If you go to intel in the core 2 duo section and click on the support tab then look on the left side where it says warranty and click that this is what it takes you to.Quote:

I dont know where they get a one year manufacturer warranty from.
Maybe the guy you talked to had no clue.Quote:

Whether they get them in time to recieve, process orders, and ship is another question.

MeWantConroe: Hi I was wondering when you will be selling the Intel Core 2 Duo Processors...I heard a rumor that it was today.
Janet : The ETA is today, but we have not received the shipment yet. I apologize for that.
MeWantConroe: Orly...That sucks I guess it's still early in Califronia correct? Is that were they are being shipped to?
Janet : Yes, the items will be shipped to California.
MeWantConroe: Oh ok that's good so it is still early. so we may see these on the site today possible later in the afternoon?
Janet : Yes, we might receive them by the end of the day. But there is no guarantee, since we are not aware of the exact time that we will receive them.
MeWantConroe: Alright well they should then for sure be here by tomorrow then...
Janet : The only information we have is that the ETA is today. But then again, we cannot guarantee. The only information we have is that, and what you see online. Which at this moment we do not have a guarantee for the ETA, nor other information.
lol...hows this for retarded, I called them asking about X6800's last week, saying that the website listed them at $999 (which it did). Rep said he wasn't around that day and would check with someone else to see what the story was. He then told me that $999 is how much they paid for it, and proceeded to beg me to take it for $1299. :p:Quote:

the 6600 (the one i want) is 380. the guy tried to tell me that the OEM still had a warranty, ironically one of my "clients" called me asking about which webcam to buy, so i was all talking about my work right infront of the micro center guy and he walked away... which is fine cuz i do that to some people until i saw the GM of the store walk out and i was like "hey Chris one of your sales guys just walked away from me" sales guy turned casper white.
anyway 380 for an OEM is just not in my price range, and they have no P5w's in store either... and they want 290 for those.
I just got off the phone with Fernando at Club IT regarding the retail E6600 order I placed on 7/27.
He said they should get it out today. (no mention of any OEM vs. Retail mix up on this SKU).
However I won't believe it until it's on the truck. I still have a hunch that they were never fully in stock but were enroute to them.
I hope when I finally click go on the newegg site the e6600 doesn't pop up extremely overpriced, but I guess I don't mind paying a little more for a retail chip. Come on newegg, don't let me down! or should I say us... :D
ClubIT seems very shady...Quote:

The 6400 keeps getting more attractive by the minute.
You would think Intel would be pumping these out to distributors. Forget about oem's, who buy's pre-built computers anyway? :D
:cool:Yeah the 6400 is nice however good things come to those who wait.Quote:

Newegg's new low, low, low price guarantee...if you find it cheaper...we don't care...
actualy with only a $10 difference between a 6300 and 6400, the 6600 could be $420 or $430 (still to high but who knows), or it could be $600...
