....did i mention DFI is a pain in the ass.....nothing's changed LOL......i think i went this way because the board came from a well know OCer (eva2000) and was tried out and performed very good without the usual RAM killing, cat killing, house burning traits.....hope it stays that way for me as well.....bioses are a lot more mature even tho you have to slave for DFI......I also got these G.skills so it was a good thing as i wasn't going to use Winond stuff on DFI.....and have all those problems......I was gonna go Asus Premium BUT low vcore put me off and I wasn't going to volt-mod the board.........Abit is much easier but in the high end RAM OCs it loses out slightly.....getting those extra few MHz on RAM means a lot to me but comes at a price too I guess.....I think CPU OCing-wise it would be the same as DFI......I actually needed a little less voltage with DFI to OC my 2.9GHz SuperPI stable CPU....hmmmm......i've been advising against DFI+Winbond and still would but TCCD combo is OK...............I also have a good solution for the chipset fan which i will post for DFI guys ;)

I have the 1t problem using tccd, totally unstable unless at 2t. What settings did you use to get her stable? I tried all the bios's, including beta and modded tictac, still a no go

Here are my settings right now as taken from A64 tweaker:

2.5,11,14,4,3,8,3,3,2,4 300mhz 1to1 2t.

yeah it's inconsistent......i think MichaelTan from VRZone Forums is claiming that there is no such thing as 1T problem.......he has a similar rig to you with the RAM and all...i reckon you should pay them a visit and post in the Abit Forum.....

I've had no problems whatsoever running 1T w/Micron chips (as per sig). Never ran 2T ever.

ok with my sli fatal1ty now.....good god the stock bios sucks, flash to bios 15 at least right off the bat. question, any reason why my board doesnt like my TCCD very much? damn i have my work cut put atm

For me bios 17 has been by far the most stable. My system totally rocks, except for the 2t timing issue.

Dinos22, I looked through a ton of Michaeltan posts and could only find one where he said Abit themselves have not experienced the 1t issue on thier own testbeds. No mention of the timings being ran...

if you look at that thread again you will see that later on he actually states which timings they use at Convergent Systems with Patriot stuff. It is a sad thing that Abit is not even aware of the problem which means they won't be fixing it any time soon. Michael is probably a bit biased towards Abit as he has commercial interest in selling that brand so may not be the most objective source i guess

i haven't had any problems running 1T; highest i've gotten my patriot 3200 with relative stablity (~2 hours prime stable) is 277mhz. timings were 2.5,11,13,4,2,10,3,2,2,3 1T @ 2.8v. timings at 200mhz were 2,11,13,3,2,5,2,2,2,3 1T @ 2.6v. i have the ram installed in DIMMs 1 and 2, and am using BIOS 15.

I've boght a AN8 Ultra from a store It was suposed to be brand new but I noticed the cables weren't packed and the OTES System was already rusty and the bios was manipulated. First I wasnt really happy with this because I knew that some people at the stores (specialy overclockers) try the hardware parts and then the worst ones they sell has new to other buyers the best ones they keep to them selfes or sell for a higher price to friends or special customers. This is specialy obviouse with cpu's. So I started to be puzzeled by the overclocking potential of this A8N Ultra and what does it have rong to be a used card selled has new.

First I started to do I litle overclocking with my venice for now only with the OEM heatsink (I'm waiting for my watercooling socket 939 adaptor) I've been able to hit 2400Mhz rock stable and 2500Mhz almost 100% stable it runed prime during 4 hours with out a problem, I've also managed to hit 2700Mhz stable enough to have a screen shot of sandra.

So far so good...

But now I've been playing with it a litle more lower the multi to 8x set memories to 200MHz HTT 3x just to see how much FSB could I hit and I cant get above 270Mhz the memories arent a problem since they are only at 270Mhz well under the DDR400 Specs, the HTT is only at 810Mhz (well under de 1Ghz limite) and the cpu is at 2160 well under the 2700Mhz that I'm able to get.

Does this seem normal to you ? What are your tips ?
I've PCI-E set fixed to 100Mhz 16x 16x.
I've left the nforce 4 and htt voltages normal since I'm actualy underclocking the HTT.

Could it be from the CPU ? Or I got a really bad mobo ? If I got a really bad mobo then my suspicions were right :( And the problem is that I wanted to hit 2800-2900Mhz with my watercooling but since I cant change the multi for higher tham 10x and I cant seem to get higher fsb tham 270Mhz I'm fuc*** up.

If you are running your memory at 270mhz, that would be ddr540, well above ddr400 specs. Use a memory divider to lower your ram speed...

Crazy thing is, setting 1t timing even at 200mhz 1to1 mem speed is unstable for me, a bsod will pop up when doing stability testing. Setting to 2t solves the problem.

If I remember correctly I had a similar issue on my AN8 Ultra with not being stable over around 260Mhz HTT

I removed the thermalpad from under the chipset HS and put some AS5 there and have been stable upto 345Mhz HTT so far

If it's not your ram or cpu holding you back then try replacing the thermalpad with some thermal compound like Artic Silver 5 and see if that helps ;)

I dont know what you are talking about, this board is one of the most stable i have ever owned, i have only had to reset cmos twice since using it.

ABIT if you are listining:

*fix the 2t issue
*give us back 3.55 vdimm
*a little more vcore would be nice, 1.7 maybe
*fix the 16mb maxtor SATA drives not being detected sometimes, this was a problem on earlier DFI NF4 bios revisions
*give us drive strength options
*read to write delay adjustment
*then optimize it all and this board will be the cats ass!!!!

if they put out a really good bios which fixes these things this would be a huge seller. It could prob help them get out of their money crisis.

I just built a PC using the Fatal1ty board. I joined after reading through this thread to share my experience from last night trying to overclock.

I started off doing the HTT like he said with Prime95 running and upping the frequency using clockgen every so often. I hit 215mhz HTT using 1T before getting an error. I switched to 2T and got the board up to 340mhz HTT when it started to error. I dropped the HTT back down to 335 and ran Prime95 for about 30 minutes without any errors.

I had the HT ratio set at x3 so I thought that maybe I was pushing it too far when I was at 340 and caused it to generate errors. I went into the bios, set it for x2.5 and tried to see how high I could get the HTT again using clockgen. I started at 335 and instantly got errors. I kept dropping the HTT until it was at 290mhz before it would run without errors.

I put the HT back to x3, rebooted and tried again. Same thing, 290mhz was about the max I could do.

I moved on to the CPU. My goal was to find my limit at about 1.45 volts in the mobo and leave it there. I am not interested in going real extreme, just enough to have some fun. I was able to get the CPU to 2500mhz at 1.45 volts before it would lock up and not post. I didn't get any errors however.

Moving on to the ram, I could get up to 237mhz error free at 2.65 volts and 2.5-4-3-10 timings. I put it at 238mhz and it wouldn't post. I never could push it to get errors. I tried to get it to run faster by upping the voltage and changing the timings. I got up to 2.85 volts and some really loose timings and it wouldn't change at all.

I decided to put it all together and tried to OC everything at once. I started out below the thresholds I found for each component and had no luck. It wouldn't post at all. I finaly got it working stable after lowering the HTT down to around 250mhz.

I dont have any screenshots as I am at work right now, but could someone tell me if this board is really fickle, or am I just a retard?

they're focused in the CrossFire chipset board now m8

I only have one complaint about my AN8 Ultra and Winchester 3000+ and that is the cold boot issue at 300Mhz and above

Otherwise it's a great board and I hope they do an even better job with the crossfire board ;)

Mine is a 3500+ Clawhammer and no 1t timing either...

Man, I am so tempted to go to MicroCenter and pick up a DFI Ultra D just to take advantage of this pc4800 tccd I bought. It does me no good to have overclocker's ram if mobo won't work with it.
