If you go to intel in the core 2 duo section and click on the support tab then look on the left side where it says warranty and click that this is what it takes you to.

I dont know where they get a one year manufacturer warranty from.

btw, I didn't ask about other processors like the e6600. this was only about the e6700.

They should have offered you $20 off and/or free overnight shipping. I'd probably take the deal anyway just to get it over with. The factory HSF isn't worth much and you still get a 90 day warranty from Intel despite what they told you. CPU's rarely fail.

They should know for sure if they're getting them today.

I can guarantee you that a shipment of Conroe$ will be fully trackable and insured.

Whether they get them in time to recieve, process orders, and ship is another question.

lol...hows this for retarded, I called them asking about X6800's last week, saying that the website listed them at $999 (which it did). Just got back from MicroCenter in Mayfield Hts Ohio

they have all the OEM's in stock but no Retail box processors also

the 6600 (the one i want) is 380. the guy tried to tell me that the OEM still had a warranty, ironically one of my "clients" called me asking about which webcam to buy, so i was all talking about my work right infront of the micro center guy and he walked away... which is fine cuz i do that to some people until i saw the GM of the store walk out and i was like "hey Chris one of your sales guys just walked away from me" sales guy turned casper white.

anyway 380 for an OEM is just not in my price range, and they have no P5w's in store either... and they want 290 for those.

I just got off the phone with Fernando at Club IT regarding the retail E6600 order I placed on 7/27.

He said they should get it out today. (no mention of any OEM vs. Retail mix up on this SKU).

However I won't believe it until it's on the truck. I still have a hunch that they were never fully in stock but were enroute to them.

I hope when I finally click go on the newegg site the e6600 doesn't pop up extremely overpriced, but I guess I don't mind paying a little more for a retail chip. Come on newegg, don't let me down! or should I say us... :D

$499 for a e6400 + bad axe combo. that's not too shabby... I'll have to run down there today to see if they have any e6600...:D

actualy with only a $10 difference between a 6300 and 6400, the 6600 could be $420 or $430 (still to high but who knows), or it could be $600...
