yes do that, see what your scores end up being with balanced settings......wonder if you could break prime bench at 9.0 seconds?to bad I didnt run it when I was testing at 4.26ghz

Hmmm.. I wonder if you Raise the HTT and lower Ram to run on 800divider instead of 1066..
Ive noticed better performance gains with Ganged and 1066mhz speeds using 800divider vs 1066divider. Even My Unganged timing did better this same way(Using 800ram divider instead of 1066 for 1066mhz+)
I has to do with how ASUS coded the Bios for 1066 vs 800.,,
No matter what brand ram i use ,,
THEY ALL DID faster times with 5-5-5-15 on 800divider @ 1066mhz
( Instead of using) 1066divder @ 1066mhz. 5-7-7-20 default for 1066 on this mobo.
So with that in mind ,,You could go for the gusto and try higher HTT with HT3000/NB3000 @ 4gig ,,just use different ram divider if all possiable to obtain 1066mhz ram. Matter of fact even if its lower than 1066mhz it may even allow you to run 4-4-4-15 timing ,,Who knows.
Phenom is definatly fun to tweak ,, different every day:D
Note: Maybe start @ 260htt and what ever it takes for 3000ht/NB while using the 800ram divider = 1040mhz right @ 260htt..I so wish i had i 940 right now lol....
So what's the word on the pcb color?
Are there still balck and brown versions around?
I'm thinking about leaving Intel and go AMD but i'd really like a black PCB.
My DOA one was black, the replacement is brown.
Mine is brown, I was kind of upset when I saw that.
It's not that great looking and sticks out abit in an all black system :(
Still an amazing motherboard though.
So, still a mixed bag, hmmm
Hoping to get a black one then.
Do black ATI based cards exist?
Really? I've never seen a 4870x2 that's black.
I know the 3870x2's were.
I did a quick search, but did not see if you need to do a BIOS update for this board to use a 940BE.
Is this needed? If yes, normal BIOS utility update will work? If no, any other options besides getting a newer board?
Thanks
940 BE should work with 0602 bios. Also, BIOS-based flash utility is perfect if you want to flash to 0701.
well here is my first stable results. I have hit 4.2ghz with 1.5v valid and Super PI 1M ran. that was all I did @ 4.2.
Edit: I forgot the link to my stable results LOL... click on "here"
cdnbum88, remember 0701 is a beta BIOS, it was made available here with absolutely no warranty and you use it on your own risk.
Thus your board cannot come back from RMA with 0701 flashed.
But it works perfectly fine, for some even better than 0602.
I'm loving this 0701 bios. Getting better reference speed OCs while using less voltage on my 9850
where can i get this BIOS??? right now my 940 wont overclock for crap. i cant do ANYTHING w/o the board either not posting, or windows failing to even get to the scrolling status screen
Hellow guys
I recieved the mobo long time ago and installed it too but I didn't tweak anything, and yesterday I upgraded the CPU to Phenom II 940 BE... when I went to change the RAM timing I found every thing complicated for me as there's some technical things I just saw it now and I don't know anything about them
my RAM is Corsair DDR2-800 5-5-5-12 1T, but this is the default, it can be 4-4-4-18 2T @ 2.1v and I have to set these manually, I did this already tens of times on my older mobo M2N32-SLI Deluxe WiFi, but M3A79-T Deluxe include a lot of details that I just saw now
currently, I know I have to set timing as follow
CAS = 4
Trcd = 4
Trp = 4
Tras = 18
ofcourse this is after setting 2T and upping the voltage to 2.1v...
but there's other settings I don't know like tRFC(x) which is valued with (ns) so it's just timing also but in nano-seconds which I don't know too what !!
and what about Primary and Secondary ( DCT0 & DCT1 )
and all other things that can be set already like tWR but I know nothing about them !!
BIOS 0701 is available here.
