show official document to back up your words and i will look arround at the box code for the 3500 San Diego and it states 3500+ 2.2GHz 512L2 Cache as you have no documented proof stateing its only 2.0GHz and 1MB L2 Cache
P.S. There is no such thing as a 4000+ Venice unless you have documented proof of that your list is just as silly as you say every one els's is

Fzero u are complicating the issue for no reason at all. No one is challenging your belief that the 3500+ doesnt have 1MB cache, but here's the thing and pls try to understand this carefully:
Both the Venice and the SanDiego have exactly the same cores, their different nametags are because of their difference in cache. THEREFORE, any...AND I MEAN ANY...processor that is 90nm and Rev E is AUTOMATICALLY a Venice, irrespective of whether AMD disabled the cache OR the alley cats from Stuart Little came and mistook it for a square mouse, it dosent matter, if its not there, its a Venice.
AMDFan had the right idea, though the 4000+ Venice seems a tad new, it may be a part of their upcoming releases THAT we dont know but there is NO such thing as a 3500+ 512K San Diego....its a Venice the second its not 1MB Cache.

AMDFan then it is just speculation we will know when they come out just dont go telling other people there wrong because no one has any information document from AMD saysing what it will have it is all just speculation and if im wrong the 2-3 online shops are false advertiseing
Why don't we worry about actually getting our hands on some venice/Sandy cores and then we can make educated conclusions. Until they are all relesed, we are in the dark. I tend to think that the 3500+ sandy will be one with only 512 KB cache, but anything is possible.
Lets get back to the debate about the 3500+ after the chips are actually relesed. ;) ;)
Oh, and does anyone know if the May 20th ship date for the 3000+ and 3200+ is accurate, or is Monarch just being cautious?
I won't sleep tonight untill i'll know for sure if there's a 3500+ 1MB L2 chip, from either core. BAH! This E revision "gold rush" is killing me. :(

amd's roadmap shows the 3500+ diego at 2.2GHz and 512k making it a Venice in other words. "real" venice have a smaller die with 512k while the 3500+ diego has some cache disabled.
ya that make more sense anyways, a San Diego with 1MB cache for ~$270 USD is just too good to be true :(

What I dont get is if the 3500 BN is really a Venice...well then why isnt it BP on the box? BN is clearly the code for Diego, no? So whats the distinction between the two?
And am I the only one not going crazy over the 1mb cache on the 3700+ Diego?
As everone says the core was ORIGINALLY a san diego however half of it is crippled so it has only 512KB of L2 cache. The Venice only has 512KB of L2 cache on die to start with. CPU-z etc will read it as a Venice because most of these software programs go by actual L2 cache to determine code name. That is why the code is BN for these instead of BP for the true Venice - just like we have an AS 3500+ as well as an AX 3500+ both are 130nm at 2.2Ghz but only the AX is the true Newcastle.
so the San Diego will still be better because it uses SSOI right?
Neither the San Diego or Venice have SSDOI - that is old technology. They BOTH use DSL strained silicon technology. DSL standing for dual stress liner and involves both stretching and compressing. The only difference between the 3500+ San Diego and 3500+ Venice is die size.

In the left corner, right from the battery and left from your FDD-connector you find clear CMOS (it's red).
First power off your system -> set JP2 pin 2-3 to on -> wait 10 sec -> set JP2 back to pin 1-2
