Virus False Positive? I did a scan of C drive and the file _desktop.ini came up as the W32/HLLP.Philis.ini virus. It was located in the folder:
c:\windows\Options\CABS
isn't this the realtek folder?
Lots of files are in the cabs folder its not limited to any one program. Windows stores programs there.
Well I will answer my own question - I picked up an E6750 this morning and the nice young lady at the computer store said that I could return it if I was not happy. (and yes she is pretty)
Well I AM happy - no more double boot/post isssues - so far I have OC to 3.4ghz - temps are up to 10 deg cooler than my E4400, so a worthwhile upgrade IMHO.
So as the saying goes " you can have my E6750 when you prize it from my cold dead fingers !!"
Thanks all
I have to add alot of PCIE voltage over 450fsb(obviously the SB is suffering). 450 is fine at default but for 455 it needs +0.2v and 458 +0.3v with 460fsb being no-go. Time to get another board me thinks.:(
Is there any BIOS that supports EIST&C1E when you change the default voltage on the DQ6? I don't like raising the voltage and seeing a high idle when it's completely unnecessary... : down:
Earlier in this thread, several people said the Vmod from VR-Zone doesn't work. Actually the voltage drop if you do it
It is also confirmed on the VR-Zone forum.
I just ordered
GA-P35-DS3R
E6750
2GB (2x1GB) Crucial Ballastix (Micron D9GMH)
Scythe Infinity HSF for $38 (Normally $58 and I couldn't justify spending double the price for 120-extreme with a $38 scythe infinity.
8800GTS 320mb superclock
vista home premium 32 bit
i got corsairhx520w psu and the HD wd 7200rpm sata 250gb and cd/dvd and the case - heavily modded x-cruiser
what can i expect
i would like 3.2 GHz stable can I expect that?
what should i know?
any bios flashes to take care of for mobo/gpu?
Doesnt work. I posted some things when I first got it. That mod actually lowers your voltage.
Edit - found it: http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...4&postcount=17
Hi guys,
I've a problem with my p35 ds3p
when I set fsb over 430mhz the system start (in fact I listen the windows' jingle star) but the vga don't some signal (all black)
than this I must do a clear cmos
what is the problem?
thanks
i set pcie to +2 n in fact it does overclock better now
4.1 fully stable now
Your not going to believe this, but.....
After making some changes Standby -S3 worked overnight for the first time.
I had to change the Vcore to 1.34375
Funny thing is 1.35000 is not stable, nor is any higher voltage up to 1.36250.
According to all my monitoring programs 1.34375 is a slight increase in voltage under load compared to the Auto setting.
Does anyone know where to read Vcore externally on the GA-P35-DS3P with a VOM?
It'll take a while before I am 100% sure this is completely stable. But it is 2 hours Othos stable so far.
I plan on passing this info on to Gigabyte as soon as I have this verified.
Update
It worked once but another 4 hours later it failed. So although this is closer to working correctly. It still does not work.
Has anyone with a ich9 board tried to enable achi (thus NCQ, hotswapping, transferrate over 133MBps)

thats what i thought,
i have said this time and time again and i'm NOT afraid to say it again.
Shamino posts those pictures and doesnt test them, he is GUESSING that those mods are working.
i was going to say this when i posted the picture but i didnt.
Shamino's original 965 DS3 mod would blow up your motherboard, litterally, it would kill it.
so why he still does it.
well, in my eyes that shows he doesnt give a sh|t .
oh well.
  well i dont plan on keeping this cpu more than a year lol
if intel comes up with a 5.0 i'll buy it today10
my cpu is lapped no more warranty if it burns it burns
only thing i concerned about is power consumption lol
wont be the first cpu i burned wont be the last lol
when i'm not gaming i turn it down to 3.7
but i will do more testing since augmenting pcie volts helpin i will find how high it can go till my 6850 cries for mercy
got new batch of mushkin xp8500 lets see how good they are :D
Lots of new bios out guys...i just flashed to F6 for the P35-DQ6 myself:
http://www.station-drivers.com/
This :banana::banana::banana:ing bios is full of mudakunt hot :banana::banana::banana: what the :banana::banana::banana: is going on with the pci-e slot as soon as i hit 400fsb the slot is put into x1 mode which results in 5 frames at most when i'm gaming or is this problem just happening on my rig? I see no one else posting about this problem but it just pisses me off so badly. Anyone know how to fix this seriously annoying problem?
