Same thing that happened to me. Worked yesterday, didn't today... Not a clue what it is. I raised the NB-CPU voltage and its been working well, but I have no confidence that it fixed the problem (or that it is fixed). I shut it off, let it cool down, rebooted, then it BSOD again....Quote:

IMO the FLEX Series have superior cooling and also what I know is that they have been the best 2GB Kit of Ram I have owned since DDR2 switch over out of 5 kits of Ram that I have owned even better then the $330.00 set of CELL SHOCK PC2-8000 that I owned:yepp: too bad I cannot even begin to get close to what I paid for them back in oct which was $240.00 .

Have you started to work through some of the BIOS settings for the Phenom yet? I looked through the early ones you posted, they seemed much more oriented toward the X2..... If there are some X4 ideas, I must have missed them (this thread is getting a bit LONG!!)
There are a zillion settings that may indeed affect stability for phenom OC'ing, but I have no idea what they do. :confused:

Greetings, my M2R got here yesterday, along with my 9850BE, my ram wont be here till Monday, in the mean time should I remove the chipset, and PWM heatsinks and check the grease, maybe put some AS5???
Not sure how much I can push it till I get a new PSU, gonna use my ANTEC 550watt TP2 till I get a new one....
It will also have TRUE on the CPU..

I also have a brand new Asus M3A32 MVP that I might unpack to test with. My first one spontaneously combusted (for real) and I had to RMA. Bought the DFI as a replacement, been very satisfied so far, nice BIOS for sure compared to the Asus.
Sorry about your cat dude, its a bummer, as we get quite attached to those little creatures. A couple of years ago, our great female cat (the one with the personality, as opposed to the male who was a dope), was sleeping under the open garage door, under the photo eye for the opener (she was small). We hit the garage door button, the garage door closed, and she got, well you know. Still a bummer.... a wonderful animal. We all miss her.
BTW, I'd be more than happy to beta test firmware. Been an engineer in the biz for 2 decades, and am used to pulling my hair out (although I have none left :rofl: )

The compound they use is actually not a patch on the OCZ freeze, i have never seen anything work so well and have next to no exposure on the net.

The BIOS is 12/11/2007 I believe (from what I saw at startup after clearing CMOS)
I have cleared the CMOS.
It gets to "AMD Data Update... Updating DMI Data... Success"
and then nothing at all happens. I waited 30 minutes each time and tried 3 times.
Something is wrong but I have no clue what it could be.
I also tried optimized BIOS settings, no good.
I also tried manually setting a bunch of things not in use like the 3132, SB600 IDE, etc. No good.
I can't even boot from floppy to flash the BIOS.
Any clues as to what is going on?
Issue #2:
I want to use this board with 3x HD 3870 hardmodded to 1.7V and running around 1000MHz GPU each (some over, some under).
I also want to use a Promise PCIe x1 FTTX4650 card in the PCIE x4 slot with the 3 video cards. According to the manual this is not possible, which would seriously piss me off, why put it there if you cannot use it.... has anybody used 3 video cards (16x/8x/8x I believe) with something in the x4 slot too?

By the way, the B3 Article at TTR was quite good. Took a couple of reads, but it was very informative. Actually cleared up quite a few confusing bits from the DFI BIOS and AOD. AOD actually has some benefit now that I have a Phenom parked on the board. I found little use for it with the BE 5000.
I just ordered some DDR 1066 2X2GB Reaper kit from MWave.
Looks like I've got enough ideas to work on the best clock I can get out of the BE 9850. Hopefully we can get the 790FX-M2R and the 9850 to behave consistently at higher clocks. Then I can install the Reaper kit and see if I can get the whole shebang working at peak performance.
