Its up to you mate, as they have 100 coming in with only around ~28 orders. I'd think there will be enough tomorrow for any more orders but if you could, just to be on the safe side, order today? ;) Won't do any harm :DQuote:

Just had confirmation from scan, that my order of 2 E6600's (retail) have shipped :) and should be here tommorow
Cancelling my ocuk pre-order first thing tomorrow because of the bull:banana::banana::banana::banana: I've been listening to on their forums. Rather than most shops where it's customer first, on ocuk it's moderator first. Any sort of customer opinions you post on the forums which show them in bad light get instantly deleted.
The amount of bull:banana::banana::banana::banana: that gibbo has been saying over the past 6 weeks. First in UK? Well done you got 20 of em, Scan and Nova got them today aswell.
Never ordering from ocuk again. They can eat my :banana::banana::banana: for all I care.
PS: Banned from their forums now. Thank god tbh, I really don't want to go back. The company deserves to die a horrible death.
What you say over there to get all those deleted posts? Got them mods going that's for sure.
Can anyone tell me if the 6600's you guys have been dispatched from Novatech or Dabs are Retail or Oem cpu's??
Nothing really, he just mentioned that he had ordered from another supplier £20 cheaper and that he was going to cancel one (whoever shipped first, he would keep). Thats what i remember of his first post. There was nothing harsh or anti-competive in it at all. I remember it, because i posted directly under it, saying that other competitors were also shipping today (scan in my case)Quote:

None dispatched from Dabs as yet. No update on delivery from Dabs either.Quote:

Oh and I saw your post on ocuk and totally agree with you, those :banana::banana::banana::banana:s can shove them up there arse!
I also sent you an email.. please ignore it, it's from Jimbo lol.
Not yet, I ordered it only this evening when I found out I wasn't in the first 20 on ocuk and that novatech have about 74 coming in tomorrow which haven't been pre-ordered. Even if they don't have one for me tomorrow, it's still £23 cheaper than ocuk inc postage and doesn't seem like ocuk would have got mine this week anyway.Quote:

Amen to that mate, well I think I will order mysel a ASUS P5W DH from Chillblast to go with the 6600. Not only are they cheaper than OCUK but they are also garunteed Bios ver 0701.

Yup, mine was from chillblast. Early batch though so had 0401. Had celeron to flash anyway so no problems for me. Couldn't fault chillblast one bit, cheaper, EXTREMELY quick email reply and item came very well packaged and on time.Quote:

Theres no way there at the same level of business they used to have, as there close i go there for a lot of small items BlankMedia stuff like that (as it saves on ordering online and paying delivery) and it used to be that when you went there it took between 30-40 minutes to get served (which was really bad, we used to joke about it all the time). If you went on a saturday morning you could be looking at 1 to 1 and half hours before you even got to the counter, the queues would be out the shop. Now however in the last 6 weeks, the shop as been almost empty everytime and the guys in the back don't exactly seem rushed off there feet either.
Woohoo Jimbo is here :toast:. Great!
I can't believe they banned you :slap:. Didn't even mention any competitor! What's the difference between saying "My order has shipped from someone else" (Which they didn't ban) and saying "I got it £20 cheaper from elsewhere" (Which they did ban). They have no consistency at all and ban whoever the hell they like, they don't see that they're losing customers this way . Ah well like i said before...
Novatech FTW!
Heh Thanks for the welcome Beenom, nice to be somwhere where we can speak freely without fear of the ocuk mafia dons, slapping down on our ass lol. :DQuote:

Just thinking which shops I've had problems with in the past..
No problems before first ocuk order.
ocuk.
Ebuyer once sent me the wrong motherboard in the right box but I didn't have to pay for it to be shipped back. The Courier came and picked it up free of charge and I got the refund, including the postage cost I paid within 3 days.
ocuk again.
Now this bull:banana::banana::banana::banana: again from ocuk..
I really don't know why I thought of pre-ordering from ocuk. :/
I find it disgusting the way Gibbo talks to customers, and then there was that laughable Intel Guy... it was so obviouslly Gibbo in disuise.. haha the mugs.
If i had ordered from a retailer before and had problems, the only way i would have ordered again is if i felt they had done everything in there powers to rectify it.Quote:
I really don't know why I thought of pre-ordering from ocuk.
Ive had problems before with
Amazon - But they paid for the item to be returned and also gave me a credit on my next order.
Maxtor - I paid for the advanced RMA for a 300GB drive, however due to shortages they couldnt replace it (they didnt tell me this at the time), after a boat load of moaning, they replaced my drive, credited me £248 (the drive was worth 160-170 at the time) and also shipped me another drive by accident :). Totally restoring my faith in them to do the right thing for the customer
Lol, i posted the same thing in another forum, saying he was basically there to deflect the anger away from ocuk/gibbo.Quote:

hahahaha I heard about that "intel rep" visiting ocuk forums and backing up Gibbo. I couldn't find it myself but it sounded hilarious. You're probably right, they do seem like the company that would try to pull off something like that.Quote:

lol what did you say on that thread to get banned? I'm on suspension at the moment for daring to join the letters "R", "M" and "A" in sequence on someones thread (wasnt even my complaint lol). Kinda scary to think that a company would completely stifle any/all negative commentary about their service, even if its constructive, only to give the (false) impression that every single person on the forums is 100% satisfied with the service.Quote:

That is one of the funniest posts I've read in ages. I've never read so much shÃ:banana:te in all my life! I don't really have an axe to grind with OCUK, however they are pretty much alone in charging peoples cards straight away for pre-orders, and the reasons listed by Gibbo are utter bullshÃ:banana:t. For amusement I thought I'd dissect every point he made:
So they don't get their chip and move to the back of the line, simple. Whoever heard of a company doing anything other than this? If your card company declines payment when OCUK have stock and go to take it, you don't get the goods. If you go overdrawn when OCUK take the payment (i.e. payment is authorised), then that's the customers fault. The notion that any company would stop to consider whether a given customer could afford food for the rest of the week if they were to process the order that the customer has asked for is ludicrous, least of all from OCUK who most of the time don't even bother to answer the telephone to their precious customers.Quote:

Most of the time when I order something online I usually expect money to disappear from my account... I'm hardly likely to buy something costing £300+ and then act surprised when the company takes the money from my account later on.Quote:

Not taking payment when order is placed is just opening the door to a whole host of problems.
Imagine how annoyed you would be if you were 1st in the queue and stock came in but you never got yours because when attempting to charge the card there was issues and as such you missed out.
The fact of the matter is - the reason OCUK charges people in advance for pre-orders and the like is so they can continually string them along on the forums with "super insider knowledge" and "never to be repeated amazing deals", all the while amassing a fat wedge of interest on those payments. It's absolutely no surprise to me whatsoever either that the chips have been drip-fed to people in reverse order of their cost - X6800, E6700, E6300/E6400s - with the one that everyone wants, E6600, right at the back of the queue. Certainly I'm sure many people have switched their E6600 pre-orders on OCUK to E6700 OEMs simply because they are pushed to breaking point by the delays. It also wouldn't surprise me in the slightest if those delays were in some part artificial.
I'll give Gibbo his due - he's in a league of his own when it comes to spinning yarns on the forum about privileged accounts with Intel et al, when in reality as has been shown in the past loads of times - OCUK don't get stock any quicker than pretty much any of the other major UK retailers. Sometimes they're even behind, and they're certainly not always the cheapest. Gibbo does a stellar job of whipping the forumites up into a frenzy so that they part company with more money for chips that aren't even in OCUKs warehouse, on the vague promises of stock being delivered "imminently". The bloke could sell ice to eskimos.
Lol they do it all the time, there was a thread on there about 2 weeks ago, where people were complaining that some of the graphics cards they were sent, were obviously RMA/Refurbs, as they were already opened and could tell they had a bit of wear on them (only slightly). However these were full priced new graphics cards. A few others chimed in, saying they also had experienced it, then an hour or two later, thread deleted.Quote:
Kinda scary to think that a company would completely stifle any/all negative commentary about their service
You'd think they would try to solve it in front of everyone so that people know they're getting good service :stick:. I mean what's the point of forums if you're not going to use them to solve problems etc.. Maybe we should run OcUK!! :fact:Quote:

Something along those lines anyway
yeh, one of the rules is something like Don't talk about the shop on the forums. But they start up tons of "Blah in stock for amazing prices, first in UK!" threads where you can't really talk about anything else..Quote:

I highlighted in a recent thread (which was deleted, and I got suspended for) that to the casual observer the complete lack of ANY negativity on the forum paints the wrong picture. I would have more respect for a company that airs its dirty laundry in public AND deals with it professionally than one who deletes any post even mentioning shop matters. You can't run a business selling bleeding edge hardware and expect everyone to be happy all the time.. stuff they order might be DOA, it might not work properly with their hardware (and they might not be clued up enough to realise that something else was causing the problem, etc)... but what you can do is treat your customers with respect and deal with their genuine concerns as and when they raise them. You don't just wash your hands of them after you've taken their money.
If you had spent £350 on a graphics card for example only to find it was DOA, and the RMA procedure wasn't working for you at all (i.e. couldn't contact them on phone, emails going unanswered or your card in their possession for weeks while they "process" it) - wouldn't you want to talk about it with someone? Check out Reseller Ratings for some genuinely scary experiences, none of which would ever be allowed to be aired on the forum.
Well I just ordered one as well, did you get this bit?Quote:

Thanks.
Going to check out the Novatech site now.
I went mental over OCUK and their prices, i had to do a bank transfer and they had me pay THEIR bank fees, £7 Sterling...like €13!!
They blatantly lied about the Conroes being available on July 24th and spun/PR and promised by OCUK and Gibbo.
They are charging £30 above what other Etailers are charging for similiar processors.
Right now my e6600 is on its way now I need to find decent set of ddr2 ram after looking around I found this do you think this would do the job
http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/Produ...oductID=402849.
I posted a new topic on this but it got moved. Now it’s to obscure so no one will reply. I really need people’s opinions as i need to order it ASAP if you can recommend better 2 gig memory set for under 220 quid please post PLEASE:)
I didn't have much for memory so bought some ADATA 2gb ddr667 for £90. Does ddr800 which is fine by me..Quote:
