That's just great...picked up a L041C123 yesterday from MC...guess it's probably a 53X chip also eh? Can't test mine out yet...waiting for hard drive to come in the mail on Monday :)

I have noticed some stores could care less about how many they sell you and others are super strict on the one processor per person. Easy way to bypass that is bring a bunch of friends:D
I have bought 3 cpu's so far,
South africa's 2600k's are $385 :O.
all on -5 c water. (antifreeze+water+camp fridge+fishpump)
1st. L051A163 5.65 - 1.8v killed some of its cores :P. Waiting to get it back from rma.
2nd. L041B213 5.3 - 1.48v, nothing more helped
3rd. L041B213 5.705 - 1.62v (My current cpu, going to test it dice and in UD7 next)
Huh? Ohio? How?
I thought you were in malaysia... :welcome: Message me on MSN^^
And Newegg can't choose a batch for you unless you have VERY VERY deep contacts...
Like maybe something like if you were given an extra product that you didn't pay for, and you mailed it back to them, someone might be willing to bend a rule in return. But besides something extraordinary like that, you'd HAVE to somehow walk in as a will call to even have a chance...(and I don't think newegg accepts will calls).
Gonna be hard to get one without some sort of contact within the company.
And I think there aren't enough costa rica samples floating around yet because the market is flooded with Malaysian ones. Might be interesting results coming within the next few weeks, then. And I've seen at least two bad CR samples, but both were 2500k's. And depending on how much the UD5 actually overvolts, my "Good" 2600k CR might only be anywhere between good, to the better side of average...
(Has anyone hit the B3 UD5 with a DMM yet?) :/
my best chip was a blind one from newegg so i may take a chance
it nice thuo that you can sell these chips fast on ebay both my avg. multi 2500k's sold in less then 24hrs for $190 same as i paid.
It's pretty amusing how many pcs of CPU people have to go through to find a 'decent' one. The used market must be flooded with beaten on and abused CPU's run at 1.6v+ out of the box, much more so than with i7's.
still havent seen alot of people with my batch
only like 3-4 people so far
and i should really oc mine but cba :(
Yes it is most definitely playing the lottery, and I have found that you really don't need 1.6+ to max out your multi unless your chip is really really bad. All of the chips I have been through might have an hour on them and they get sold at a loss to give members who want a 24/7 and not a bencher.
My C chip does 53X. I'm want to find a 57X. I think I'll probably go to frys next week and get a couple and see what they can do.
Nope you have a good chance ay 55x+;)
i just got back from mc all they had was same batch left L041C123 and all i had was $200:) 55x 100.1bkl 1.575 ish real max temp was 90c 89c 87c 91c for 3d06 cpu tests even booted at 56x but i had 1.635 in it so i shut it down after it cleared windows.... nowww i have a chip for dice to push :yepp:
i just took a quick ss when i booted the first time at 55x just incase in crashed.
so good luck to you and the rest of you guys may your chips be high clockers

Actually is surprisingly painless for the cpu.
Out of the box.... 1.55Vcore, PLL enabled and 55X in bios settings and hit F10....
If the system black screened with blinking cursor or post code stop at 4E (Gigabyte board)...then it destined for less than 5.49Ghz (mhz. walled in beetween 3.4Ghz~5.499Ghz) no matter what you do with it.
All of this take less than 10 minutes of the cpu life
