there. I would like to OC my CPU Phenom 1055T to it's full potential past 3.7 GHZ@ 1.3875V the bios voltages have incorrect voltage readings no turbo core option, the FSB OC is very unstable past 262 and I am getting 0X101 BSOD's also the multiplier is not sticking. If you have any beta bios's you can lend me or when one will becoming out I will be happy to try it out. I am using 3106 on a M3N HT deluxe thanks for the news on the C4F bios.
Hi ! I just tried the new beta 1605 for "M4A89GTD PRO" . I went from 1301 and everythings seems okey so far altho sometimes i can't enter bios with DEL. Its just passing through and ends up with "choosing win 7 as boot or win memory diagnostic tool instead. But it does work for the most time luckly. Then there is the x16 mode for upper PCI-E slot , its still x8 with one card for me or maybe that new feature was meant for something else. I had to bump up one notch on the vcore aswell compared to 1301 but thats okey. Other than that its seems to working very well as before and im looking forward to new bioses :)
What about M4A79 Deluxe? it's been over a week ago it was said to be in final testing, which usually should take one week... is there any trouble with this?!
Here is what we are trying to accomplish with the Thuban processors. On our Rampage III Intel boards we have LLC setttings at 0%, 50%, and 100% so you can fine tune the voltage overshoots when using LLC. We are trying to do the same on the AMD boards for Thuban but dialing in the right ramp settings to keep Core 0 properly set and have Turbo mode work at the same has required some significant test time. The first BIOS out with this setup will be the C4F and then a few of the other boards. It has taken longer than expected to work this out and provide a reasonable solution with Thuban and LLC, which it was not designed to work with at all. ;)
any news about m3a79 deluxe ? or it's same like m4a79 deluxe?
so does that mean turbo is working on c4f with an OC on cpu ?
One thing from bios is annoying to me, i cant turn off CPU fan monitoring, so if i use watercooling and not the cpu fan. I will recieve error every boot, with no cpu fan. I can only turn that off. If i set don not halt on any errors. It would be nice if Asus would use something like this. Or if anybody else has another idea how tu turn it off in bios, since i cant find it.
http://img243.imageshack.us/img243/2...ailwarning.jpg
I know i can just connect another fan from my case to it, but thats not want i want.
Knowing it's there still took me a second to find it as I don't use it often. When watercooling I connect the pump tach output to the CPU fan header which is what the screenshot is showing.
i have also a m3n-ht deluxe and all i want from a new bios is the ability to disable thuban turbo funktion
because i do turbo and cool&quit with software
http://phenommsrtweake.sourceforge.net/
it works great
but since i cant disable strange bios turbo funktion the bios and my turbo tool both try to set multiplacator for the core dynamical and thats "not good" (forum make it impossible type b u l l s h i t lol)
5 people first posting on 1 page in this thread . wow .
Beta bioses ARE popular :)
high interest in beta bios is a bad sign because it shows that the actual release bios have some throubles and people hungry for fix
but i can understand that whole X6 CPU for "old" AM2+ mainboards did give a lot of work to the mainboard bios teams at asus
but when i pay like 150 euro more for a high end mainboard i also expect high end support and that include failure free bios with maximun adjustable settings
people who dont touch settings buy a 100 euro mainboard instead of a 250 euro high end one
and not to be able disable thuban turbo in bios is just a big lack customizeable mainboards
it would be so great if u could just define own volt+multiplyer settings for each P state together with setting CPU load change P state up and down
as long as mainboards not able provide a customable cool&quit and turbo they need to have at least the option disable cool&quit and turbo so we can use the existing software tools that allow us dynamic set this values as a OS service
if i would be a asus manager i would just hire the developer of that tool http://phenommsrtweake.sourceforge.net/ and make it a free to use for everyone tool but a great advertise for asus
like MSI did with afterburner on the GPU side (which is in the end just a easy to use rivatuner with a better look)
it says we should have it posted, it doesn't say it will be posted... be patient all
We have been patient for 3 months already tho... All we hear is "...late this week or ...next week or ...week after and ...after"
Patience is a virtue... not all bugs can be replicated in their HQ and it's not like it's a zillion of bios engineers working on it either... some fixes screw up another thing and then they have to start all over again... would love to pass you a few review (read pre retail) samples see what you can figure out in a matter of hours/days... patience, patience... at least they are working on it...
This BIOS has to be right when released. Once flashed there is no going backwards by reflashing. So any issues, even if the board is unusable, is where most users would have to stay until another BIOS release. Wonder how much patience there would be if that was to happen.
Crosshair IV F BIOS 1005 is out but no idea about changes
it's only out until bingo13 informs us that it's out :)
It's out in ASUS ftp://ftp.asus.com.tw/pub/ASUS/mb/so...ir_IV_Formula/ and in my USB so I guess it is :).
^^It's not containing the latest AGESA (Compared it to the M4A89GTD Pro USB3 - BIOS 1605 from first post)
Also: BIOS Date: 08/06/10
Will skip this one and hope bingo13 will post a newer one later on today :)

Improve system stability
Yup, nothing 'new' until next BIOS version
I am starting to get impatient bring out a new beta or something for the M3NHT Deluxe mobo. I may have to just order a gigabyte mobo now! my patience is running dry.
Hey CrimInalA thanks for the updated news, now I will hold off on buying a new board I will keep it. I can wait two weeks for an updated bios. I would just like to get my new 1055T working stably thats all mabey overclock it a little as well.
I was just kidding mate , i dont know anything about asus bios releases .
The only one who knows is bingo13 .
the bioses posted above are old .. don't know why asus is putting those on their ftp .
BIOS 1005 is from this month, if you count later testing & QA it's not old at all, don't expect a BIOS dated 27/08/2010, if you don't like 1005 you can always wait for the next unless you need more stability overclocking. BIOS is now mirrored on ASUS download sites so you can even use ASUS Update (I do it from the BIOS personally).
BIOS 1605 for M4A89GTD-PRO.
Bugs:
USB Sound Cards cause BSODS.
Has anyone flashed 1005 for the C4F yet?
I'm going to later on tonight as long as I don't hear any horror stories... ;)
BTW: I'm with you birdiex, I can't imagine there are 2 versions of 1005 and that this is not the one bingo has been talking about.
I have installed it, since there are so many settings I didn't notice anything new but I tried Level Up and it worked just fine with a X4 965
hmm - not had much luck with this 1605 BIOS with my 1090T / M4a89GTD-PRo UB3 / 4 x Corsair CMX4GX3M2A1600C9
Used to use these settings for 24/7 Prime95 blend stability:
Using DCOP for standard mem specs
1600Mhz 9-9-9-24 - 2T @ 1.65v (Had to manually set tRC to 41 as per mem specs)
200x20= 4Ghz - CPU Volts 1.46v (set to 1.428 in BIOS with load line calibration takes it upto 1.46v when needed)
200Mhz FSB - 2200 CPU-NB (because of 4 sticks of ram) @ 1.2v
CPULoad line Calibration enabled
CPUNB Load line Calibration enabled
All with a Corsair H50-1 - get about 34Degrees C idling, 45 - 48 Degrees C gaming (BFBC2) and 62Degrees C when fully whacked with Prime 95 blend for solid 24hour stability test
Tried for 2400 on CPU-NB with 1605 with more vcore and more cpu-nb volts to no avail so went back to what I deemed stable (as per above) - however this is now not stable either!!! :(
Heres hoping on a newer BIOS as we can't downgrade :( - teaches me for being impatient and trying a BETA bios I guess lol
I got this with my X-Fi Fatal1ty even with the current official BIOS - havn't had it with 1605 though!
PS - Also tested my Intel 80Gb G2 SSD to check for performance - still seems to be ok kicking through 250MB/s read speed :) - using MS AHCI drivers
still not sure if ATI drivers support AHCI / TRIM so steering clear of them for now....
Early impressions of bios 1005 for the C4F....
I've only tested it for a couple hours, but since no one has said anything I thought I'd offer some observations.
I'm going to go out on a limb here, and say don't worry about upgrading!
So far it seems to be much more OC friendly than 0905 and after 2 hours I don't regret flashing it!
Here are a few things I've found so far....
The Good:
1) The floating HtRef is virtually gone!
I've seen a little fluctuation when TurboCore is active, but it's a huge improvement/rare and barely noticeable...
2) Turning LLC on for the IMC no longer results in crazy voltage swings.
The most I've seen it OV the IMC is ~.02v.... This is MUCH better than the .3v swings I saw using 0905 (that was scary!) this is useful and in fact, may be a little weak...:p:
The Bad:
I have a 1055T so using TurboUnlocker comes in very handy for me. The only negatives I have to say about the newest bios relates to Turbo.
1) Activating Turbo appears to work (shows up in the status box), but has very little effect on lightly threaded apps...
It says it's working, but benches don't show an improvement by having it on.
2) With Turbo and LLC both on it still OV's the CPU Vcore quite a bit (~.13v)...
I have good water cooling, so I'm not really worried about it, but I could see where it might be a problem for folks on air.
2a) I thought they were going to include a %value for LLC overvolt? That would have been nice, maybe I'm missing something...
Mixed:
I can't swear to this yet, but it seems like the board does a much better job of picking up the Memory's SPD chip.
This is all well and good, but setting AUTO for my Corsair GT 2000 CL8's (I was trying to take mem out of the equation :p:) resulted in a failure to POST...
Just keep this in mind if you have high performance RAM and auto causes POST problems. ;)
Manually setting the mem frequency to 1600 fixed the problem, I'll tweak mem later...
BTW: the gear in my sig is accurate for what I'm using.
not touching these until bingo13 jumps in saying this bios is the latest and the greatest available .
So , bingo
BIOS is mirrored correctly, it's not beta even though it has one line description in features. As I said OC is more stable with a 965 and Level Up is joy, Dave outlines more features/bugs with a X6. I don't have a X6 so I don't have much to add, regarding memory I also have to set speed manually but didn't have the POST failure.
It's less indeed, but still the board swings in CPU-Z and THG clock... This is a 250HT clock screenie with a 1090T (no Turbo), 249 is closer to 4000...
http://users.telenet.be/OAP/HTswing1005.jpg
Leeghoofd: Wow.... Mine hasn't jumped more than a few decimal points, never even 1 full Mhz, even then its rare.
Are you using CnQ? I have it on, maybe that helps settle things down...
I'll turn it off and see if the float comes back.
CNQ and all that stuff is off, I'll try it on man...

M4A89GTD Pro/USB3 1605 BIOS Feedback
Thank you for your continued efforts in respect of BIOS development.
Possible issues with latest 1605 BIOS based on unscientific day-to-day usage:
1) Onboard graphics clock speed cannot be changed from default, irrespective of mode/setting.
2) Connecting an 8GB Corsair Voyager USB memory stick (newly purchased) via front USB header causes complete and total system failure. Repeatable and verified on another near identical system. Connecting USB stick via motherboard rear I/O connection does not cause system failure. Connecting different capacity memory sticks via the front USB header connection does not elicit system failure. Haven’t ruled out possibility of a fault with the new 8GB Corsair Voyager memory stick.
System specification:
ASUS M4A89GTD Pro/USB3
AMD Phenom II X6 1055T 95W @ 3.3GHz
4GB OCZ Platinum DDR3 1600 @ 7-7-7-20 27tRC, 1T, 1.65V
2 x 1TB Western Digital WD1002FAEX SATA 6Gbps Caviar Black, RAID 0
1TB Samsung F3 HD103SJ
Lite-On iHAS124
Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Titanium HD
Noctua NH-C12P SE14
1 x Arctic F12 PWM, 2 x Arctic F9 PWM
4GB Corsair Flash Voyager GT (ReadyBoost)
Corsair HX450
Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit
That happens to my CH4F from time to time when attaching an OCZ ATV 8GB thumb drive. Front panel usb ports only never on the rear. The system reboots when the thumb drive touches the usb port. Most times it's fine but every now and then reboot. I just figured it was a short in the wire or case, I hadn't really tought of it being the MB. Maybe there is more to it?
Have you guys tried changing the BIOS settings regarding USB thumb drives? There are a couple options that regard how the system will read the drive.
Update -
We are down to one last critical bug to be fixed in the new BIOS code before I can start releasing the betas. Sorry about the delay but trying to get the new code as right as possible the first time out instead of playing the release and patch cycle. Of course two Typhoons hitting Taiwan this week does not help. ;)
Hi folks, thanks for the input.
I reviewed the USB settings in the BIOS and disabled legacy USB support, which seemed to improve matters in the sense that the system failure is now only sporadic. This could be pure coincidence though. My initial thoughts were that there was some electrical fault, but I discounted this on the premise that connecting other USB memory sticks via the header connection does not result in a system failure.
It is a problem that I can work around.
System specification:
ASUS M4A89GTD Pro/USB3; AMD Phenom II X6 1055T 95W @ 3.3GHz; 4GB OCZ Platinum DDR3 1600 @ 7-7-7-20 27tRC, 1T, 1.65V; 2 x 1TB Western Digital WD1002FAEX SATA 6Gbps Caviar Black, RAID 0; 1TB Samsung F3 HD103SJ; Lite-On iHAS124; Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Titanium HD; Noctua NH-C12P SE14; 1 x Arctic F12 PWM, 2 x Arctic F9 PWM; 4GB Corsair Flash Voyager GT (ReadyBoost); Corsair HX450; Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit.
@Bingo
Just wanted to ask, if u guys are still working on Bios improvements for the Crosshair II Formula paired with a X6. Turbo Boost is still locked and cant be turned off, Multiplier Settings wont show any effects.....
Regards
what about the M4A79T?
I mean it just seems like asus gave us the support for thuban, but then gave us the finger and not update it anymore.
Just wanted to let ya know...
I never saw a huge swing in SPi or early testing, but your right, it's still there.
I've had a little more time now and when I was doing stability testing using IBT it did infact float by a ~3 Mhz and everytime it did my rig froze... :(
It's definetly better, but still not completely gone, btw it did that reguardless of my CnQ settings.
I still like 1005 much better charged, but it still has a few quirks.
Looking forward to your experiences...
So bingo, is the 1005 on the FTP site the C4F bios you've been telling us about, or is there something better in coming up soon... ;)
Where can I pick up 1005? Noob here, still playing with stock HSF and autoOC till my 212+ comes in. Moving from 805 to 905 resulted in a couple of extra clocks...at a lower vcore!!!
Heres a link to Asus's FTP site Cordell Cahill:
ftp://ftp.asus.com.tw/pub/ASUS/mb/so...ir_IV_Formula/
You can pick it up there... ;)
It's officially on ASUS downloads page as well
I'm having a nightmare time with 1605 and my 1090T - no matter what I try - it refuses to prime stable @ 4Ghz irrespective of vcore / settings :(
Prime95 Blend lasts a maximum of 3-4hours before either causing BSOD, Blank screen, or complete reboot!
Used to work 4Ghz perfectly fine (24 hr's prime blend stable) on all previous BIOS's with Turbo Off
ta for the advice mate, any more is welcome!
Didnt think I needed to touch NB voltage as I could easily run 200x20 (with 2200Mhz on CPUNB) on all previous bioses without upping the NB - or do you mean CPUNB? if you mean CPUNB I tried loads more volts on that to no avail.
Its wierd in that it always fails at 3-4 hours..... temp is not an issue as I'm getting as high as 60 Degrees C (Used to get higher than that before no probs around 63Degrees C)
Tried literally everything (more vcore and CPUNB) but it refuses to prime stable with 1605 bios @ 4Ghz :(
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE Asus - New bios as I can't downgrade I believe - or can I?
@zoomee : not cpunb , but NB voltage . alter that by 0.1 and test .
bingo13 , hope you get back to us soon with a beta bios :D
Just tried upping the NB by one notch, then by two notchs from 1.3 - same thing - BSOD :-(
zoomee: Did you try setting your RAM timings manually?
They may have made changes with Auto Mem timings....
Hey~ wonder if anyone else got weird temp reading from CPUID Hardware Monitor for C4F...
It shows TMPIN2 - 128C
I have it too.
I always use DOCP - so it automatically puts in most of the correct entries - apart from trc which I always have to change.
All the other memory settings are just way to complicated - other than the usual 9-9-9-24-41-2T and volt settings which seem to be set ok.
I did a dry run yesterday just to make sure it was all working ok at stock settings - Prime ran for like 20 hours + - lol - seeing my CPU running at 41Degrees C under full load was hilarious (stock 3.x setting) - as I'm used to it hitting 60Degrees C @ 4Ghz/1.46v!
dissapointed now as no more overclocking for me until a new bios is out - its either 4Ghz or bust! :shakes:
Bingo13 is probably going to come in tomorrow and say : "End of next week!" .
j/k :D
ftp://ftp.asus.com.tw/pub/ASUS/mb/so...-ASUS-1606.zip
1606 is out among others
08/24/10 build date.
Hope their is a beta for the M3NHT Deluxe Mobo. I cannot change any CPU voltage settings or anything on my 1055T. I also get a 0X101 BSOD as well random freezing while playing games. Never had this with my 940BE, hopefully the issues will be resolved soon please Asus.
No point in releasing a new Ch4F bios if there are known critical bugs in it, right?
I for one rather wait for a proper release - still beta though ;)
If i get really bored/inpatient i could try to import newer agesa & updated roms myself into 1005, but naaah....
my gskill flare can not run on ASUS M4A87TD/USB3 , but it can run when i press the memoryOK switch. Should i update the official BIOS to beta BIOS?
BIOS isn't beta as ASUS made it official (even though some don't like it) and overclocking (at least with a 965 and a 1055T) is more stable, as for real critical bugs (like system not booting at all) I'm sure people will complaint ;)
Anyway, latest new BIOS are:
ASUS M4A87TD EVO 1005
ASUS M4A89TD Pro USB3 1006
ASUS M4A87TD USB3 1005
ASUS M4A87TD 1005
ASUS M4A89GTD Pro USB3 1606
Call them whatever you want or wait a couple of days for them to appear on the official motherboard downloads page :P
The BIOS are under ftp://ftp.asus.com.tw/pub/ASUS/mb/ if not already mirrored to ftp://ftp.asus.com/pub/ASUS/mb/
I wasn't refearing to 1005 as a beta, but the upcoming one we all wait for bingo13 to post here.
Even though Asus also post beta bioses on the support/download site sometimes, and make them official (see 0701 & 0707) ;)
As for the critical bug:
If they aren't done with all features 1005 may be a transition BIOS, if there's a new BIOS in 7-14 days you might as well skip it, if you have a X6 you will probably be more tempted to try it
Well since there has been no news lately on the M3N series boards I guess mine is garbage then. Too bad it has been a good Mobo, guess I will have to buy an AM3 board what do you guys recommend. 980A any better since I have TRI SLI 260's
Just saw 1606 bios for M4A89GTD PRO USB3 on the asus ftp, what's new?
It can't be as bad as 1605 thats for sure!!!
Thanks Asus -
Priming now on 1606 as I type this!
Seems more stable and reliable than the last one and for the first time EVER - this bios has correctly picked up ALL my RAM settings (including correct trc)- yay :)
PC Probe reported various jumps in Vcore on 1605 - whereas on this one it seems more stable like the older BIOS's :)
Also noted that the FSB stays more around the 200Mhz mark instead of jumping slightly.
So far tis all good :) - Will report back if I can run 24hours prime stable again :)
:up::up::up::clap::up::up::up:
Any M3N-HT love? its been like 3 months :(
