well, 2800mhz on air seems too much for me...
there are some "tricks" of the trade, too :D
One thing that can be done is to take a piece of DI and sit it on the heatsink for 5 or 10 minutes before boot... or freezing spray...
C
easier to mount you autocascade :D
I'm pretty sure I have a 725 but cpuz says i have a 730 and i'm locked at the multiplier 12...how can i be sure which it is?

well, it must be like 1.6/533 on it...plz, write here what is written on your cpu or simply post a pic!
I think it's possible but for sure not with the standard heatsink. My Dothan is running 24/7 at 2.7G 1.5V temp 55-65C range. I ordered an XP-90, I hope to hit 2.8G stable with that.Quote:

Also when ever I open my bios the 28 multiplier is always selected but boots up as 12?? My cpu can do 158~159 max fsb so I can't really overclock it too far. Could it be a bug in the 1021d.003 bios that won't let me select a 16 multiplier?Quote:

does it matter if its a 478 pin dothan or a 479 pin?
Just now i got an offer for a 478 pin, 533mhz C0 stepping Pentium M 750, but the drawback is of course that it is a 478 pin PPPGA socket processor.. Would this matter? I have used Banias processors earlier both on Aopen 855 motherboard, and on a CT 479 adapter, but havent done any overclocking on them...
Could someone please help me?
With hatemi moded machII, Dothan 730 with asus p4p800 e dlx 3Ghz.
Only 200mhz more than with air :(
had someone tested the VID settings in the P4P800 VM bios ?

These Dothans seem to hit a wall at a certain point. Still, its surprising that you didn't get more than 200mhz using youe mach II.Quote:

Anyone able to link me to any benchmarks of Overclocked Dothans vs overclocked A64's in Call of Duty? I was going to do my own benching, but Im getting sick of waiting for my A64 boards to get back and need to decide now which rig will be my main one.

Clocks:
P-M 755 @ 2.0GHz and 400MHz bus
P-M 755 @ 2.4GHz and 600MHz bus
So looks like clock for clock the Dothan will be slightly faster, but if my a64 clocks 150+mhz more, then it'd probably be the best choice.
Dothan was going to be a no brainer, but it looks like I've got my hands on possibly the best stepping venice available right now. But I've also got a 730 and a SLK948u coming, so I won't know for sure for a week or two which will be my main rig... though I suspect the A64 will be main and the dothan will be my micro-case/silent server/secondary.
