Bitspower Black Freezer N790NS NB / SB 790i Chipset Block
anyone got any pics of the inside yet?
Hey!
I was about to post this!
I was playing around with my PSP and decided to check SW and when I saw BP ASUS Black Freezer, in less than 5 minutes I had my order placed
I hope the eVGA is not really out of stock because that is going to piss many people, or they are probably getting very few and are waiting to put them in stock later on for everybody to have a chance.
EDIT: Bad News (For some)
I just got notified that the eVGA block is Out of stock. They did sell pretty fast. However, I recommend you talk to Sidewindercomputers if you are really interested on getting one. There are more coming between 7-10 days.
Nice vaporware! :ROTF:
/me cries for out of stock
I'll be gaming in 7 days. Can't wait till next shipment. I'll hold out for frozencpu or just use the ek sb/sb 5 and 6 that are arriving today.
Bucky at frozencpu hooked me up :D Block is being shipped today and will be here for Tuesday with 2 Day fedex  Only leaves me with a few days to fully assemble, leak test, and wire my pc, but O well! I'll take pics too, but I'm sure R3's pics will be superior anyway :yepp:
Sweet. Really wanted to compare what BP does vs the EVGA one, though BP probably has my vote due to the sweet balck plating.
So the 790i NB/SB is out, and the 790i digital mosftet is coming soon? Awaiting these goodies to put my new 790 ftiw digital on water.
Digital mosfet were in stock until 11am I believe. I guess you will have to wait 7-10 days for the next shipment.

If people dont want to listen, let them suffer :D
Is it that bp can only afford to make a few blocks at a time ?
What's up with only sending Gary 5 blocks ?
So far customer service from bp looks pitiful and it's a shame cause the have some really nice products. My 2 cents :shakes:
Well, Vincent mentioned demand was big in Taiwan and thats why they probably had few left to send.
Im pretty sure the next shipment will have enough for everybody.
Dengyong, you seem pretty negative...
maybe because 5 wont sell?
Incase you forgotten i7 is due in 3 weeks.
Gary also knows about hera, which is probably why he's preping his inventory for the change also.
Rick if the 790i is in your price tag, an i7 with X58 is not that far from it. So chances are you'll be going on the i7 and X58 if you have the 790i.
This is probably why they have a limited supply. Remember i told vincent this.
You guys are funny.
You have 2 options.
Option 1: You buy this block, and stay on your yorkfield platform
Option 2: you upgrade to i7 and X58 forgo this block and end up spending a little more from your pocket.
Option 2 is SOOOOOOOOO much better, hence why gary's smart move to make a limited supply.
I forgot option 3.
Option 3: doesnt apply to me anymore because of my black hole sucking budget hera, You get this and i7 and you bling bling on XS.
Only a few people would fall under option 3.
It's not trolling when you call someone out on lies and the world wide recall you speak of is still relatively small quantity and it took forever.
I have trolled no more than you with your FAKE inside info.
Yes you were wrong !
How many next weeks were actually next week ?
Fake it somewhere else...:welcome:
dengyong...
i know your pain.
Andy and i both went Rant mode on vincent.
But its really gary's choice on how many he can get.
Wait til you see the price on it, and see if you do happen to buy one or if they get sold out.
My guess, people who are unaware of the i7 launch will get one. People who do know about it will wait.
People with xtra money on spending will get both.
Thats how the economy works my friend. We are not back in last year were surplus was a good thing.
Early on Vincent also mentioned releasing 780i blocks shortly after the 790i was released, anyone heard any updates concerning those? I believe he said at the time that they would be released a couple weeks after the 780i, but it wasn't a definite date, more of a rough guestimate. That was also back before a bunch of other things happened, so I'm not expecting to see the blocks for a bit, but any updated info would be nice.
As with any new architecture, many people would be hesistent to jump on the bandwagon until the first generation mobo kinks are ironed out.
Having said that, companies like Swiftech, and now BP, have a track record of being "late to market" with their engineered products and yet they do fabulously well. Its much better to get something right before release than to rush a product to market, and four revisions later, still doesn't work very well. Won't name any names, but we know who that manufacturer is.
It seems to me that the trick is not to be tied down to mobo specific blocks but to use universal blocks that tend to be readily transferrable to any new fanagled mobo.
In a pinch, why can't anybody order straight from BP or some other Asian web store? I'm pretty sure that they are in stock n Asia.
It looks like basically the people that would be sticking with 780i & 790i boards will be getting the shaft then just because a handful in comparrison will be going i7 then? Hardly seems worth not bringing out a product for if you ask me. I'd buy these over EK or anybodys but won't if they don't make them obviously. I don't plan to go i7 for a long time more than likely.
I wish I had $600 in hand to buy a Rampage II Extreme and a 940. Also another $200 to buy a Nehalem block and a new NB block.
Unfortunately, that is not the case thats why Im planning on keeping my Striker II Extreme for some time...
and just where are you pulling the these price tags?
try 250-300 for the board, doesnt need to be a rampage.
try 250-300 on the cpu.
<about right but how much is your 790i + Quad cpu>
Try 15 dollars for the i7 mount on your existing block.
talk about inflation.
I should have said $700 or maybe $800
i7 940 is going to be ~$260. Rog boards go $50 higher each time a new one is releaed. I expect the Rampage II to be $450-$500 (keeping in mind S2E was $460 at release).
There you have it, $700-$800 on two components. For people like me, there is absolutely no point on upgrading to i7 unless you have $ trees on your backyard.
Why should I go for i7? Why spend another $700-800 on a new CPU & motherboard?
My Striker never gave me problems unlike 50% of the people out there.
Now I bet there are many like me who want this block because they know that the Striker II will remain a strong performer for a good next couple of months.
I'm getting a Dell
Man, if I wasn't so tight on cash right now I'd almost be tempted to pick up the 790 block on the off chance that it actually will fit on the 780 board... That damned NB heatsink is about the only component left in my case that isn't using water or passively cooled.
Here is a picture of my 790i FTW PWM bitpower mosfet and the bistpower n/s bridge coolers:

Like?
I had the extra kookance compression fittings. And for every 90 degree it is equal to an extra foot of tubing. The koolance tech gave me that info.
Does anyone know any other place besides Sidewinder that sells these kits? /cry for OOS
Frozen CPU
Performance-Pcs might have them on monday
Finished and mounted! Thanks Bitspower and Vincent! I couldn't have done it without you're help!!! and the D-plug sli-fittings are so sickening cool for my Tri-sli!!!

crossover8 nice rig! I like the black tubing. Any more pics?
That is one very cool and expensive setup you've got there! Really nice, shame the 3 vga cards are covering most of that beautifull bp block. :D
Any word on these for the 780i vincent?I would appreciate any info.
Anyway to use just the NB/SB block for the Striker 2 Extreme and leave the other mofset sinks as is? I want to keep my lighted ROG thingy.
