I know that you test everything very thoroughly and we will wait to share the results later. I've just compared my 24/7 settings with both bios and I've tried for a max bclk, but again stopped at 230 :(
Get it here :)

A little 5-run LinX, it is not exactly my favorite temp, it is bringing my cooling to it's knees , but was stable for the run :).
With almost all memory available to W7 (2GB is dedicated to LowGap to assist the GTX 295, and 1GB is used as RAMDisk as temp-drive for the SSD).
3x2GB @1680MHZ 7-8-7-21 1.65v
Uncore= x18 (3780MHZ) :)
VVT=1.23/1.26v (BIOS/load) :)
W3520 @4.41GHZ(210x21) 1.32v, 5-run LinX stable :)

Well I finally got it blend stable... time to test large FFT with 5400mb.
Then I will see if she likes 12GB installed:rolleyes:

This C0 was a pain in the ass to get stable.
EDIT: Will post settings here when I get home from work fully.
this is my first try on this new mobo.
seems interesting to me.
does anyone know about 2 jumpers on the top of cpu area?
I am considering getting this board (plus a waterblock on the northbridge heatpipe plate) since my GB Extreme suffers from abysmal VDroop (LLC on or not) and has BCLK limit of 215 whatever I do (I tested the CPU and RAM in an EVGA board and it went straight to 224 without a problem)- I think my 920 3845B260 could do better on a different board;) I see Eva 2000 has just got the identical batch... I don't think a Classified is worthwhile, since I am not going to use extreme cooling although I do have a chilled water set-up, see

What do you guys think?
Also, probably a dumb question: I have a single ATI 5870 which is fine for my needs, so no crossfire- will it run at x16 in the middle, orange PCIe slot on the DFI. Would make routing my cooling easier
Thanks:)
Hi everyone,
I have a problem. Until now I was with GTX285, but I will switch to ATI5850 and meanwhile I bought 9600GT, which will be used for PhysX with ATI5850. But while waiting to arrive the ATI card, now I am only with 9600GT.
What is the problem, when I overclock the system with old 24 / 7 stable settings 4200MHz, when the board boot it gives me error code 94 and it stuck to a black screen, but before with GTX285 I haven't these problems. When I set default settings no problems. I noticed something else, when I overclocked the system with 24 / 7 settings and set ACHI mode no error code 94, but if I set to IDE mode and error code 94 appears again and stuck to a black screen. This under Win7 x64 and Win XPx86.
I searched in Google about this error 94 and it is "Final Init Final init for last micro details before boot" but I don't know what is the connection with the video card and operating modes of HDD-s in ACHI or IDE
Any suggestions?
PP.Sorry for my English!
I just switched from an msi x58 pro to this board and foudn an option not on the MSI in bios: To disable cores.
Would disabling 2 cores and HT, effectively making it been seen as dual core help me in temps and allow me to set lower vcore on same clockspeeds?
Hi
I am having an issue with my board...
When shutting down windows, the system shuts down windows, screen, speakers but the fans and PSU keeps running.
What could be the cause of this...?
I cant remember exately when this promblem started, but i have installed Intel Patch 1.4 for SSD drives and the new Intel chipset driver 9.1.1.1014. I can't remember if the problem accured after these upgrades, but maybe.
Thanks for any help!
Yes. But why would you do that? Except for max SuperPI maybe...
I can't really help you with that, cause I don't remember where I seen it, but someone having that problem talked about Enabling/Disabling O.C. Shut Down Free helped. I don't know how it could be linked with it, but it's worth a try. You can always try clearing and even reflashing BIOS.
Thanks donmarkoni
Setting O.C. Shut down free to Disabled O.C.S.D.F worked like a charm, fixed the problem, did the job.
Thanks!
Sooo, I thought I was stable with my setup BUT running the same settings for 4-5 months 24/7 now I'm running into issues with Folding@Home bigadv WUs. It finishes one work unit nicely (in around 2 days and 3-6 hours) and starts the next, but close to 3 days the whole system freezes. Bigadv are very memory intensive units (3.2-3.6 GB memory usage for 8 threads) so I guess it's the memory that's at fault because problems only arose after switching to these units. Tried to resolve that with playing around a little with volts but no workee. So I thought let's start from zero, and for that I actually wanted to ask:
Is there currently a consensus on what's the best BIOS for a W3520+OCZ 1600 Platinums? Or should I switch to different memory? :p:
You could try to run those at x6 CL6 ( ~1200MHZ 6-7-6-22), or use loose timings at x8, to see how it works for you.
I have been running W3520 with my old OCZ 1333MHZ Platinums with different BIOS without discovering any difference.
I remember that it wasn't totally stable at rated speed, and I had to use loose timings to get it stable.
This may be different on your sticks, but mine was very picky on tRAS. @1266MHZ 6-6-6-30 was stable, but tRAS=29 would fail in several tests, so i ended up with stable 6-7-6-22 timings for 24/7.
Maybe some new BIOS have better options for DRR3>2000MHZ, but I'm not aware of any big changes for this kind of RAM speeds.
After changing the old OCZ 1333MHZ CL7 @1266 6-7-6-22 to new Corsair 1600MHZ CL7 @1680MHZ 7-8-7-21, I get better bench numbers, but haven't noticed any impact on the stability (or performance) of my real-life applications, yet.
Ok, thank you Sam. I flashed from 508 to 07/24 and will try with this again. It seems in BIOSes after 508 they fixed VTd locking, so this might even be a good thing that I have to start again.. :)
BIOS 07/24 official is out.
Just a status change as far as I can see; hopefully a new beta will be out soon.
11/05/09 BIOS is up.
Major Reasons of Change:
1. Added VT-d support Item.
2. The BIOS fixed Windows 7 CPU ratio issue.

Finally something new to play with, good.
Seams like they got enough of messing around with p55, and trying to pay some attention to real stuff.
