P.S. You left out that you are on TT Big Typhoon with a replacement fan and that you buy a lot of CPUs...so this CPU is probably a pick of the bunch.......this should give better perspective on this OC........what are the worst performing chips like from these E6 CPUs that you have there.......

1.34v @2.7ghz is RARE very rare

I thought all e6 would be like that, now i have lower expectations.
windwithme has had a E6 for a while now and has said plenty of times that his 0517 E3 3000+ performs better than it.
I removed the IHS, load temps went down 5C, and i've got 3 Ghz almost stable although its taking a lot of volts
same CPU as in sig, except naked now
Prime95 has been running for over 20 minutes by now BTW

can someone explain how and why these 3000's are overclocking so damn good.
i have a 3200 with the exact same stepping and E code - E3 as the above picture and i have to run 1.65v to run 2.75ghz and 1.7 @2.8 and thats not even stable sometimes... and i an only go to 2.5 at 1.4v (default in the bios)
are alot of the 3000's turning out to be more than just a 3000 ? like a 3500 or higher just downclocked ? cuz demand is so hig so they just use other chips for the 3000's ?
Poor binning i guess, i have read this this entire thread since its inception, and in the beginning the 3500+s were being outdone by the 3000+s and 3200+s. It seems that what the CPUs are binned at has little to do with their max OC.
If you are maxing out so low though with such high voltage, i'm sure temps are a major problem for you. If you lap your heatsink, remove your IHS, and take whatever other measures you can, you will clock further.
At first i could do 2.86 max, and then after running more and using more volts, i got 2.9 stable. With watercooling, i got up to 2.94-2.96, and after i removed the IHS i hit 3 Ghz. Just minus a few degrees C from the IHS removal allowed me to do SP4M at 3015 where previously my best was 1M at ~2.98+.

nah im on water and idle at 30-33c depending on how warm my room is and MAX temp that i have seen and i mean the max is 47c under load at 1.7v
stock votlage idle 100% all the time 30c max load 40c
im pretty confident the chip is poo compared to what i see coming out of those 3000's.
but hey 750mhz overclock isnt anything to scoff at. its a nice overclock for a cpu thats under $200.
but a 1ghz overclock for a $140 cpu would be nicer ;) lol.
yes, i didn't know you were on water with that thing, APJW seems to be a pretty good stepping to me, Douirc does 2.97 relatively stable on AIR, and Cornelious (wherever he went) posted SP1m at 2.96 the day he got his... air cooling, might have been stock cooling lol. Maybe you need to remove ur IHS :)

Anyone who has a 3500+ 0519DPHW please post in with your results, seems like a sucky chip to me, I can only get 2730 stable at 1.585 volts......

if that chip is like alot of them give it some break in time, like ive reported several times when i first got it i had to go up to 1.65v just to reach 2.6ghz now after 2 weeks or so i can go to 2.75 at 1.65v so give it some time and stress it with prime and long runs of pi she will loosen up.
but it really really seems that the 300 chip is the origin of all Venice chips no matter what frequency they are at stock so thats why we are seeing then overclock so good.
go sell that 3500 and get yourself 2 3000's its the same price roughly ;)
im seriously getting ready to sell this and get a 3000.... but we'll have to see how my OCZ 4200 EL Platinum mixes with this chip.
Chips running fine been priming at 305*8.5 1.55vcore for 4 hours zero errors.
Going to burn it in like you said over the next two week's aiming for 2.7/2.8ghz.
1.8 vcore is'nt gunna kill the chip imo..
Ive run a athlonxp mobile at 1.95vcore for several month's under water without any problems the cpu is still going in a silent pc i built for my sister thats 2? years after i started putting 1.9volts through it.
well an athlon XP isnt a Venice.
they dont make them like that anymore. im a firm believer in that.
Very true, these 90nm CPUs do not take volts as well as the 130 ones. After all, Venice is 1.36Vcore by default and AXPs are 1.65.Quote:
