OK - bring on the big pcmv score now!
Yeah right, I'm so far down I can hardly see you and mike anymore. Don't drop a penny from up there it will crush my skull. :x
Edit: So I just played bc2 for a couple hours @4.5ghz vcore/vtt 1.4000, everything else was stock. Except for pcmv, bc2 is the most taxing thing I will do with my computer so I think I'm ok for 4.5ghz 24/7. My cpu hates linx and needs 1.4500 to be stable but I'm in the club so no more of that, hopefully there are no dues. :)
Mr mb - yes, welcome! No dues other than the big $$$ in cost you to get here!
But your not done - oh no - not be a long shot - I'm still checking the orb for your new pcmv PR!
Mr Zalbard - in the OP please change my 980x batch from 3003B827 to 3003B287, thanks!

Hey Deadly :) just a simple water cooling.
Hi
I have recently upgraded to 1366 platform from 775.. so still a nubi on OC these .
I hope you can add me to the 4.5 LinX Club.
I have just completed 20 passes at 4.55mhz(HT off) i7 920 (3938B023), 1.528V vCore CPU-Z Load 1.84V PLL, 1.325V VTT, 1.64V DRAM.
Getting close to the limit of my WC system, room temps 80F.
Although I have started to prime 4.59hmz.. I think i am BCLK limited cant go over 219 on this mb. R3E in my sights when they are out..

mw - very nice! - nice low temps - what are you using for cooling?
SteveRo;
Thanks...I took advantage of a cold front that came through and opened the windows so the ambient was about 16-17C. If that had not happened, and I ran the chip at 4.5 with the windows closed at 23C, I would see core temps around 72-74C. Still, I think I can eek another 30-50mhz from this 920.
You can see my build with my signature link, but I've got a MountainMods ascension with cpu/mb/ram cooling by 2 DDC 3.25 in series with res top/acrylic res going to two 3.120 XSPC and one 1.120 XSPC rad; currently not push/pull, but planning. Usually, I can leave the fans at 900-1000rpm and the only
thing I can hear is the GPU.
rob
mw - excellent cooling!
Hey, SteveRo got our 980X 3003B287 twin to 4.531 HT on.............
Low gigglybops though
(Booted into 'Diagnostic Mode' and quickened my memory timings

Nice work Mr Newhit!
Really nice low temps also!
Yep, B287 seems to be a good batch.
Many of us are getting low gflops with the 980 - might me a linx problem.
Great job, everyone!
Keep pushing your CPUs! :D
2 weeks ago, a couple of hours Prime95, but forgot to run linx :).

HA-HA...bottom of the list...can only go up from here.
reminds of the joke: what do you call the guy who graduates last in his class in medical school?......Doctor.
rob
Wow The gamer how you do that Golden batch :P with what mobo was that?
The CPU is crazy but the second core is too bad. I can pass super pi at 5.8GHz with only one core enabled.
http://img219.imageshack.us/img219/9...b553d31844.jpg
Can run prime at 5.4GHz with the same core but the second one is dying 200Mhz lower not only at prime cause of the heat but super pi too :(. If the second one can pass super pi 1M at 5500MHz the first one can pass it at 5700-5800 with the same Vcore.
The MB is GB EP45T Extreme, NB is air cooled for both prime and super pi :).
Btw the cooling is SS phase change and the CPU is going above 0 degrees, no cascade or LN2 :).
been trying out a lot of different overclocks, benching the crap out them trying to find the right RAM speeds/ CPU speed combination, this is the lowest RAM speed overclock I have tried, and I forgot to drop the VTT down from where it was needed to run 2200 MHZ stable. also higher RAM speed seems to raise G flops.

Very nice justin!
When are you going update your pcmv score - long overdue - and with 4x x25m - a real shame!
Thanks.
I had first place for like 2 days. lol I will wait till Intel's next SSD before I attempt it again. :D
When I had 8 Intel SSD's on a LSI 9260, I should have posted up my scores, but they were not enough to take the top.. :p:
Your currently at 13th - with your current setup you don't think you could get at least top ten - maybe top five!
EDIT - I've had first place now 4 times!
The longest I've stayed there is 54 hours!
1 or none. :D:rofl:
If you remember your log in - you should at least go in and give your 13th a title - http://www.futuremark.com/community/...pcmarkvantage/
done
ok,heres my entry into the i7 section.i hope it's ok that i'm only running 4GB.
i dont have a triple channel kit at the moment, but i'm trying to rectify this.
as for cooling,i've got my cpu under water plus AC to keep the loop extra cool:up:

Much Congrats Mr's Radaja and Newhit - nice runs!
Newhit - I see you're getting aggressive with the temps.
First time I got a i7 prime stabe 8hrs at 4ghz I was at 97C.
I went on to set a pcmv WR with that proc- your fine!
It's weird really. The temps fluctuate about the late fifties to nudging seventy but when I come back to check that all is well I find 80 to 91 degrees logged on 'Real Temp' but if I watch LinX testing for a while there is only 60 to 70 degrees fluctuations........weird

Good job, guys! It's great to see Gulftowns almost hitting 4800! :D
kitfit1 - your setup and skills are crazy, respect!
TY , i am impressed by Gulftown so far...
Thanks radaja :)

http://i162.photobucket.com/albums/t...h_IMG_8448.jpg
For the BIOS template i have to go home and see...
I have a feeling 3003B320 is the new golden batch.
I've only seen two of these, one is yours, and the other one passed AM3 at higher frequency than most chips can post at... See the list here.
Hey guys and girls... can I join your club?
batch number is 3912A859
Enzo78,very nice.great vcore for 4.66Ghz.thats one of the better
39 chips ive seen.thats the kind of vcore you'd expect to see with 38 batches:up:
Always nice to join a cool club ;)
From what I have read on these here forums is that its the strength of the imc in the chip that allows higher bclks? I can boot into windows at 225bclk 1.34qpi/vtt so there maybe abit more in the chip yet.
New submittion @ 1.36v
http://img29.imageshack.us/img29/491...120mb13.th.png
Same CPU as above. :)
I can't believe there is only a single socket 1156 CPU
Makes me feel so much better about my 4.82ghz quad prime stable (30min++) i7 860 @1.44v; good 24/7 cpu. Only does 4-5 passes of Linx though so unfortunately I won't be joining the club. I was thinking about spending a bunch of time tweaking and getting a #1 spot for the i7s (would be hilarious to see a 1156 cpu as #1), but the recent submission of 4.84 is definitely not something I can surpass. 4.82 would already be at my limit for 20 passes of linx.
I can't believe I got such a good CPU. This chip + more capable hands + LN2 = all CPU 1156 WRs.
I would need a better mounting mechanism for my single stager. I am using socket 775 mounting for 1156! Yes, it is as horrible as you are imagining it. Backplate had to go and a few things had to be made on the fly and the contact still isn't good. Temps as high as 10C when Linxing with -35C evap temp.
told ya i be back:D
can only run 4gb i have 6gb in but windows won't see 2 after 225blk
cooling mcp320+gtz+jeep heater rad+655+some cold air
batch #3849B018
i'll be back :D when i sort out cooling +ram issues
and go higher;)
Well finally i can join
changed rad and block and can linx at ~1.4vcore at normal ambient temps 22 to 24C, before i had to hit 10C AC to the rad
either way temps are high but system holds it before it was a < 1sec BSOD :)

thanks man

with the pi max i did on rex was 1940mhz 6-9-8-24 stable over 1940 not even volts help
and i did it with e8600;)not a quad
i put in 6gb windows sees 4 i put in 4 windows sees 2:rofl:
i'm not goona run linx with 12gb:rofl:
tried primin n was a peice of caked compared to linx:rofl:
hey i'm game stable too:D
i thought the minimum was 2GB installed?so that run should just fine.
on my i7-920 i only had a 4GB kit on hand and it was ok.i picked the
max memory setting and it was just over 2500 and it was ok.
Quote:
You must have at least 2GB of memory installed in the system.
Screenshot must show a CPU-Z window with 4.5GHz+ frequency.
Screenshot must show a LinX window (max memory settings, click "All" button, or pick the last memory size option from the drop down menu, the "All" option is highly recommended) either running the 20th+* loop with no errors, or with 20+* successful passes.
dont worry you can still do 4.8Ghz,i can help you with that problem.just send me 6gigs.problem solved:rofl:
Very well done, everyone!
The list should be up to date. :yepp:

Thanks radaja.
I've been having an issue with this CPU in the past, couldn't get it above 4.2GHz. For some reason today, I felt like seeing if I could do any better. Keyed in some numbers into the BIOS, tested for stability, and was able to finally get somewhere. :rocker:
I'll update my signature today, here is a thread in the watercooling section aobut the setup
http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...d.php?t=251857
That's very nice for such an inexpensive chip! Great vCore, too!
Did XP 32 bit make much of a difference, what do you think?
Hell, yes! :D
Welcome!
Congrats! I'm sure you can get it higher than that judging by your vCore! :D
Quoted because it looks sexy! :D
I'll bite at your submission, though. Just 2.5GB of RAM used by LinX when you have 6GB installed? Are you using a 32bit OS?

Intel I7 980X Batch 3003B475
I just noticed this when someone pm'd me in the forum and asked me about my QPI voltage. When I had my 920 c0 then 920 D0 my QPI was 1.50v(on Air), but since I watercooled my system and the QPI/RAM controller on the R2E it dropped down to 1.20v(Lowest on this board)! Thats 12Gig at 1866 at cas 8. Although I've never had a problem running 12 Gig stable with this board(Been running it over a year now), Its an oversight that I never noticed till now. Enzotech's QPI/Dram Waterblock makes a big difference. Hope this helps someone. fyi.
