did you do a reinstall?
I am using 0711, and i have disabled EIST.
But, in fact , it is still active. (i hope u see the point now, after 4 posts :P)
I am not sure if this will work for everyone else, after reading the post with the gent who switched his video card and didnt have the problem, I would assume that this could be the issue.
I was about ready to RMA my motherboard because my father has the same mobo oc'd the same and he has no problem with the 1x boot. And I can get mine to boot back to 16x after clearing CMOS, changing boot strap, or unplugging PSU plug, but after a restart, or lock up, my computer would instantly go back to 1x. I personally could not stand having to do either of those things to reset it everytime so...
After some research noticed that my gpu ran fine idle, but under load went to 78+ degrees C. Yeah...not good, after taking my heatsink off noticed that the thermal paste on the gpu had squeezed off onto the green pcb of the gpu, cleaned it up, put it back together, no more lock ups, no more high temps, no more 1x. I have restarted multiple times, done updates, pretty much anything you can think of, and havent had 1x. My assumption would be that asus put into play something that detects either your gpu's status or something and automatically adjust it.
Hope this helps, I know I was one frustrated lad dealing with 1x when I had no problems with my last setup. So check your gpu temps in game, and at least try applying some AS5 to it:toast:
lol sorry didnt read through all your posts :slapass:Quote:

i guess replugging the videocard helped. once i get the 1X im having trouble to get it functioning at 16X. but once i get it 16X then it is 16X until i go on higher stress to the NB (400FSB with tight timings, 401 is OK)Quote:

Let me know if you want me to post my Bios configs.
plz.
But it must be all correct in BIOS.
Has anyone tested the multiplier with Crystal
I think..yes.Quote:

I will post my BIOS settings tomorrow, I am pressed for time at the moment.
I do have a quesiton though.
I still have an unknown device on the Intel ICH8 Interface after installed the Intel INF and the Matrix Storage Driver. Does anyone know what this last unknown device could be?
I had an unknown IDE controller show up if I increased the PCI-E freq too high, and it went away when I set the PCI-E freq back to 100. Haven't investigated fully though.
That's strange, but for kicks I'm running 100 as well.
Anyone have problems with the Asus Q-Fan control?
I have an Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro. It has a 4 pin fan. It should work. But when I turn on Q-Fan to "Optimal," the fan stays under 600 RPM, even when the CPU is stressed. The CPU gets pretty freaking hot. But when I turn off Q-Fan, it goes up to 2600RPM.
If you start at 400FSB in BIOS that uses the 1066 strap, using the correct clockgen does it stay at the 1066 strap when you pass 401mhz?
Because i've gone from 400 boot FSB to 410 FSB using clockgen.
Has the strap changed or is it the same? Eg, 1066?
Cheers :)
Uh-oh, I'm having trouble reaching 8x400 with my E6400 on P5B-DLX. At the moment I'm at 8x387, which seems to be Orthos-stable. Core voltage is 1,35 and other voltages are on auto (as I'm not sure what to do with them). Memory is not holding me back (I've also tried at very loose timings). Most of my bios-settings are copied from the "Optimal P5B settings" -thread.
It just seems a little odd, since it's running so fine at 3,1Ghz but will not run at 3,2Ghz. 3,1 is okay, but I've sort of set my mind on reaching the 3,2.
Any great ideas?-)
Core Voltage = 1.3625V
Mem voltage = 2.25V
Mem timings = 4-4-4-12
FSB Term = 1.45V
NB V = 1.55V
SB V = 1.6V
There you go :)
(Make sure the ram is able to do those timings :) )

Dude , these are your voltages. It doesnt mean everyone has the same .Quote:

memory timings arent important.
P5b dlx has issues at 350-400, have u tried >410.
Hello.
I have now 4 P5B Deluxe/Wifi in my computers and all of them has stability problems, and they are not overclocked.
But my latest finding has to do with the onboard Audio. If I use it, the computer becomes strange. For example: Restart the computer and everything works fine. Start Internet Explorer (6 or 7 doesn't matter). Leave the computer on for a few hours. Then close IE and start it again. It works fine. Then start surfing or typing a few addresses, and it hangs. It is possible to minimize, but that's all. Closing only shows the end program dialog, and resize is impossible.
My audio is setup to use DTS Connect, as I have the computer connected to my reciever. I guess that will make a difference. I don't have any normal speakers :-(
I get my board to work perfect right now, so I will see tomorrow how it seems.
This time, I didn't install the drivers for Audio / JMicron and Wifi. Only LAN and chipset and nVidia 91.47.
May I ask some of you to test my theory that this is really the problem?
It sounds very strange, I know, but none of the workarounds in this forum has helped, including the one with KB920872.

Next time I wont try and help:rolleyes:
So i bought this mobo, opened box .. and found that someone else already used it (some texts written inside manual), fitted dimms etc, and nothing, no signal on monitor, tried it with one stick, worked, but when i tried to install windows it always rebooted, after like a hour of testing i take cold shower, cause i was pissed like hell, then i though, maybe it didnt like sticks, who knows how old can be bios on mobo, so i set FSB to 100, then CPU works on 800Mhz like a charm, installed windows without problem, checked what bios was on mobo, 0507 :D ... then i flashed latest one, cleared cmos, and voila it boots on default clocks, sadly second stick is pretty much dead, it just wont boot with it, so RMA.
I have the same set-up as you and my E6600 is mildy oc'ed to 3 Ghz, Q-fan is enabled and seems to work OK.Quote:

a month ago, the mobo had the same problem after i flashed the bios. i had asus fix the chip for me and they sent it back, working.
The current bios is 0711, it is fine.
help!
when i said card, i mean video card
the cpu temps are in the 40s
