Where are all the pictures?!
enough of the liquid helium this, and the ln2 that, it is about time for some pics of booth babes or maybe a few of the gang at one of the local "Gentleman's" Club's.
Stays in Vegas my tooshie, lets see some pics!
All kidding aside, great work guys, very impressive stuff you are doing, don't forget to have some other fun though!
cough* 6.3 3d benchable!! cough -238c cough* ok to tired.. i had such a blast at the party... TY fugger!!!!!!!!!!! had a great time meeting everyone and would LOVE to do it more often. everyone there was so kind...:up::yepp::yepp::p::p::cool::D;)
This is what we are waiting for. 6.4GHz, well done. And the NB/L3 speed is just insane :D Soon we'll see 7GHz or more when your Phenom II scales better in frequency with the cooler liquid helium.
Crazy, congratulations. Very impressive results. Now LN2 is not the king of coldness anymore concerning hw cooling:cool:
Just wanted to thank Charles and the rest for putting it on, I had a good time. Was nice meeting the rest of the board members. The Memphis BBQ was top notch, all around good night watching some of the pro's at work.
inspired to actually get something together in the near future and and run with ln2. And actually have some type of result to show for lmao.
Very nice results!
Hope to see some more! :)
Absolutly Amazing!
let us see more
what do you do against the super fluid effect
Thanks to Gigabyte, Intel, AMD, Cooler Master, Commodore, Thermaltake, Koolance, EK, Corsair, ATI and Nvidia.
The day was perfect, couldnt have been any better weather to enjoy in Vegas. Both AMD and Intel put on good shows but best of all was getting Oppanter and Movieman on karaoke. The best prizes went to this group and dave took home a new EK waterblock for LGA1366, Dave sings like mozart
On the Intel side was rather mild clocks of 5.3ish Ghz, I didnt watch the Intel side too much but I did try some more agressive clocks and no post, I will work on the golden chip in the morning to squeeze out the 6ghz milstone. and on the AMD side was at least 6.3Ghz up on the displays. It was cool to see helium boil off and the chips doing good in the cold but I had hoped to see 7Ghz from AMD.
Overall everything went perfect, tamale lunch lasted till closing and memphis served everyone well stuffed for the evening. I hope that everyone loved the food choices.
Thanks everone for coming out and checking it out.
Its 4AM and going to crash...
well done to amd ....good show.....4am......sleep is for wimps.....sounds like a great day was had by all
well done guys !
So bad we didn't mange to set up a good live broadcast in time ;) that will be ok next time !
Congratz ALL we're waiting for the events pictures and video \o/ !
Many Thank you for the XS Party in particular at Charles , Mike , SF3D , Sampsa , Macci , Freak , Francois , Jasmine and all others guys (sorry if i forget your nickname).
It was a very good party , funny & cool !! congratz for your work of the organization :)
i hope to come for the next time :)
Thanks to Fugger and all. The party was pure awesomeness. The only shortcoming was that I did not see Fugger sing.
Wow! I had a great time and hope all who attended did also. Nice to meet so many of the boardies and some of the top people in the OC industry. Thanks to Fugger and the sponsors who made it happen.
Yeah it was great fun, i got to meet alot of cool people. Thanks amd for the cpu, and gigabyte for the board, theyre gonna rock! The cooler master power supply is awesome too! The food was delicious, and karaoke hilarious. Hope to be back next year!
http://i218.photobucket.com/albums/c...owersupply.jpg
Hey :) it was nice talkin to ya, next time be sure to snag a board! ;)
Oppanter is fuggin hilarious. Just add alcohol and you have all the entertainment one could ask for. I wondered if they were going to strap a pot to his head and cool him down with liquid helium before he overloads. LOL
Sounds like a good time was had by all. We need pics to live vicariously through you guys. :D
I would have loved to see OPPAINTER and Dave sing.
Put the video of that up on YouTube! I will probably mute it, but not before concluding that his singing will make you more deaf than his phone calls!
Screw the booth babes I just want pics of how much drool was hanging off of dave's chin when he saw the booth babes........I could use a new avatar :D
Do i see a SLI bridge?or is it crossfire?
http://plaza.fi/s/f/editor/images/20090110lv3.jpg
IF so what board what benchez? Give us more info!!!
yepp radeons, seen it in the rest of the pics:rolleyes:
The simpliest way to describe the day is that it was one to remember.
I got to meet some of the legends in our hobby.
Just good people, no big ego's, just regular down to earth guys.
Then there were the people I wanted to meet personally;
Charles,Mike Guava( one of the nicest people you could ever hope to meet) Darthbeavis,Buckeye,Conumdrum, boblemagnifique and so many more.
Then there was Dr.Who2, Francois Piednoel from Intel.
A guy I wanted to meet and can we say that if Intel ever parts with him he can go out for a linebacker's job with the NFL.. BIG dude!
The weather was perfect, the party set up with a professionalism that made it all go smoothe.
Food to feed the group and I will guarantee you that no one went home hungry.
Now as to this rumored singing by myself.
I think it may be a urban legend.
Fugger was on me like the pitbull from hell ALL afternoonto sing but my years working with the CIA allowed me to keep out of his sight most of the time!:p:
I had images of people manually removing their own ears if I started to sing and it just wouldn't have been right to force that upon them!
I did however after all the camera's were turned off sing a few bars of "Stranger's in the night" with only one witness lest I be called a liar!
A guy that needs ro be mentioned is [cTx]Riggs, one of the younger people there and just a nice kid.
Your parents can be proud of the young man they raised.
I was glad to see him win some prizes.
Then the manufacturers, Thanks to Gigabyte, Intel, AMD, Cooler Master, Commodore, Thermaltake, Koolance, EK, Corsair, ATI and Nvidia for the wonderfull prizes you provided.
Last I'd like to Thank Fugger.
You put together one hell of a get-together that I will never forget.
You were the perfect host and Thank you for all you did.
I mean that from the heart, a day I will never forget.
OOPS, one last thing:
OPPAINTER; mix 3 parts beer and one part crazed southern Californian and you have OPP..
A party animal if there ever was one.
I'm sad that I couldn't go. Next year. Anyways--sounds like an awesome party, with the exception of hearing the above (n00b) admin sing!
What are you going to do with that GTZ, Dave?
No booth babes, but there was Jasmine acting as hostess.
To say she was a '10" would not be properly describing her.
Now imagine a young lady, perfect figure, beautiful face and add in a pleasant outgoing personality and you have just an idea of who she is.
She handled herself with a poise beyond her years.
The best way to say it is just a nice person that your glad you met..
Had a great time last night! Thanks to everyone that helped put on the event. Met a ton of really great people! Here's a few pics I managed to grab:
http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b3...as184Small.jpg
Great pic of RA1D and fugger (with Craig from CSX making an appearance!):

Meant to get more pics, but instead I got more drunks. Thanks again everyone!
Man that was a great time !!
It was really great meeting a lot of people that I have only seen posts of. Charrles had a top notch event at his place with some amazing benching being done by amazing people.
Thanks !
My ears are still ringing from Movieman, all ear plugs had been used up, worn out and tosssed before I came. Was great meeting Dave tho !!
Thanks to all the vendors that made this possible also !
sounds like you guys had a blast , and for sure seems like someone got their rigs pushed after the KPI model...
great work and cool backup by the companies
hehe Dave is a really cool guy and it was a pleasure to met you my friend
A few more pic's
Ok some pic's coming up
The big tent outside durning the day.
http://img255.imageshack.us/img255/5381/img0452eh9.jpg
The cold stuff
http://img238.imageshack.us/img238/6497/img0455sk9.jpg
They had 2 small tanks of Liquid Helium :)
http://img238.imageshack.us/img238/5276/img0456on1.jpg
The crew durning the day getting things tuned up with LN2. That pot would take a full thermo of LN2. They would pour it non stop to keep it filled up. Temps for these tune ups for -190c, about as cold as you can get with LN2.
http://img255.imageshack.us/img255/5718/img0459iw5.jpg
http://img253.imageshack.us/img253/5303/img0460xn3.jpg
Jake from EVGA was there inside having fun with a Core I7 965 setup. He was rather board here and I thought I heard hi, crying under his breath... I want to play with Liquid Helium, we are only -80c here ! ... soob... soob. Just kidding Jake :)
http://img255.imageshack.us/img255/1863/img0461it8.jpg
The over head screens as it started to get dark
http://img238.imageshack.us/img238/8617/img0462kj5.jpg
The dome outside at night. I told them... This is Vegas you guys need Lasers !
http://img253.imageshack.us/img253/9749/img0463am0.jpg
And they are starting to get ready for the Helium
http://img238.imageshack.us/img238/1074/img0465dg7.jpg
http://img253.imageshack.us/img253/8840/img0466if0.jpg
These here are at -230c which was as cold as they could go. Breaking 3DMark05 records with a 45K+change run
http://img238.imageshack.us/img238/5424/img0468ie3.jpg
http://img255.imageshack.us/img255/1957/img0469pl0.jpg
So with the setup they were using they said that they need to develope new pots to get even colder. It was pretty wild, I had to leave the tent a few times because of all the Helium in the air, you could smell it and it would get to me after awhile. They said the night before it filled the top part of the dome and started to change the sound of the speaker setups they were using.
So with these new AMD chip you simply cannot get them cold enough. You could pour LN2 by the gallons and these chips still want more. They ended up with a CPUz run of 6.8ghz I think it was. But final WR was run at -230c and 6.3ghz.
Intel was rolling inside with a 965XE setup and had some problems at first but Jake from EVGA managed to pull some good numbers out of there on LN2, I think it was 5.3ghz that I saw, he most likely got a bit higher as Jake showed Franswa *sp from Intel how to run this setup. Good Job Jake !!
It was a great event !
oww crap 6.8ghz on amd,i guess this is what happens when you grow up and confront your childhood bully:D:rofl:
nice work AMD cant wait till am3 comes out i wanna pay with ddr3
nice to see Fugger in a suit and tie for a change
looking good there Charles
did you lose some weight as well buddy
Fugger looks so wasted. Good thing there a monorail and an ample supply of taxis.
Thanks Charles, Mike, and all the others.
Well; we did much more than 5.3GHz.
I did nearly 5.6GHz @1.5v (if I'm not mistaken it was a little less than 5.59GHz) while bob was pouring the pot (at about -95C). Only suicide BTW; stability was hard to find over 5.4GHz. AFAIK, the chip was yours.
PS. I'm just realizing that it was the WR... Hopefully, the valid might still be on bob's HD. lol But I didn't care about that... :p: I'm definitely not a WR guy.
It was "only" 6.5 GHz for CPU-Z as far as I know :) The 05 WR was taken down by 6.3 GHz.
Amazing job, Team Finland. Seeing the system boot into windows at -245C seems so unreal, yet it is happening.
It was great meeting new people like grandpa Movieman and seeing familiar faces again.
The event was as perfect as it could have been, well, with one exception: The location could have been a strip club :p:
Many thanks to everyone involved, especially Fugger, AMD and Team Finland.
It was great talking to other people that share the same passion.
Oppainter is such a great entertainer. Too bad I can't list everybody present at the event, the list would be quite long. It has been a pleasure :toast:
I took a zillion pictures that I will upload when I get back to Germany. Here is what the board looked like after about 2 hours of benching with liquid helium:
congratz guys!!!
very very impresive :d
6.4Ghz for an AMD processor!
amd returns :)
how many time for 7.0ghz? :ROTF:
is there a reason you guys used the DFI LP DK 790FXB-M2RSH instead of the reference/gigabyte 790gx's ??
Not OC related sadly, but did anyone happen to catch this guy: http://www.viddler.com/explore/engadget/videos/189/
You have to wonder how much caffeine (or other perhaps less than legal substances) this guy was hopped up on. :ROTF:
A little eager?
Congrats Guys :up::up::up::up::up:
**LONG LIVE NV OC PARTYS**
When the results get formally posted/reviewed, please post some links up?
More shots. Still culling. Thanks to Christian who picked up my camera and shot a bunch of these. I had a great time...more to come.
just wow - this looks like a blast you had there. AMD scores are just going insane, like the temps :slobber: Can't wait for more pictures
all the world records, except 3Dmark2005 are intel ... even with 6.3ghz ... the phenom architecture really need a new design ... hehehehe ...
As Dirk Mayer said in 2005, frequency is not what only matters, the performance only matters ... it was followed with Hector agreeing .... hehehehe
by the way, it was very fun, thanks to all, and i hope that every body saw that the AMD guys and the intel guys were gentlemen, we expect you guys to follow our example, we had drinks together, and spoke friendly (without breaking any NDA). The war is only in your imagination, let's keep the olympic spirit ... bragging is allowed ... but respect is a must.
Francois:up:
Yeah Francois, just wait for 6 core Istanbul for desktop, lets see how 8 threads in 965@3.46Ghz go against Deneb at 3GHz with 50% more cores ;).
Oh and those -240C temps are insane :D.How about that,a retail chips with no cold bugs and no *dirty tricks* a la "disabled temp sensors" and similar :D.
You missed that 3D mark 05 run by Bob , 05 world record does belong to Intel

Congratz! :D
w00t !!
does anyone have videos ? I'm planning to make a "video" overview at least... :p
well if my camera had not taken a crap the night of the party. i would have some decent pics :( so here are a few sloppy cell phone pics.. and again it was a night to remember..... :p::D:cool::rolleyes::yepp::up:
Looks like HT cold bug is solved, and the 2k on LHe is the best proof! Good job and more pics are:welcome:
I played for many many years Rugby, you know? the sport where Men have no paddings ... Paddings ... My mom always told me it is for ladies ...

I uploaded some pictures to our website:

The article is in German for now, but at the end there is a image gallery. If you click the image it will open in a higher resolution.
so how many people were talking funny when the helium started running :D
Sounds like an awesome event! Wish I'd had the money to get out of MA, maybe next year when I'm out of debt. Nice work!
Wonder if this is it or if they will do even better once they get the new chipsets rolling (890FX) and with DDR3.
What a great time. Thanks to Charles, Jasmine, OPpainter, and everyone else who put together a fun evening. Thanks to CoolerMaster for the CSX Cosmos case, it is beautiful!
http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y16.../xsjasmine.jpg
http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y160/RA1D/xscsx.jpg
Everytime I see your goatee I get a chubby.
Hey everyone, it's Jasmine here.
I have never been really active on the forum due to not knowing much about overclocking; however, thanks to Fugger for giving me the chance to be the hostess as this event and also the PR of XS, by this chance I was lucky enough to meet some incredibly nice and friendly people.
Thanks to your zealous attendence and dedication to the entire event. and I am more than happy to see everyone have a good time there .
This is the first I hosted the event, and the entire XS team had helped me greatly that I dont know how to show my appreciation in words. In all, I would like to say a HUGE, BIG THANSK!! to all the people .
If there're anything I could have done better to assisit you or sort out for you , please do not hesitate to let me know where the problems are, I am expecting myhself to be a better presenter of this community in both socialbility- and knowledgewise.
There're so many so many names I want to bring up.... you guys were so supportive and helpful to me when I was caught up with some problems.
Later on I will try to post the pics on my facebook, if u would like to add me, feel free to,:-) happy monday,
Hey everyone! This is David, I'm the new guy that won that kickass gargoyle case. The party was vegas style for sure. Ill be postin around and throwing some pics up of the new case in action as soon as I get back to durango and have some fans. The damn thing uses 7 120mm fans.
It was def sick meeting all you.
I just got home after horribly long flight. Sampsa drove me home and I hope he is ok at the moment..we were both so exhausted :D
Here is what I feel after event:
I want to thank Simon from AMD for making this all possible for me and Sampsa. I would like to thank Sami (Macci) and Pete for their great help and experience.
Charles- This was nice event and thank you for making it real. I'll contact you later with some other stuff.
It was nice to meet some old friends and see some new guys too. I'm sorry, that we all were so busy in AMD tent all the time. It would have been nice to chat more with you guys. Too bad I missed some guys totally in the hurry.
Francois- It was nice to talk with you, even you thought that I was your enemy or something :ROTF: It was nice to watch your benching there.
OPPAINTER- You were a nice and crazy + drunk at the same time. It was nice to take some beer with you.
Movieman- I heard when you song karaoke.. it wasn't THAT bad :D
Liquid Helium- You are one bad ass super cold stuff.. I hope we will meet again
P.S After benching at -240c (32K), nothing is the same anymore! It's like driving a Ferrari and then you find your Volkswagen from garage
Hey SF3D where was my call man :p:
Jasmine, the only thing i think you could improve on is fitting me into your suitcase ;)
Francois - what was the result of all your hype about your laptop? Ive been curious ever since you first mentioned it (and subsequent numerous posts).
Still feeling a little bit strange after total +60 hours of traveling, 11 hours time difference both ways and absolutely amazing weekend in Las Vegas.
Huge thanks to AMD (Simon, macci, Pete + whole event team) for inviting me and SF3D and giving an opportunity to be a part of making a history and using liquid helium in public to cool, overclock and operate x86 processor under -200 Celsius temperatures (-242,2 C to be exact). Craziest thing is not only Phenom II X4 worked under such a temperatures and conditions, but it scaled higher clock speed and performance wise. Liquid helium was amazingly easy to operate and with better designed cpu container/block it will be possible to run even lower temperatures.
Thanks to Charles and Mike putting the event together, great meeting you guys again.
It was nice to meet and talk to everyone, looking forward next time
Thx :) Unfortunately we (well, no... my own fault  ) don't have any validations above 5.55GHz.
This afternoon bob and I were so kindly invited by Mike and we all three tried to get some a nice stuff. BTW the setup was weird; sometimes looking able to run Spi32M at nearly 5.5GHz and sometimes completely out of breath at 5.3GHz... Anyway, that was a great afternoon. Mike is definitely a great guy.
I have to say, that was one great party. So many cool people showed up. I just want to say thanks to everybody that was there, this was definitely the best CES I've been to.
OPP
Jake is a stud muffin...
I was trying to remember who it was on the other bench doing a 965 inside, you guys were also doing great !
Meet to many people at the event and can't remember everyone's names, thats what happens when you get old LOL !
Hey Opp it was great meeting you at the event, wish we could have seen some OC action by you, but it looked you were having a blast
Does anyone have a link to that mini SilverStone case that in the big tent at XS ?
That was a very hot case, been trying to find it but coming up empty handed.
Silverstone? I thought it was a Qmicra like in this build a buddy of mine did:
http://www.pdxlan.net/forums/viewtopic.php?t=1175
You did show up late but you made up for it by staying up reallll late with us also after everyone left.
Looks like it was a fun evening.
Charles, I wish I could have been there. It was great meeting you at the Gigabyte party though...if only I was sober I am sure we would have been able to talk a while longer.
Hey RAID, you got the Cosmos? Congratulations! I had planned on attending CES this year, but circumstances did not allow. I am saving up returnables and collecting change out of the vending machines to plan on being there for next year. Hope to see you there!
DUKE
No Twin jokes!
 I keep hearing bits and pieces about this laptop. This wouldn;t happen to have a certain new CPU would it? :) Does it? C'mon, shoot some info our way. Did they put a certain CPU that has an on die mem controller and huge ammount of bandwidth and happens to be an 8 threaded monster? Please tell me they did. I'd be loving that tremendously.
