ok , tried to do overclocking & I have some success so far. See two images.

What's up with ELEET and VTT monitoring? I set 1.35 in BIOS, VDroop disabled, and it says I have 1.42...
Same for DRAM. And NB core, in fact. All of these are shown higher than they are set in BIOS. Quite a bit higher.
Sadly Eleet is not that accurate for voltages. I checked mine with a DMM and the BIOS ones are spot on for VTT, 7-10mV over for VCore and 25mV under for VDimm. Didn't check NBQuote:

Any idea what's up with the black screen when overclocking? What can it be caused by?
System runs just fine, then screen just turns off, fans keep spinning, no BSOD, no reboot, nothing.
Radeon 5870, stock settings.
Can it be caused by 1.35V CPU PLL perhaps? I'm pushing for 4.2GHz atm, 12x200 passed just fine with these settings, but trying 21x200 with increased vCore and I'm getting these black screens. :confused:
Oh, and "without VDroop" means that volts won't drop under load, right? Sort of improved LLC? Or should I enable VDroop to get this effect and I got this wrong?
From what I gathered "without VDroop" should work best for overclocking, am I right? :)

I have a small problem with the 760 you guys can hopefully help me with :)
Somehow i can't get the ati to get the full 16x in lanes. The strange thing is that the second slot (wich should be possible to max 8x) with the nvidia card is actually getting the full 16x and the ati in slot 1 8x.
When i swap the graphics cards they do exactly the same, once again the nvidia in slot 1 is getting the full 16x and the ati 8x.
So somehow the classified is favoring the nvidia over the much faster ati .. ?!?!
I use 4 pci-express cards.
1x HD5870 (pci-ex 1)
1x 8800GTS PhysX (g92 version) (pci-ex 2)
1x Dell Perc 5i pci-e 8x (pci-ex 3)
1x Auzentech X-Fi forte (pci-ex 4)
It hasn't got anything to do with max lanes of the x58 chipset since (in the system stated here) actually 1 card is getting the full 16x. It only is the friggin nvidia no mather what slot it is in ......
Only when i remove the nvidia the ati gets the full 16x ...... but that isn't realy a sollution now is it ;)
AFAIK with vdroop is safer for the cpu since it idles with higher vcore and it drops under load. With out vdroop it idles in lower vcore than under load but this is said not to be healthy for the cpu. Other than that, most classified owners have said that they achieve easier overclocking without vdroop.Quote:

Already tried this, the classified then gives both the graphics cards 8x lanes instead of 1 the full 16x. I owned a rampage 2 extreme before the classified and i never had this problem.Quote:

I have read someone in EVGA Forum with the same problem but with different mobo, with an EVGA Classified 4Way SLI, but same card (HD5870), he has 4, let's say A,B,C,D. He hook up "B" in any of the slots and it was getting x8 speed.Quote:

I have that problem, but for me it is a faulty video card. There is a problem with the power connectors so if they move just slightly the card will simply turn off. I can reproduce it at will by tapping the power connectors on the card. Maybe it is a problem with the card for you as well?Quote:

Presumably you don't have automatic restart ticked in Startup and Recovery options which is why it doesn't restart? Anyway, the only way I can get a genuine BSOD and error code with the 5870 is to uninstall the ATI drivers and use standard VGA adaptor

QPI PLL = IOH VCore.
IOH PLL = CPU PLL, the lower the better for CPU VCore (undervolted after reading this thread, seems to have dropped my CPU temps by ~5C under load (and CPU VCore requirement by ~0.4 it seems!)).
ICH VCore = just a small bump for USB devices.
IOH/ICH I/O = insignificant for overclocking.
CPU Impedance = QPI Signal Compensation = Less.
Maxed out PWM frequencies - just cause I can. :p: It's supposed to help, isn't it?
100ps Skew seems to work a wee bit better than 0ps. I think!
Uncore Multi... Not even sure, really. Everything seems equally bad. Did this with 18x, 17x might be a little bit better due to my booting-into-Windows-at-4.4 experiences (16x, 18x crashed at the welcome screen while 17x crashed during loading desktop).
21x210 is a nightmare... 1.41 VCore just to boot into Windows, 1.425 for some basic browser stuff, not talking about LinX...
Any suggestions for 21x210?
There is some feeling on EVGA forums that HPET 64 can cause problems. Try HPET 32?
Also 1.65 VDImm in BIOS will overvolt the RAM in reality (at least on mine checking with a DVM)- 1.63 is about right for 1.65 actual. CPU PWM one notch down (1210?) so its close to 2 x VTT PWM frequency MAY help.

So far i managed to run 3 passes of LinX (stock cooler atm, dont want to fry the chip, waiting for full x58 block to install) 21x184 @ 1.2v. I had to up QPI pll to 1.2v to do this. Otherwise i could pass 182 bclk but i got an error at 184. Now i m trying 21x186 at 1.2v. No matter what i get an error after exactly 3m5s, as soon as the 1st pass finish thats. I tried to up vcore to 1.2125 same error. Up vtt +100mv, same error. Changed cpu skew to 100 same error. The only thing i didnt try is to go more than 1.2v on QPI pll. Any ideas on this?
Just to verify - difference between E760 and E762 is only in fact the latter supports 4way SLI ?
Regarding memory - it should be 6GB kit? If I bought two or three 4GB kits and combined, it might not work as declared due to being P55 optimized, right?

I have 3 classifieds, had one xeon, and a handful of d0's, and from my experience. IOH PLL undervolted has not increased stability, in fact when running decent 4.6+Ghz 24/7 over clocks, stock 1.8v has proven to be best for me. QPI Pll I run very close to VTT voltage, or match it. IOH I have had success with also matching/close to same as VTT voltage.
PWM's I have had luck leaving at lowest levels. Uncore multi, lowest level possible, match 2xRAM.
Skew, most chips seemed to need 0, one needed a small bump here.
Just my findings, you mileage will prolly vary.
