What about 790FX boards? What about the promised voltage stability improvements? :shrug:Quote:
Beta BIOS Releases in Validation Testing as of 4/10/2011-
All 8xx Series Chipsets
im on bios 1102 and it wont let me update to any bios other than 1102, any ideas how to fix i ether get an error "this bios is older than the board" or "update module missing"
im about to try flashing in dos but i hate doing that and when there is a tool in the bios to update the bios it should work.
i just tried doing asus update and it said that the 2 bios had different subscripts so i should use dos.
i wish that i could just use winflash.
edit so bupdate in dos dose not work and gives me the same crap, is there a /option to force updates
Congrats - try this
http://www.ami.com/support/downloada...ip&InpDrvID=90
afudos /insertbiosnamehere.rom /P /B /N /C
with the command u listed i get invalid mac address, with only /s to view my roms info i get that auf is not compatible. :(
i guess i get to play see how long until i get kicked from asus phone support tomorrow
and i dont see if im having this much trouble any "normal user" is supposed to do this.
so asus support said that i could rma the board, buy a new block ($5+15 shipped, WTF u just need 1 stamp and a padded envelope) or to swap the block. i have an identical board to it so i swapped the rom but it would not even flash with a hot swap so asus is incompetent when it comes it bios flashing.
dose any1 have a beta bios past 1102
And there are still more than enough issues with certain 790FX ASUS boards + X6.
But yes, maybe you are right and I should get a 800 or 900 series board, but it won't be from ASUS for sure, if they handle customer care like that.
(Thanks for nothing bingo13 )
In what way is it Bingo13's fault?
maybe he is too busy....
Asus did post a new bios :) for the M3A79-T Deluxe yesterday (1801). It states that it supports new CPUs. If you have a X6, try it and report back for the rest of us
You still don't seem to grasp that attention has been completely derailed to Intel based boards... be already glad there is some sort of support and follow up. Maybe Bingo13 couldn't deliver to all of you, most issues have been sorted now. Be already glad the X6 runs on the 790 series, it for sure doesn't run properly on several 890GX boards I have laying around here, when being Oced...
But you will get it some day somehow when priorities/choices have to be made... Secondly it is not his job to be here, he just did it coz he likes the community... Maybe Raja can save your day...
Very intelligent input darling.... Are you continously gonna fill the thread with these kindda posts ?... In any way , I hope it makes you feel good...
Why don't you tell us what your issues are exactly. FYI, all my motherboards have issues : some have crap USB3 speeds, some older firmware then the owner, some don't resume from sleep... if oyu keep on ... bout it it iwll not help , nor go away. If you don't like Asus Support go with MSI, Gigabyte,... and move on...
And again Bingo did this in his free time... it's not in his job description to be here anway...
Lets play nice guys..
Life is what it is and no use complaining about it.
Just ups your blood pressure and aggrivates others..;)
PS: I've been looking for a certain Asus BIOS for a year+ but no sense biatching..
If it comes it does. If not then it doesn't but either way life goes on..
Also would like to say something about Bingo13:
He had family issues, big ones.
A kid with Cancer.
People in those situations you just plain don't bother at all if you have any sort of class.
Of course it isn't his job to spread lies about upcoming bios releases that never happened.
And about "my" issues, just check bingo's posts he made about 8-9 month ago about things that will come "very soon" regarding voltage issues etc.
At least he could have said that very soon is never going to happen ;)
If you want to point fingers feel free to point fingers at me.
I give Asus feedback and do quite a bit of testing, sometimes however there are other priorities.
Unfortunately those priorities have shifted to intel. Whether I like it or not in order to be able to help out with AMD i must also help out with intel since they are the majority market.
I have neglected ( I do this on my own freetime ) to work on boards that are 1 node back and to be quite honest soon they will be 2 node's back making them even less of a priority.
Regardless of any of that many times I will report back and say you know what considering it was never meant to support said product it's good enough.
Now as far as your voltage issue what are they? can they be fixed with a hard mod? If provided with a mod would you do it?
It's quite possible that may need be the case ( If you want to play overclocker your going to have to mod like an overclocker ) considering thuban power requirements differed from deneb as well as TDP which 790 boards were tuned for.
There is only so much you can do with bios when it pertains to voltages, especially when the power requirements of boards then differed from the power requirements of newer cpu's.
