Ask the F5 BIOS, which is to be gotten at present in iNet for patience..., concerns a provisional first version...

Info. of the PM gigabyte? Germany the Bios is a purely internal test Bios and with us still no quality control was submitted.
QUOTATION END
Weird, Gigabyte DIRECTLY sent me the bios file in response to a technical support query, they provided the link and stated to resolve my issue "X-Fi" to use the lastest available bios, F5.
how did you contact them? Is there a support e-mail addy?
I posted the file on my server so you can get it
Here
MD5: 4A9C5D475BCD77F3FA9C3CB7F14BF1E5
And it is also over at http://www.bigappledirect.com/965pdq6.f5
This is for the Final that got taken down so not sure if it is the absolute final or not but is still worth a look .
no real difference between this and the F5d.. except "system voltage control" which is all the voltage controls either set to auto or manual
what the best bios for DS4 anyway?
damn it i want to get my hands on a DQ6
if not to have my gskills actually run the way they do on every other baord.
then i jsut want to see how ugly this baord really is when strapping an ES chip into it, actually using BOTH eps 12v+ plugs and using a GOOD psu....
how many of you people with the DQ6 are NOT using all 8 pins of the EPS 12v+ connector.... its both 4 pin plugs and they need to be used.
YET another problem has been introduced by the new F5 bios...i sent this to GB tech support:
I would like to report some serious problems with the latest F5 bios which was given to me direct by Gigabyte tech support:
http://ggts.gigabyte.com.tw/FileList/393610/965pdq6.f5
This bios release is very flawed, one crucial issue is *THIS* bios file has a major bug in that auto fan speed control is no longer functional.
I have two (2) Evercool 92mm PWM fans connected to my motherboard 4-pin fan headers which are also PWM capable. My fans are Intel certified for PWM connection/usage.
One fan was connected to the main "CPU_FAN" 4pin header, the other was connected to the "SYS_FAN" 4pin header.
Using ALL bios releases (including beta) for the DQ6 my fans would run under 1000RPM when i had the fan speed control option in bios set to "Auto".
Under "PC Health" section in bios i have "Fan Speed Control Method" set to "Auto", i also have "Fan Speed Control Mode" set to "Auto". With both options set to auto BOTH fans would be controlled by bios, and BOTH fans would run under 1000RPM.
Under "Current CPU Fan Speed" and "Current System Fan Speed" BOTH fans would disply the speed of the fans under 1000RPM.
As such my system is quiet as the fans are making less noise due to the lower RPM of said fans. Again let me say *ALL* bios i have used thus far have controlled BOTH the CPU_FAN and the SYS_FAN.
With bios version F5 this no longer happens!!..only the CPU_FAN is being controlled, the SYS_FAN is no longer controlled by bios and runs at FULL speed, 2400RPM...which in turns makes alot of noise.
Let me stress once again...this problem has ONLY been introduced since bios version F5, thus there is something within the bios that needs to be fixed quickly, please report this problem directly to the Gigabyte team resposible for writing bios files for the DQ6 motherboard and have them issue a fix quickly.
Also note....my own highest FSB has gone DOWN!...stable 440FSB, was 445FSB with F5d beta. I had F5 at 450 but it was unstable.
Not happy thus far with F5, hope this is NOT official..nothing new in bios either, they have not updated the Intel ICH8R bios nor the JMicron...no new bios options.
All they did was move things around and put voltage options in to a new sub menu...and the VDIMM voltage colors are gone. F5d had the VDIMM voltage split into three colors depending on voltage...this is gone.
Not sure why they put the voltages into a new sub menu, and the colors for the DDR2 voltage is gone.Quote:

Lestat..stop slamming the DQ6, it's a great board. The problem like with alot of mobos is the BIOS...nothing more.
I have the 8pin 12V in use, all pins connected using an OCZ GameXtreme.

Can you post your settings to get into 450 FSB.
I upgraded to the F5 Unofficial and it seems to have fixed my continues reboot cycle after CMOS battery pull out reset. it would boot normally after 20 resets but now it boots just fine. im still on my 400 FSB and it is stable. seems like this bios is solid. I have no fan in the sys fan plug so that is not a problem for me and my timings are set manually for the memory so there is no problem. my temps went down but that could just be the Arctic Silver setting in.

either way in no way shape or form did anything i said imply its a bad board even though it has not shown itself to be any better than the DS3..
i said i want one to test out to see if i can see what the deal is with it
I for one use a ThermalTake ToughPower 750W PSU, and am yet to to have a single issue with my DQ6. I can Prime for 12+ hours at 3.7Ghz and can boot and game all day etc at 3.8GHz with my E6600 at 1.525vcore. This is the least problematic setup I've ever used.
izit ok for my mobo ds4 to flash from f2 to f5? coz i skip f3 bios.and izit better to flash it by using bios menu..rather just updating thru bios utility under windows?
yes it is romeo, and lestat I'm using an enermax 620W and I deliberately chose this board because of the 8 pin connector for increased voltage stability :S...
What settings do you have your board on?Quote:
